Mother of Purl Yarn Shop has a complete line of yarns including wool, cotton, alpaca and many luxury and washable blends including Berroco, Peace Fleece, Noro, Shepherd’s Wool, Kiwi Pop, MadelineTosh, Malabrigo and many more. We feature Maine and New England products as well as a full line of patterns, books, needles and wool roving for spinning and felting. In addition we offer a small needlework area. We are staffed by qualified knitters who can help guide you to the right project for you and we offer many classes and demonstrations throughout the year.

History

Established in 2012.

Mother of Purl was started by Susan and her mother Sharon in the summer of 2012. One year later the store had doubled in size. In February of 2015 Sharon decided to retire and spend more time with her husband and family. Susan and Patty joined forces and continue to have lots of fun welcoming customers from down the street or across the country.

Business Owner

Susan is the creative force behind Mother of Purl and brings her color sense along with her sense of humor to her work. She also brings her little dog Elfie to work as well. Patty brings her years of running a small business to Mother of Purl and combines it with her love of knitting. What could be more fun than working with yarn all day!
