I ordered take out so I do not know much about the dine-in experience(I’ll need to try it out again), but the sushi was delicious and the online ordering system was simple and intuitive. Judging from the two areas of my experience I give this restaurant 4 stars. Online experience: not all of the sushi rolls have descriptions under their name so in some cases you have no idea what you are ordering. We stick with the rolls that had obvious names(ie spicy tuna) because of this. I liked the variety of vegetarian options on the menu – cucumber, avocado, sweet potato. I did not see a tofu option. I’ve never seen vegetarian options that weren’t just cucumber so I was excited to try the sweet potato(it is tasty, by the way). To make this experience better, the restaurant should consider adding images and descriptions to the menu. Sushi: we had the avocado, sweet potato, the one with mango, rainbow, soft shell crab, and shrimp tempura rolls. I enjoyed all of them. I felt that the veggie and spicy tuna rolls were tiny. I really enjoyed the soft shell crab, the mango(I don’t remember the name), and the shrimp tempura roll. They are on the special roll menu. I have never seen a roll encompass a full crab. The legs were hanging out of the side and it was really cool. I would recommend that roll. None of the rolls were super outstanding, but I enjoyed them all and would go back if I was in the area.

My wife and daughter and I eat at this restaurant nearly every time we visit Freeport. We love it. My wife is particularly fussy about food quality, and this is one of the few places she eats in Maine(and I would emphasize VERY few) where she consistently comes away happy and satisfied. Perhaps the best aspect of this place is that the food is extremely fresh and cooked with little fat. The quality of food for the price is exceptional. As to the prior reviewer, he ordered one of the cheapest lunch boxes, and I cannot imagine why he would expect a large salmon steak for a lunch special.

I heard a review of this place from a friend… they stopped in for supper and had Hibachi Grilled Seafood. I had high hopes, which were completely destroyed when I stopped in several days later for a Bento Box Teriyaki Salmon… *Note — this was a Japanese Restaurant years ago and sat idle for about two — three years I am spoiled by BenKay in Portland. This was disappointing to say the least… The Bento Box consisted of a slightly small overdone Piece of salmon on a bed of shredded lettuce, a half of orange? that was covered still with pith and the seeds left in, which made it inedible. three small pieces of a California Roll are included, which was mushy made gas station sushi seem superior. And a bowl of Fried Rice?! something that I’ve never had served with a Bento Box. I’ve since seen online recipes for Japanese Fried Rice… but please not with a Bento Box. A cup of hot tea was asked for and a mug without handle was brought fresh from the microwave I believe… with a tea bag just popped in. My meal was almost done before I could handle the mug. You can get better Sushi on the go from Hannafords… Will I go back? maybe… but I won’t go out of my way
