CA Tan

I absolutely love CA Tan. The staff is wonderful. The store is nicely decorated and welcoming with lots of products for purchase. I hadn’t been to a tanning salon in years. They walked me through, showed me the beds, explained my options, and explained the pricing. I go on a regular basis, and couldn’t be more pleased. My mother owns a tanning bed, and they were even helpful enough to tell me how to check into repairs when it could have resulted in me not needing their service any more. I’m still going and will continue to support this business. I’ve also recommend them to friends who are highly satisfied.

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF’ and employs a dishonest and shady «manager» to run this crap hole salon.
I was visiting from out of town and decided to get a mystic tan, which I have had done several times in the past so I am fully aware of the process beforehand and what to expect when getting a spray tan. I found this place on the net and decided to go in since it was the closest by. I should have trusted my instincts and left this place when I saw the room in which they kept the tanning box, bc it looked dirty, unkept, and the back door of the machine stayed open, exposing the tanning solution the machine used. This definitely should not be open due to possible contamination… When the so called «manager» told me to put slippers on, that was yet another indication to me this place was bad news bc if I wore slippers it would stain me feet!!! At any rate, I entered the box and and after I was sprayed I opened my eyes and to my shock, I WAS GREEN! THE MACHINE HAD SPRAYED GREEN JUNK ALL OVER ME! I summoned the lady from the intercom to come to the room and ask her what was this junk all over me and she responded with «she had used it that morning (YEAH RIGHT. BOLD FACE LIE) and that she suggested I go home and take a shower quickly. First of all, all salons I have been to when someone is done, there are remnants of their visit in the trash … I. E hairnets, baby wipes… And like I said this room looked EXTREMELY UNKEPT AND NEGLECTED and there’s NO WAY A MACHINE TURNS OUT TO SPRAY GREEN HOURS LATER IF IT HAD INDEED BEEN USED THAT MORNING!
After spending 25 min wiping this green crap off of me, i asked for a refund. God knows what this crap could have done to my skin or what it could have contained– I had no idea what it was!!! The lady suggested a free visit again in which I declined bc I had already informed her in the beginning I was from out of town so therefore a free visit is useless nor would I ever want to come back to this dump again after this trauma! Since i had paid with my debit card she said she could not refund bc the owners were so conveniently «out of town» and would not return in a few days… Ummm ok aren’t you THE «MANAGER??,» CLEARLY I DID NOT GET THE SERVICE I PAID FOR AND CLEARLY YOU RIPPED ME OFF! She then tried to assure me she would call me back ASAP. I already new she was lying and full of crap, just as I had predicted and second guessed myself earlier. Of course she NEVER CALLED ME and instead of calling her up and being extremely rude and irate, I decided to dispute iit with my bank. I also plan on contacting the Board of Health if need be.
I did research and the cause of mystic tan and it turning green is due to OLD SOLUTION AND OXIDATION. LIke I said earlier, the back door of the machine was kept open and neglected to be fixed. This further supports my stance the lady working there is a liar. bc the old and oxidation clearly is the culprit of the green outcome and NO WAY COULD SHE HAVE USED IT THAT DAY WITH THE DOOR CLEARLY BEING BROKEN!
THIS PLACE NOT ONLY EMPLOYS A PERSON WITH BAD ETHICS BUT IS A RIP OFF! I know it’s hard times out there but saying you offer a service and having me pay for NOTHING IS A TOTAL SCAM. If I can deter even one person from giving your hard earned money to this crap hole, then it’s worth this writing a review bc if I had known earlier this place was capable of BAD SERVICE I WOULD HAVE NEVER GONE AND WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY!
