Bank of the West

We went to open an account this morning at 9 AM; first one at the bank. We told the manager that we want to open an account. She told us to wait and someone will be with us. Another customer came in, probably had an appointment (I hope), went ahead of us to the banker; not a problem. We continue to wait while the manager walking around, but did not acknowledge that we are still waiting. We approached her and asked her who will be helping us. She said that the one banker will be with us after she finished with the other customer. Meanwhile, the banker and the customer continue to have small talk; hardly doing anything on the computer or any paperwork. The bank was not busy at all; only a couple customers at the tellers. We were sitting there in this big bank and at least 7 employees, but no one came to offer any help. We left the bank 30 minutes later. Of course no one noticed either. I can’t tell about the quality of the tellers but the management is certainly not doing a good job. Customer service is not their strength. We had much better experience in other banks. We definitely will not set foot to that bank again.

I was trying to withdraw two thousand dollars for my upcoming trip. After I got the money, I tried to ask for 3 envelops so I can divide up the money. The teller was like «no, I normally only give out one but you can have 2». Wow, seriously??? Is that how you treat your customer who has been with you for over 12 years? It’s really hard for me to put those bills into one envelope and fold it up. If I were to withdraw 3 one dollar bills, sure, I was being a jerk for asking 3 envelops. Does it mean next time I have to withdraw the money 3 times in order to get 3 envelops??? Unbelievable!!!

This bank sucks! About 2 months after opening a savings acct., I get a call to come in again with all my papers because Mayer Laguardia put the wrong social security number on all my stuff. Ok, whatever. A few months later, I go to the branch and ask why my savings acct is not earning any interest at all. Lorena said she would research it and call me back. It’s been 2 weeks and I never got a call from her. So I call today and she’s not there. Better off taking my money someplace else.

Charged me 5 dollars to cash a check DRAWN ON THEIR OWN BANK. Ran out of ones not impressed

I have seriously never had such a great experience at a bank before. I walked in to open a new checking account. I explained that I had to be back at work soon and he got everything done for me in less than 20 minutes. Fast, effecient and SUPER nice. I am so glad I switched to this bank.
