Amtrak is the absolute best way to travel and the Downeaster is no exception. There are multiple daily departures to and from Freeport and it stops just steps away from LL Bean, restaurants, shops, and hotels. NOTE: all Downeaster trains use Boston North Station. You will need to transfer to South station to connect to Amtrak service south to New York, Virginia, and Florida or west to Chicago.
