Cesco’s Famous Palermo Pizza
History
Established in 2007.
Rosalino and Maria Lombardo (Italian Immigrants) came over to the America from Carini, Sicily in 1963. They had 3 boys Pietro, Salvatore, me (Francesco) and living in Brooklyn, NYC. In 1982 our family took over Dominicks Pizzaria, in Newton, NJ, from my fathers sister and brother in law (Anna and Antonino Buzzetta along with their three daughters) whom owned Dominicks pizza since the 70’s. We grew up working together as a family I was 5 and my brothers 16 and 17 years old and we were working everyday.
In 1991 my father bought another restaurant in Sandyston, NJ and it was called Rosies Italian Restaurant. Rosies was a very successful place but having the two business became a real strain on our family so we sold Rosies in 2004. We then were all together again back at Dominicks pizza in Newton. In 2007 we bought what is now Cesco’s Pizza and opened officially on Halloween of 2007. We also opened another Dominicks pizzaria in Franklin, NJ.
