Quality Inn & Suites Middletown – Franklin

Every year, my fiancé and I travel down to Dayton for the Hamvention. Every year the hotels seem to get worse and worse and this was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. I called a couple days ahead to warn them that we were going to show up around midnight and to make sure that we had a pet room as well. They confirmed everything with me. The night we traveled down they called me and asked if I wanted to give away my room because it was really late and they were ‘sold out’. I told them again that we were going to be getting there really late and to please read to notes on our account. A couple hours away from the hotel we called back just in case and they said everything was okay still. When we get there we were told that since we were a «No Show» that they might not have a room for us even though we had the notes on our reservation. Lamar «copied» the reservation and had me sign a receipt. He told me that the receipt was for all three nights even though the price was super wrong. Before we left for the Hamvention the next morning we went to the desk just to make sure our reservation was correct. The girl that helped us was called «Skittles» and she was very helpful. She told us that Lamar screwed up the reservation and charged us all the wrong things and the room that we were put in was not a pet room. She got everything all fixed up and the manager was there but he would not come out and talk to us about it.
Now about the room and the hotel itself. It was disgusting and filthy. The entire hotel looked like no one has vacuumed in years and there are stains on every single part of the hallway carpet and a lot around the room. There was the last guest’s beard shavings still on top of the provided hairdryer. You know its bad when you have to put a sheet down on the floor so your dog doesn’t get dirty. The beds were clean except one of the decorative top sheets. There was a dark redish stain on it. The air conditioner didn’t even blow air so my fiancé popped it open and took out the filter which looked like it hasn’t been cleaned or changed in 20 years. He took it out and put it into the closet so we could have some cool air for our stay. The wheel fell off of the rolly-​chair when he sat on it. We accidentally spilled a glass of water on the carpet so we took a towel to sop it up and the towel came up dark brown. We also had to have our keys re-​actiavetd three times on our three night stay. And even when the LED on the door would turn green to let us in, the handle wouldn’t engage and wouldn’t let us in anyways.
The room next to us was abandoned and the lock and knob was ripped off of the door. It sounded like someone was living in there but the mattress and walls were all torn up. I wish I could add photos to this review. I have tons of them.
I really don’t recommend this ‘hotel’. It’s seriously bad. Don’t do it. It made our once a year vacation not feel like a comfortable vacation and its the first time I couldn’t wait to get going home.
