Tracy’s team did great work on our remodel. We had a huge job (replace all pipes, gut two bathrooms and a kitchen, foundation work, patio/​drainage work, etc.). We’ve been living in the house since March and we love it, especially the walk in shower in the master bedroom and the kitchen.
Tracy really works with you and your budget and he’s a very honest guy. He’ll often suggest ways for you to save money on the job without compromising on quality.
One tip with working with him is to be organized about what you want if you’re particular. If you see anything his team has done that you don’t like, he’s excellent about fixing it quickly.

These guys are probably way too busy, but if you’re a REAL person, with a REAL job, with REAL money, you deserve a reply to your inquiry within 4 days. Just saying…

We bought a new home and shortly after, we found water leaking in on one of my windowsills in the living room during a rainstorm. I got 2 «experts» to evaluate the window and give estimates for getting rid of the leak. I got a little paranoid and discouraged when the one person told me the windows needed to replaced (and his estimate was sky high) and the other said they just needed repair, which he didn’t do. I wasn’t sure how to proceed until one of my hubby’s work colleagues recommended Tracey and his crew. After our initial contact, it took several days before he could come give me an estimate due to his having to leave town for an emergency. Once he did come out, I was impressed with his promptness, professionalism, and pleasant demeanor. Turned out the windows were installed incorrectly, and just needed to reinstalled. The cost seemed reasonable, and after our discussion I felt comfortable with proceeding with the repair. Due to rain we had to postpone the repair once, but as soon as the rain stopped, we were able to proceed. The crew arrived promptly, protected my floors and furniture by covering and moving things, and got to work. They completed the work the same day, just as we were told they would.
It rained the next day, and viola! No water in my living room. We were very pleased with their work. I would definitely use Tracey and his crew again!

I found DCG by sorting through positive reviews on Unilocal,and checking for active licenses on the Contractors State License Board website. I cannot fully express how pleased I am with where my search led me. Tracey and his crew were a dream come true from the initial bidding process to the completion of the job. Tracey was one of three contractors that we solicited bids from to have our kitchen remodeled. He was professional from the onset, providing a prompt estimate that was remarkably fair in price. And while «low price» may often mean «low quality», we could not have been more pleased with the quality of the craftsmanship that Tracey and his foreman, Alex, provided. They met unexpected challenges along the way with creative solutions. Strongly recommended.

It can be stressful trying to discern which contractor is honest and looking out for your very best interest (especially your budget and actually caring about the quality of work being put out). Alex, who was the lead for my site, was very experienced and made great suggestions on the look and execution of our bathrooms. I just moved into my first home, and I am so grateful that I found Tracey Greenwell beforehand!
Mr. Greenwell and his team went above and beyond with painting my walls and refinishing my hardwood floors. In addition, he did a few extra things, like replacing my non-​working doorbell with one that worked and only charged me for parts.
DCG were knowledgeable, professional, timely with work, and just all-​around helpful. I couldn’t have asked for better service, and I’ll be contacting them again to help with other projects down the road.

I will post a follow up when the kitchen remodel is done, but so far Tracey and his crew has been more than helpful. We are first time home owners, and this is our first big remodeling project, but Tracey and his crew were patient to answer each and every question we had, and is willing to address our concerns. His crew was also very friendly to explain things as they did, and they definitely tried to accommodate with us in scheduling to fit our timing, and keeping things clean, especially since we have a baby on the way. I’m looking forward to everything completing soon!

I had some electrical and cosmetic upgrades to a Craftsman house. Tracey quickly assessed the issues and brought his guys out within a day or two to make the repairs. Everything went very well — and the communication — which can be half the battle between contractors and non-​technical folks like me — was easy and clear.
DCG will be my first call for an upcoming remodel and any home issues that need attention.

When my husband and I were in the process of purchasing our first home, I contacted a few local contractors to get estimates on the suggested repairs from the home inspection. When I met with Tracey from Dynamic Construction Group, I knew I had found my contractor. He had great energy, good ideas, and was honest about the cost and timeline for the projects we were considering. He even jumped on the phone with his subcontractors during our appointment to get actual prices, not just ballpark estimates. I was impressed! Once we closed on the house, we got Tracey and his crew working on refitting the house with copper piping, updating some of the electrical work to be GFCI compliant, demolishing and removing a hot tub and gazebo structure, and removing the «popcorn» ceilings in the living rooms. Wow, did they make fast work of it! When I saw how efficient and approachable the crew was and the quickness and quality of their work… I added a few more projects to their «to-​do» list. We decided to swap out a toilet, install a large window in the front of the house, repaint the interior, install three exterior doors and frames, and re-​sod the backyard where the gazebo had been.
Overall, the crew was on site for 3 weeks, completed all the projects, handled the permitting, and never once threw me a curveball about cost or timeline. They even threw in a number of freebies such as removing some overgrown shrubs from the yard, hauling a bunch of my garbage to the dump along with their construction debris, and retexturing all the walls in my house where I had «attempted» to patch over the nail holes that were there when we moved in. The crew was very respectful of me and my home, and made every effort to communicate with me by asking questions or clarifying my requests before diving into the projects. I really enjoyed having them around the house, and they were above and beyond helpful – carrying boxes from my car into the house during the move, helping me store things in the rafters of the garage, offering to haul my garbage, watering my lawn… They left my house cleaner and in better shape than it was when they arrived! I really trust these guys and truly appreciate the hard work and care they put into making our project dreams a reality.
In summary, I had a wonderful, stress-​free experience with Tracey and his crew at Dynamic Construction Group. I would hire them back in a second… and I plan to do just that when it comes time to revamp the kitchen! Do not hesitate to give this local business your projects, large and small. We are thrilled with the results of their hard work and are looking forward to enjoying our revamped and refreshed home.

We REALLY wanted to like /​use /​be thrilled with this contractor as they came highly recommended. Unfortunately, getting them to write back to us or set up an estimate appointment has been excruciating!
We sent out first email to them 17 days ago. As of now, they still haven’t responded with an appointment day /​time for them to come and give us an estimate!
May 26 — We first contacted them for an estimate.
May 29 — They inquired as to when we were available.
May 30 — We responded with «any day, M-​F, between 5AM and NOON.
Jun 1 — Not response from them, we sent another inquiry.
Jun 3 — We received an apology /​promise to set up an appointment.
Jun 11 — Today! — Still no response and no appointment time /​day!
This is a copy /​paste of the email we just sent to DCG:
«We have been waiting to hear back from you since we sent the below email on June 3^rd.
We can appreciate you being inundated with estimate requests. We also run our own business, and know how hectic life can get! That said, (9) days is far too long to wait for the simple courtesy of a return email to set up an appointment!
This is especially true if our intent is to hire you to do hundreds of thousands of dollars in remodeling work on our home! In addition to skill with manual labor and running a team of subs, an excellent remodeling contractor should also have skill in maintaining excellent communication with everyone (including the homeowner) throughout the entire remodeling process.
We’re not here to tell you how to run your business, but, we strongly suggest that you do a better job of communicating with your potential customers! Your Web site reads: «The cornerstone of our company is our belief in relationships based on hard work, cooperation, communication, integrity and trust.»
From our perspective: We haven’t even hired you yet, and already, your company has failed to live up to the beliefs that you are using as selling points! For this reason, it is with regret that we find ourselves unwilling to take our potential relationship with you any further. Please cancel any appointment that you may (or may not have) scheduled for us.

Update: Dynamic Construction Group just responded to our email with an apology. Apparently, they were out of town and just returned back this morning. For the fact that they responded at all: +1 star. The email that they sent was well-​written and they understood that communication breakdown on their part had just cost them a new client and a significant amount of income. Lesson learned gets them another +1 star.

Dynamic Construction Group exceeded our expectations. We started out with a different contractor and our experience went from hopeful to an expensive nightmare. If it wasn’t for Dynamic Construction Group we probably would not have a live able home right now. Tracey and his people came into our home and completely transformed our house into a beautiful place in a timely and professional manner. They will always be our first choice when engaging in a construction project & I would refer DCG to anyone looking to enhance their home or place of business. Thank you DCG!

I was very impressed with Tracey and give him 5 stars. He is responsive to both phone and email inquiries, and punctual when it comes to appointments. He is honest and thorough. Well-​connected in the industry, he’ll recommend specialists in other trades that can do the job well and save you money.

I am truly thankful for the day that we chose Dynamic Construction Group to perform the necessary construction for our school. Their experience and knowledge doesn’t stop with just construction, but also covers city regulations, permitting, and zoning requirements needed to get the job done. They knew what needed to happen, at what point, and what needs to be done to ensure the successful completion of the entire project.
They took on our school project as if it was their own personal project. I was able to sleep better at night (literally) knowing that they had everything under control. Any obstacles that came our way, they were able to find a solution to help keep us on track. And the BEST part about it was they were able to keep our costs down. The quote they gave me at the very beginning was lower than any other quote I received AND they kept the cost for that work consistent through completion of the project (NO HIDDEN COSTS). That was important to us since we are a non-​profit.

If it were possible to give an extra star for how much DCG stood apart from other contractors I had checked out for a bathroom remodel — I’d give 10.
I had begun checking out contractors over 1 year ago as my mother began to consider adding a «walk-​in tub» feature to her bathroom. This was a project that would require a complete tear out and rebuilding of her bathroom so I wanted to make sure she chose the best person for this job. In the past, she’s had experience with work that needed to be redone only a few years later so I acted as the middle person in talking to EVERYONE she was considering.
I can not express how grateful I am that DCG came into the picture — I had seriously felt hopeless in feeling that we would either never get this work done or would have to hire someone that was either flaky, dishonest or both. I had people who were responsive for a week or so and would not show up for appointments to give quotes, a contractor who came and gave a quote that kept changing and when asked to breakdown the numbers sent a breakdown including minimal information, an individual who came by and took 3 months to get back to us with a quote… the whole gamut.
Tracey — the lead contractor for DCG is incredible. A very honest, talented and personable guy. He showed up ON TIME for every appointment as did his crew, he gave a thorough and detailed quote to my mother and it is hard to miss that he always, always has the best interest of his clients in mind.
One example of this is, my mother went to a location for a quote on a vanity to add to her bathroom. Tracey had gone to the same place and because of his working relationship with this vendor, the final quote he was able to get saved my mother almost 30% on the necessary purchase. The fact that he passed along the savings from his working relationships was very refreshing experience coming out of talking to contractors who did not even have transparency with their own labor costs let alone a vendors cost.
Choose DCG — I’m telling you, you’ll be on here writing a review by the time he’s done!

I interviewed several contractors when I was ready to do a significant remodel on my Victorian house in Berkeley. I chose Dynamic Construction Group because of Mr. Greenwell’s experience and references. Luckily, my expectations were met with a high degree of honesty and workmanship. The crew arrived on time, they kept the job-​site safe and worked continuously on my job until it was completed. Mr. Greenwell managed all of the subcontractors and met with the building codes inspectors. He dealt with me and my architect in a very professional manner. A job like this always involves changes along the way and we were able to negotiate the added expenses in a fair and equitable manner.
Subsequently, I have hired Dynamic Construction Group to do two other smaller jobs on my property and each time I felt satisfied with our ability to communicate and keep the job moving. I’m sure that I will be calling on them again at some time in the future.

My lucky star must be shining over my head when I was referred to Mr. Greenwell for my remodeling needs. He is personable, honest, and pleasant to work with. What I like the most is there’s no surprises on the quote he gives you. He will find ways to save you money and still get the job done. He is doing work for my second house now. That should tell you what kind of company he’s running.

Finding an honest general contractor who does good work is becoming a rare combination. Luckily for those of us in the Bay Area we have DCG. Tracey Greenwell and his team at DCG have done several jobs for me and my Dad including building a Media room, kitchen remodel, hardwood floor installation and many other fixes here and there. In every job Mr. Greenwell made customer satisfaction his top priority and he completed the job with high quality and a smile. He’s certainly my go-​to general contractor.
