I Made This Pottery Studio

We take the kids here all the time and my wife and I go for date nights as well. It’s a god time to catch up and have some fun!!!

We had a great time here. Four of us went, including a child. My grandmother had never been to a paint your own pottery before, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The child with us had a great time picking out her pottery and painting/​repainting it many times because the rest of us were taking our time. I think the prices are okay, not the lowest I’ve seen, but it’s in a cutesy downtown area, so I think that’s why it’s a little higher. My only complaint is that the staff were in a separate room doing stuff, and I think that they should be in the same room as the customers. Especially considering it was a Saturday, and it was fairly busy

We were looking for things to do in Frederick, and this pottery studio was a fun and creative way to spend a few hours on the weekend. The experience is $ 20+ per person, depending on what pottery piece you choose. But the way I see it, you’re paying for the experience AND the one-​of-​a-​kind item you get to take home.
The store has several shelves of unfinished clay pieces to choose from — everything from cookie jars and bowls, to animal figurines and holiday ornaments. You choose whichever item you like (prices are on the bottom), pick your paints from the large wall of colors, grab a table, and spend as much time as you like painting. When you’re done, they fire the piece in the kiln to create a glossy finished product.
It took a week for our pieces to be ready for pick-​up, and they gave us a call as soon as it was ready.

My first time here & it was totally awesome ! Definitely will be back! The wonderful variety of things to paint & the possibilities are endless. Found out that they do parties and stuff too such a better idea then the typical kids running around all over the place kinda party. Great place to express creativity and practice artistic abilities !

I Made This is a «paint your own pottery studio» nestled in Everedy Square in Downtown Frederick. This colorful studio will remind you of elementary school art class, in the best way possible. The concept is simple. They provide the pottery, the paint, and the space. You paint, play, and enjoy. They clean up and glaze/​fire your artwork. A week or so later, you pick it up and take it home!
The location has a fun, colorful vibe. I came here with a girlfriend on a rainy Saturday. The shop was filled with people of all ages, everybody from couples on dates to families. When you walk in, grab a table and browse the pottery. The walls are lined with everything from mugs and plates to monsters and unicorns! Once you pick your piece, you have free-​range of the paint, brushes, stencils and other tools. Then you paint! Once you’re finished, just take your artwork to the counter and they’ll explain the rest. The two staff members were very patient and helpful with our questions through the whole process.
The pricing is fair and there is a decent range to choose from. I painted a medium-​sized serving dish and it was $ 25, including the firing, but you can easily spend more or less. Not bad considering we easily spent two hours painting and chit-​chatting.
I LOVED my time here and have already made plans to bring others!

Had a problem with a missing piece. My daughter stopped in a week or so later, and there it was. Make sure to leave a copy of info sheet w the owner who can be on the lookout if a piece of yours ever goes missing. Because I was given the info sheet, they had no way to contact me. The phone number I gave the young girl was misplaced. All is well, owner responded kindly.

I really like this place. I haven’t been in a while but I used to go almost every other month. It’s a nice little shop to paint. They provide a variety of pre-​made pottery, as well as a range of colors. Although It takes a while to be put through the kiln, very worth it in the end and you’ll enjoy the outcome!
