History

Established in 2012.

We previously had a pet sitting, dog walking, and training business in Woodbridge, VA for several years and then we moved to Fredericksburg in 2012 and opened Paws of Change Training & Behavior. We work closely with dedicated dog owners and local dog rescues and shelters.

Hello, my name is Melissa Chow, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-​KA) and I have been working & volunteering with rescues and previously owned a pet sitting business for the past 10 years. About three years ago I found myself intrigued by the K9 mind and started my journey into Dog Training. My experience has come from all hands-​on experience or in person observation; not on-​line schools. At the beginning of 2012 I created Paws of Change in order to provide positive and compassionate training methods to families and rescues. I have worked with and observed several respected trainers and also attended a well known and respected dog training academy. My approach is positive & affectionate, force-​free, and based on years of research and personal experience. I have a deep compassion and experience with all breeds, and extensive experience training Pit Bulls. I am also a volunteer with my local Pit Bull Rescue, a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
