History

Established in 2011.

At age 15, the owner Victoria lost her family dog to old age. It’s always difficult to explain the enormity of losing a canine loved one to someone who hasn’t experienced the steadfast love and loyalty of an animal, but if one has experienced it then they know just how much it hurts. Victoria owned other dogs since the loss of her first and each was special in their own, beautiful way but lost one to lymphatic cancer and another to a veterinary accident. When Walk it Down launched, Victoria didn’t own any pets and decided a dog walking business would be a great way to get her puppy fix, cement herself in the community and earn a modest living. While she’s since acquired a beautiful female pit-​bull, she still loves helping other dog owners manage their pets numerous needs.

Business Owner

Victoria is the founder and owner of Walk it Down Frederick. She embarked on her pet care career in the spring of 2011 although her experience with nurturing, sheltering and loving a wide variety of animals began almost 29 years ago. Victoria grew up in a home with multiple dogs and cats and when the time came for her to move out of the house she broadened her critter repertoire to include hamsters (hairless!), ferrets and birds. Currently, she is the proud mama of a pit-​bull mix named Cinna and thousands of fireflies who enjoy hanging out in her backyard garden.
