For Paws Spay & Neuter Clinic

Rescued a dog 7 years ago, could not afford to have him neutered and vaccinated. For Paws did it within a reasonable price, and were absolutely wonderful. Last year, 2015, a stray kitten found it’s way to my yard. Went to For Paws again for help, was told how to trap him and then took him in to have him neutered and chipped. Once again For Paws was absolutely wonderful. The people there are great and helpful.

Not much I can add to other reviews. This was the 2^nd time I have brought stray cats in. The staff is very friendly and caring. They are only open a few days a week, but I got an appointment in less than a week and on a Monday. Neuter and micro chip cost $ 65. Much less than my regular vet would charge. Micro chip has no extra charges unlike some other types. They do a great service for the community and should be commended for all their hard work. Both kitties are now inside only cats.

Awesome place to take your pets for different services. I have taken both my bunnies here to be spayed and each time my little guys were taken care of. The women who work here are very nice and make sure your animals are attended too.

Experience was great! Brought my two bunnies in for a neuter and they were in and out in a matter of hours. The woman that checked me in was very polite and even asked how far I had come from home. Since I came from Pleasanton she said she would have the bunnies high on the list so I wouldn’t have to sit in 680 traffic around 2:00! I thought that was awesome. Bunnies did great during their appointment and were given a dose of pain meds right before I picked them up. They were up and eating as soon as we got home and have been great ever since!

My 9 year old corgi needed to be neutered and after searching for several cheaper alternatives than the vet, I settled on for paws. I was lucky enough to get an appointment on short notice thank to other cancellations. The staff were extremely helpful, understanding and knowledgable. I was able to save over $ 300 from my vet and I can’t recommend these guys enough.

We were very happy with the service provided. The staff is warm, kind and answered all of our questions immediately. The price is unbelievably low and I checked with at least 4 other places in terms of pricing. We decided against all the other places in Hayward (due to so many negative reviews) and came here. I’m glad we did and it was well worth the drive. I highly recommend taking your pet here. They are honest, kind and our animals came back healthy and well taken care of.

We’ve had all 3 of our bunnies, spade and neutered here. Staff is compassionate and kind. The bunnies are all so well looked cared for. We come down from Berkeley and they have always made sure to have our bunnies ready to take home by 2pm so we aren’t caught in rush hour traffic.
We go home with clear care instructions and they are always available for questions.

Best place for my puppy Koda. I had a Min Pin/​Terrier mixed breed puppy who is almost about 6 months old. He was being neutered today and Holly was the one who helped us out today. She was great because she really tried to take care of Koda as he was sort of drawing back when she tried to pet him. She also was very cautious about him being scared and nervous. Holly made sure she was able to take care of Koda and called me ahead of time to let me know when to start heading over to come pick him up. After picking him up she personally gave me her cell phone number to text her right away if Koda has any problems.
Koda is now in recovery with his cone. So far so good. They even cut his nails for us!
They were able to find out that Koda had a behavior issue and was super great and reassuring that it was addressed to us, as well as letting us know what to do to help fix the problem. They even had another vet come in to help to get Koda out of the cage when he was being stubborn so that she didn’t have to call me back to come in and help since I was coming from Daly City.
Price of our visit was $ 162.

What a great place! I’m sure my kitten Polly thinks differently. Great people who are genuine and sincere regarding caring and treating of your pet. Very informative doesn’t try to push unneeded treatments. I had went to a neighborhood vet clinic just for spayed treatment was going to cost $ 125.00. I highly recommend this clinic.

Really friendly and nice staff. I called to make an appointment to get my 15 month old German Shorthaired Pointer neutered, and there were some scheduling conflicts, but they got back to me promptly and were able to answer my many questions.
Dropped my dog off at 9am, filled out some paper work and said my good byes. They said pick up will be around 4−6pm, but I let them know we are available to pick him up as early as 2pm. During the pre-​op exam, they found a mild heart murmur and called immediately to let me know about it and asked how I would want to proceed as there is a slightly added risk when going under anesthesia with a murmur. Everyone was so professional and knowledgeable, and I could tell they truly care about all the animals. I got a call as soon as he was out of surgery and in recovery, and we picked him up at 3:30pm. We were sent home with all his post op care instructions as well as pain medication and an e-​collar.
If your dog is very hyper, they can also prescribe you Ace (tranquilizer) to help keep him calm while recovering. The doctor insisted we do not give our dog this as it causes blood pressure changes and could be dangerous with a heart murmur. So far, he is doing well. We are very happy with the staff and service.

If you need a dog or cat to be spayed or neutered, this is the place to go. It’s not a «fun» experience, but it’s part of being a «responsible pet owner.» They are very friendly, love animals, and it’s inexpensive.

I took Boomhauer here yesterday to be neutered. He’s already trying to run around and jump on everything. The staff is great! So nice and caring! Love them! Very thorough with the after care and medication instructions. Very affordable!!! For my Maltese/​Yorkie mix, 8 mos old, and one tooth extraction everything came out to $ 140. I was honestly prepared to pay $ 600 from what I’ve heard from other pet owners. They also cut his nails! This place is great and I’m surprised that not everyone goes here!

I highly recommend For Paws. You can tell the people that run this place really love animals. I felt so comfortable dropping my pup off here for his Neuter op. After the op Holly discovered some brownish opaque markings on my puppy’s cone which I didn’t even notice but she went to the back and inquired about the marks and cleaned them off (one of his puppy teeth fell out). I thought that was so kind of her to be so attentive to the little details. She helped me out to my car as well! The clinic is very clean and the kennels the pups are kept in before and after surgery are also extremely clean. Prices are AMAZING… loved my experience here.

Affordable and caring. I have had 3 puppies, 2 yorkies and a poodle mix, spayed and neutered here. Holly and Dr. Bonnie are the best. I would leave my pets here anytime and feel comfortable they are in good hands.
Everything from exam to procedure to recovery to post op care were explained in detail.
I referred my brother here after his vet wad quoting approximate charges of 500 dollars at a minimum. He was pleased as well and thanked me for the referral.
Check in time is anywhere between 9am to 10am. Pick up time is between 4p and 6p. For my girl who is 10lbs I paid 150. For my boy who is 6 lbs I paid 160 but that included 4 baby teeth extractions too. I got a bonus and they cut their nails while under anesthesia. Microchip is 15. Can’t beat these prices.

I had a very good experience with For Paws itself during the time I was there. Service was great, the lady checking us in was very friendly and attentive and my rabbit was done when they said he would be.
My concern is they insisted that rabbits do not need pain medication when they go home. Unfortunately I learned that this is not true at all and that rabbits are more sensitive to pain than dogs or cats. My poor little guy would not eat for the next day and a half which is really dangerous for rabbits as their GI track can shut down. I ended up having to take him to urgent care the next day to get pain medication and anti-​nausea meds and the Vet was appalled we weren’t sent home with pain medication.
I tried to save a few bucks by coming to For Paws which is $ 80 for rabbits, but ended up paying another $ 240 with the vet the next day. I could have just gone to the vet for the neuter for $ 206 which includes pain meds and everything else you may need for the rabbit’s healing. My attempt to save a few did not pay off this time.
For rabbits I would recommend going to your local vet instead unless you can convince For Paws to provide pain meds when you leave. I feel badly for all the bunnies hurting after learning they are so sensitive to pain. I do think For Paws is a nice and efficient business though and maybe is fine for dogs and cats.

Im so happy my vet told me to go here! I have a 2 year old German Shepherd and for some reason my vet was really nervous to spay my dog esp cause she’s too mature and old. Every where I called to asked for a quote they was going to charge me from $ 350 – 500? idk why such a over charged price. I was at my ends until i talked to my vet about a better place to spay my dog because i really wanted my baby spay before she had her period again esp cause it’s so time consuming when she’s on it. So I called in and made appointment and the lady on the phone was really sweet! She inform me with all the details before I came into the appointment date.
The day of the appointment, this place was pretty small when i walked in with my fiancé and my dog. At first the lady who greeted us was really NICE and she showed us that she cared about all the animals. Before we left she told us the total can range from $ 200 – 325. So the price wasnt too bad in my opinion better than the other prices everyone else was giving me! So we drop off our dog at 9am when they open and i got a call at about 10:30am that my dog was done and out of her surgery! I was so surprise that it was done so fast! :) Picked my baby up right away and she was out of it but she was well taken care of!
Before taking her home they told me that the spay was $ 325 so i was fine with paying that much and to my surprise they give me a Holiday Discount that they were doing for the month of December! My total came down to $ 260! I was so happy esp cause i save so much money! PLUS THE MEDS WAS FREE AND THEY CUT HER NAILS FOR FREE FOR ME!
This place is such a hidden GEM! But too be honest those are always the best place to go too! I hope you find this review super helpful! And trust me you wont regret going here at all! The whole staff know what they are doing!

Found this place on Unilocal.Definitely deserves all 5 stars! We took in our Labrador puppy Zazu in for neturing. The staff were wonderful, they really seemed to genuinely care for our pets. Zazu recovered quickly and is doing awesome. The place is very reasonably priced and they gave us a 20% discount which was totally awesome! If you love your pets you definitely want to take them here.

Small spay/​neuter clinic located along Fremont Blvd in a small shopping plaza across some neighborhoods. It’s nothing fancy, but who cares?!
I came here to get one of our foster dogs neutered. He was a former stray and has a very timid temperament with a strong bolting instinct but the staff here had no issues handling him.
Scheduling was fairly easy — I called & was able to get my dog scheduled in for the following week. On the day of, I had a volunteer drop off my baby between 9−10AM, and I picked him up around 6PM. For me, the AM drop-​off time was challenging because both my husband & I are already at work by 8AM. Most hospitals I’ve worked with will start admitting their spay/​neuter patients around 7AM, but this clinic opens later, at 9AM.
The staff here is responsive & always available via phone for updates. Once they are finished operating on your baby, they will give you a call with a pick-​up time. They give you detailed, post-​surgery instructions at the time of pick-​up, and even CARRIED my dog to my car! My baby boy’s surgery site looked great & they used glue to close him up so there was no need for a post-​surgery check-​up to remove any sutures! YAY!
The neuter was $ 125 (for a 15 lb dog — price varies depending on weight), microchipping was $ 15, e-​collar was another $ 15, and fecal was $ 25 (with same-​day results). They also gave us some free pain-​killers. I’ve gotten much cheaper rates before in southern California, but this was the cheapest place I could find up here.
I would highly recommend getting ANY medical procedures for your babies done here.

My mom’s friend got her dog spayed for $ 600 and she is a tiny tiny dog. I was told the bigger the dog the more expensive and I knew right away we couldn’t pay $ 600. My puppy is a German Shepherd and she’s about 7 months old right now. She weighs 38 pounds. We got all her shots at the Fremont Pet Shelter (near the Main Library and police station) and they recommended we go to For Paws. We took my puppy in at 9 and she got her first shot, then 30 minutes later her second which was the sedate. She fell asleep then we left. They called me and told me I could come get her so I went back and got her at 1:30 PM. It was $ 170 for the whole thing. The people were super sweet and nice. They even let me have a collar for my puppy. Definitely recommend everyone to come here. It’s affordable and you feel safe letting them handle your pet!

I love this place! Super affordable and accommodating. I’m a new puppy owner and had no idea where to go to get my puppy spayed other than the vet’s (which was quoted at about $ 300) my Italian greyhound was spayed and microchipped at $ 175.
Drop off time is between 9am-​10am and they call you for a pick up time once the procedure is complete. Holly was so wonderful. When I came to pick up my Butter, Holly thoroughly went over post care information. She also carried Butter to my car because Butter had an accident in her blanket and Holly didn’t want to get me dirty. She was very very considerate and I was able to ask her more questions than I could ask my vet. Holly also called the next day to follow up and see how Butter was doing.
I took her advice on how to give Butter her pain meds and antibiotics and she recovered in no time. Seriously, she was up and about the next morning.
Butter also received a free nail trim and they also looked at her teeth to make sure everything was ok. I would definitely recommend this place and come back if I should need any of their services.
