Amazing service! I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else. Sweet and Intelligent young lady who is the smog technician. Her name is Farrah. I had my certificate in my hand after 25min. Great service! Keep up the great work! Will definitely be back with my other cars!

Went in during my lunch hour. Service was great and staff was super friendly and great price. I recommend this place for a fast smog check with great customer service.

Very nice and courteous. Quick service. Gave me a deal for a smog and detail combo. I had to drop off my car and go straight to work. They called me as soon as it was ready and kept it safe and secure over night until I could come back to pick it up.

I really can’t say enough about how great this place is. I didn’t have an appointment but I strolled in at 5:15pm on a Saturday and $ 42 and 10 minutes later, I was done with my smog check, and could go online and renew my car’s registration. Talk about efficient! Auto 1 takes care of electronically submitting the certificate to the DMV, so no need to worry about that. If you’re looking for a smog check, I would highly recommend Auto 1.

Forgot the guy’s name, but he was so nice! He was super honest about mechanics and had a lot of info about dealerships lol great price, I found a coupon on the back of a Safeway receipt and they honored it. Next time dmv needs a smog test, I’ll be returning here!

Worst experience I’ve ever had. Mr guy behind the counter was as rude as it could be. He actually told me my car was old. Then he actually refused my car saying it would be a waste of his time. are u F*cking kidding me!?? I seen your sign in sheet. It’s 3pm and u have had 2 customers all day. When I got here u were chillin on your computer half asleep. I almost lost it and smacked that ass hole in the face.

This is a star certified station. The coupon says 33.95+ $ 8.25 cert, however if your car needs smog for the STAR inspection and not a regular smog… It’s $ 10 more. No where is that written on the coupon. But the guy tells me that they have pay for the new machine somehow… Maybe i have a different opinion of good customer service and the way to do business but this place doesn’t have it.
Update: So come to find out that this guy flat out lied to me. I went to Abc smog and they treated me with respect and gave me an explanation on the difference between Star and test only. Turns out its really the same thing if the station is Star certified. The guy here just lied to me about the extra charge and the machines and all that bs. BUYER BEWARE!

I walked in expecting to see Andy, but he is no longer there unfortunately. Let me just say this new management/​owner is lacking in customer service skills. With so many other choices, I will not come back to Auto 1.

When my DMV renewal form came in the mail and stated I needed to get a smog test, I knew exactly where I was going. I headed over to Auto 1 Smog Test Center on Sunday at 3pm. Although they were already closed (at 2pm), they still welcomed me with open arms and tested my car! Now, THAT’s great service!
Remy and his brother were so cheerful and friendly. They told us they recently bought the store and were remodeling. The waiting area is nice and clean now, unlike before. For $ 48, you can’t beat the experience you’ll get here. :)

This shop is under new management and the service is superb. The service technician is very experienced and the reception is a lot more streamlined for checkin and checkout. I was out within 20 – 25 minutes. Had a chance with the new owner and it seems like he really wants to revamp the reception area to improve customer experience every further.

I’ve been using this place for years, and they have good prices and generally have a short wait. You should be able to find a coupon on their web site (just search for their name.) The only problem I had last year was that the hours on their website didn’t match the one listed on their door. So I had to go to another place up the block that matched their price. So call ahead.
They don’t play games with prices, and lots of other places add onto the price if you get a «test only» notice, even though it’s the same test.

I came in on a Wednesday around 3pm and there was one guy ahead of me who was waiting for his car to be smogged. Between walking in the door and leaving, I was in and out within 15 minutes. I drive a Honda Accord and it cost me $ 42.20 for the smog test; it is $ 2 more than other people had quoted on Unilocal,and I asked the manager about it and he said it’s due to the state raising the price on something so that’s why there was a slight increase in price. I don’t think this is the cheapest deal you could get in town, but the location was convenient, the price was reasonable, and I was in and out of there exactly as I hoped I would be! Some customers complained about the waiting room not being nice, but since when are you going to a smog check business for the ambience?
Btw, before you go in for your smog test, I would recommend running the car on the freeway for 10 minutes or so before heading in.

I would give it minus 5 if I could. The owner/​manager is dishonest or/​and not qualified. Avoid this place!
I brought my Jeep for inspection on July 11, 2013. My Jeep has aftermarket cold air intake system that is CARB certified and the certification EO decal is attached on the system. Manager ran the test and came back asking me to make a payment. Only then he said I failed because of that aftermarket intake system. First, it was dishonest on his part to run test and charge me if visual inspection, in his opinion, failed already. Second, he was wrong and I told him that my aftermaket system is CARB approved, there is proof of this, and it has passed smog test in the past. Manager said the law has changed this year and refused to further discuss it.
Next day I visited CA Air Resources Board webside and printed out the page which listed my system as CA approved. I brought it to the same shop. Manager said that my system lacked EO decal. I brough my Jeep to prove that he was wrong. Here he started to behave really dishonestly: he said that my decal should contain not only CARB certification number but also part number (new requirement according to him). This was invented and false information. Manager refused to look into my papers, to talk to manufacture’s rep on the phone, and acted with ill will.
I got an appointment with smog referee and passed certification without problems. Referee told me that manager of the smog station was wrong. But this error of the manager it cost me many hours of collecting evidence and galons of burnt fuel.
I have strong reason to suspect that this was a deliberate error. Before my visit I made a call and got a quote of $ 42 out of the door. When I came for test receptionist (his wife?) told me $ 50 because they are STAR certified. I told her about my phone call and she reluctantly agreed, but told something in Chinese to the manager. I think that’s why he failed me.

If I could give a minus rating I would, please avoid this business at all costs!!!
I required the new Star certification for 2013, and I found this shop off a quick internet search. Came in on a Friday afternoon, had to wait over 2 ½ hours (for 3 people ahead of me), payed the extremely high price, and failed?
My truck is in very good shape (2002), I asked for the report, to which he said I failed for EGR. My vehicle doesn’t come with a EGR, from the factory (GMC Pickup), I explain this to Andrew Wong, and he shrugs his shoulders and says «Machine says you fail, you fail».
I took my truck down the street by Glenmore and Peralta to the Star certified smog station there. I asked about the requirement of EGR testing, he stated it was not a hard requirement, and that the other mechanic didn’t understand how to properly test (There are different requirements for different makes/​models of cars)
$ 40 and 15 minutes later, I passed with flying colors, and was able to register again this year.
This is my first negative review I’ve written, and I feel strongly enough to HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to stay away from this company. Please avoid like the plague, in talking with 2 other local SMOG shop show owners, Mr. Andrew Wong is not a morally virtuous person.
