Mr Tire Auto Service Centers

I started going to Mr. Tire when a small gas station shop that was conveniently located across the street from my work told me I needed something for my car that was going to be more money then I had at the time. I called around to different shops and found the Mr. Tire offered the best pricing. They won me over when I took my car in and they said the part didn’t need to be replaced, but tightened and the other guys may have even loosened it to try and get more business.
Since then I take both of my cars to Mr. Tire on 40 and Jessica knows me and my cars by site. She has even dropped me off at home or work when I didn’t want to wait for service. The technicians are never pushy with service items and are always able to take you back and show you the problem and explain it to you.
My only negative comment is that they don’t keep track of your service record. A couple times they have told me that I’m due for something (due to car mileage) and it’s something I was ahead of the game on and just had done — by them.

I choose to believe that the two negative reviews from 2009 and 2013 are when this place was owned by different management. The reason I say this is because I had a very very pleasant experience and last minute too.
This was one of two Mr. Tires in Frederick open on a Sunday. Upon calling, it was this Mr. Tire that sounded like they were willing to help more so than the other, especially considering, it was an emergency.
Discovered a screw in my tire the night before complete with a slow leak (joyous!). Called to see if they had openings, and Leland from start (initial phone call) to finish (shaking our hand before we walked out the door) was fantastic.
We took the car over after he said they would look at it and fix it today for sure if they could (ie the screw did not destroy the integrity of the tire, causing them to have to order a completely new tire).
After explaining he said he would take a look and give us a call. After about an hour and a half, we received a call that the tire was fixable and with the road hazard we purchased for the tires, all rotating and patching would be free of charge (great news). However, when they got the tires off, they said the brakes were seriously due for a change. The brakes were almost metal to metal, upon their assessment when removing the tires for rotating.
Since needing to stop is pretty vital in a large motor vehicle, we gave them the go ahead to change all the brakes. Once we got the call that our car was ready, maybe 2 and a half hours later, Leland ran through the price breakdown, how he tried to work the initial price down with discounts and he even took an additional $ 20.00 when we showed him a coupon we had just received in the mail.
From start to finish this place was a dream to deal with. In a matter of hours, I managed to get my tire fixed, tires rotated, and all brand new brakes put on. Before we left he even explained we might smell some burning on the road home due to the brakes breaking in which is completely normal.
At all fronts, Leland kept us abreast of all work to be done and did not do any thing to the vehicle we did not approve. Will be back here for sure!

I’ve gone to them several times in the past for an oil change, tire rotation, topping fluilds, and other basic services. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. This week I only went to get a flat tire replaced. Besides that service, they decided to perform a routine inspection of my car and informed me after. On top of the tire, they said I need struts & belts replaced, air filter and all fluids are dirty, and other maintenance. The bill would come to $ 1700 and they want me to get them done today. They were also aggressive and tried to intimidate me. As a woman and savvy consumer, I told them I’ll think about it. I took my car the next day to a local, experienced, & professional mechanic at Valero Gas Station in off Woodsboro Pike (rt. 194), he checked my car and said nothing was wrong except I need the fluilds changed only. From now on, I no longer am Mr Tire’s customer except for tires only, I will get my basic services done elsewhere even if it’s going to cost me more. I want better service and Valero did great!
