Applebee’s

My husband had a heart attack 4 weeks ago. His dietary needs have changed substantially. After church, we wanted to try to go to a restaurant for the first time since the attack. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate his restricted diet. When we got there, the waitress, Jodi was more than willing to help us figure things out. Then, the kitchen manager came out and gave us further assistance. My husband had a wonderful meal and we couldn’t be more thankful for the kindness and willingness of the staff to make our lunch a lovely experience. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back! AMEN!

Terrible service. I ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp. The chicken was overcooked and very very dry. I asked to exchange it for the enchiladas when the manager came out. The manager was not apologetic or did he seem to care. Two others in my party ordered the same thing and weren’t happy with their meals. They also requested enchiladas instead of the bourbon chicken and shrimp. 25 minutes later after everyone else in our party was finished with their meals they brought 2 enchilada plates out. Mine was not brought out at that time so I asked if they would please bring it to me in a box. 15 minutes later I received my meal in a box. Needless to say I never ate, my water was never refilled, nor was I asked if I would care for another drink. This is the first time I have not left a tip for a waitress. Poor service, poor attitude from the manager. Very disappointed and I’m still hungry.

Went here for dinner the other day and it was not at all packed. Service was not good, which shocked me. Usually I love it here but will never go back to this location. My hubby’s meal was way over cooked. Mine was just ok, but it’s the poor service which will keep me from ever coming back.

Got food poisoning and ended up throwing up all night long after having shrimp, mushroom and chicken skillet dish. Other dishes that came out looked like throw up mush… Not appetizing at all. Service was good though, food was terrible. Will not come back.

Worst service EVER! We sat for over 30 mins before even a drink was offered. It’s now been over 45 mins waiting for food with a practically empty restaurant. Our salads haven’t arrived yet either.
Dinner arrived, but salads didn’t. When asked where the salads were the server then tried to blame the cooks in the back for not letting her know the salads were ready. Will not be back.

Had a wonderful experience tonight having dinner with the in laws as they were visiting out of town. We were quick to be seated, even though we arrived earlier than the rest of our party. The staff was very friendly and patient with us as we moved tables and took awhile to decided on our final meals. Thank you Applebee’s for making our experience a great one!

So clearly this location has only two star average anyways. However, I’ve been here many times and haven’t ever felt the need to Unilocal about it.
Until last night.
Ironically, my initial desire to Unilocal was because of the server we had.
John was excellent. He was incredibly knowledgeable and his suggestions were tailored to our preferences. He went out of his way to explain everything in detail and even suggest some of his very own favorites.
In hindsight we should have listened.
I ordered the riblets for my meal and my boyfriend ordered the baby back ribs. John apologized and reassured us that the food would be coming shortly several times since we waited probably over 35 minutes to get our meals.
When we got the food we were amazed.
Not only were my boyfriend’s ribs overcooked, they were black, charred, burnt. They had hardly any sauce on them. You would think the kitchen would at least slather the ribs in sauce to cover their mistake.
But no, these were inedible.
My riblets literally tasted like boiled meat. Just a pile of boiled meat on a plate.
Needless to say we were very turned off by that and opted to just go.
John took care of us and we ended up only paying for our beers.
If we do come back it will be only for the service and hopefully John can recommend something worth buying.
The kitchen needs some serious evaluation.

Went in with the wife and step-​son Thursday night. I had the chopped chicken salad, the boy had the two burgers off of the kid’s menu, and my wife had a beef special.
The food arrived timely, but my wife’s dish as well-​done; she had requested medium-​rare. We informed the waiter, who put another order in. It seemed to have taken some time, and it came back looking roughly medium rare. That’s because it really didn’t look normal. The outside was cooked, and the inside pink, but there was a clear delineation between the cooked part and the pink part — no graduation in color whatsoever. It didn’t taste good — our feeling is that it was processed, frozen meat rather than a fresh cut.
My salad was passable, although I felt the portion could have been just a bit more generous. The boy’s burgers were tasteless — I wonder if they use a different grade of ground beef for children?
The waiter, who did a good job, was kind enough to take the beef dish off of the bill; and to be fair, the vegetables, etc., that came with the dish were quite good, the meat was just lousy. So the night was somewhat salvaged. But I would make sure any beef dishes ordered here are made from fresh beef.

I come in late for snacks and Diet Pepsi. Kobe meatballs are my favorite! Sometimes I go for a late night dessert… They serve the classics, all good, but their churros are hot and slightly chewy… with melted chocolate and marshmallow dip. At the time I come in service is great. I’ve come in when the place is packed too and they do alright. The staff all fly around and do their best. Don’t be in a hurry at Applebee’s. Enjoy the atmosphere (all new decluttered decorating), enjoy your companions and the FOOD. Yummy. Nice place.

So, I should have known better to begin with, having experienced the «service» at Applebee’s in the past. However, between not being greeted for fifteen minutes in the bar, having to order our entire meal from the tablet already on the table, an employee telling my pregnant wife that they don’t have captions for the football game but «you can just reach up and play with the volume of you want»… I just have no patience for your ish Applebee’s. This better be all star quality food…
UPDATE!
Food was maybe two star caliber. Fries were cold on my nephews plate, vegetables were soggy (soaked in butter) and discolored. I don’t know the name of the young Hispanic female that was our server because she only came to the table once (someone else brought our food) and all she said was «your food ok?»
Just all together disappointed. Football was on and you can’t mess up beer from a keg but cmon. Get your act together. I will not be back to this location.

Maybe it’s just me, but… I was in line at Smart and Final in Fremont, not the cleanest store and their carts are oh so disgusting, which is why I cringed when I saw the lady in front of me at the checkout with her Applebee’s name badge on with a cart full of lettuce just laying in the cart with no plastic bag to protect it from the dirty cart. Just Yuck!

SHITTY SERVICE. It was my dads birthday and normally if you’re a good server you sing along a happy birthday but no we did it ourselves and when we asked for at least a candle they said they didn’t have any. Really? So rude. I don’t remember one smile at all. I’m always a nice customer and was surprised that these people don’t know how to smile or serve.

Service was extremely slow. Server did not know that they did not have backed potatoes until dinner. Did not know their frozen drink machine was broken. It took 30 mins to get appetizers and lunch came at the same time. Place only had guest at 6 other tables. Not coming back. Stake was over cooked frys were soggy. Wither actual said he had a brain fart about the baked potato. Really?

Had a catch up day with a good friend, and we decided wit Applebee’s since it’s local.
First and foremost, the hostess and waitress were absolutely lovely. Best customer service I’ve had in a while. However, the food was a bit disappointing.
we both had the four cheese macaroni and chicken tenders, and my friend ordered her chicken tenders on the side. When we got the order, it was clear they forgot to remove the chicken tenders because there was pasta soup and pieces of the pasta stuck to the chicken, and the chicken flavoring was in the pasta. Also, they forgot to add a breadstick to my dish. The macaroni itself was a little flavorless, and it was definitely a meal that weighed better in quantity than quality.
My rating’s three stars since it is Applebee’s and you can’t really come here with high expectations, but come on, don’t forget to add a part of the meal.

I haven’t been to an Applebee’s in ages! Nothing’s changed except their menu. Looks like they revamped it.

Sriracha shrimp — ack… what a disappointment. Tasted nothing like sriracha. Do they even know what sriracha taste like?
Green bean crispers — only good thing about the meal. They were slightly over done and the green beans were not crispy.
Peppercorn sirloin with whole grains — it was disgusting. I asked for medium well and of course it was cooked well done. The spinach and whole grains were so gross. I don’t know what kind of sauce they cooked it in but I literally spit my food out.
Strawberry Lemonade — how could they possibly mess this up you may ask… Well they did. It tasted like water. I had to send it back and my server replaced it with a Shirley Temple. That wasn’t too good either. I should’ve just stuck with water.
Service was good. I like how they had those little tablets on the tables so you don’t have to chase down your server when you’re ready to leave.

We had great service and good food. The cocktails were super yummy. I haven’t had a steak from there tho that was cooked the way I’ve asked for it, but it was still ok.

I don’t even know if this place deserves a one star! We’ve been waiting for our food for an hour and the only thing we got is our drinks and appetizers. Terrible service

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner out — no particular reason, just because both of us have not gone out to dinner in a while.
We chose Applebee’s because it was nearby and we have not been to an Applebee’s for several years, so we decided to go.
The Staff…
Almost immediately were struck by the «blah» feeling. Yes, it was an «off night» so it was not too busy — but, then wouldn’t you expect the Staff to be more excited and attentive to having you there?
The Food…
Why not just go to the frozen food section of your Grocery Store and buy it there, take it home and throw it in your own microwave or on your own skillet to warm up? Seriously, the food really is «too prepared» for me.
I would also like to note, that both of our different dishes were «over salted» and did taste really salty. I think this must be due to cheap ingredients.
The Conclusion…
We won’t be going back.
Yes, 10 to 15 years ago, Applebee’s was a «hip and fun» place to go.
But, I’m sure that due to many Corporate «restructurings» they have lost their «Zest» and I can’t see going back — too many other new options!

We’ve been sitting at a bar table for almost 15 minutes with no acknowledgment. I asked for the menu myself, and still haven’t had anyone ask us if we’re ready. There are 2 managers on duty, 1 bartender, and 5 waiters.
Edited: In the middle of placing my order, the waiter/​bartender walks away. It’s not even that packed here. And as soon as I posted this. we started getting attention. Funny. I love leaving reviews!

The staff here is very nice. I sat down at the bar over herd Vanessa ask these two older guys if they would like… and she nailed it. They haven’t been in over two weeks. I wish I had a brain like that
