Fremont Vision Source serves the Fremont, NE and surrounding area with all of your family’s eye examinations, contact lenses and eye glass frames. Comprehensive Eye Examinations: Our comprehensive eye examinations evaluate your eyes, both inside and out, for any potential disorders or diseases. Your visual skills and abilities are carefully evaluated and appropriate treatment is prescribed — whether it’s medication, lenses or low vision rehabilitation. All of our doctors have extensive training and are prepared to handle whatever your eye care needs may be. Technology is rapidly changing the eye care industry. We utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment and are committed to keeping up with whatever advances will come next. Contact Lenses: We have been fitting specialty contact lenses for years and have seen some incredible changes in that time. By far the most exciting changes have occurred in the last few years. Although rigid contact lenses are a shrinking segment of the industry, we still have a large number of patients who wear them. The gas-​permeable lens materials available today far surpass those available just a few years ago in terms of eye health and comfort. Allergies can be particularly annoying to contact lens wearers. In the past many people had to quit wearing their lenses for a month or two during the allergy season. New lens materials and allergy medications have made it possible for these people to eliminate itchy eyes…

History

Established in 1948.

Our practice has been serving the Fremont community since 1948. The practice was opened by Dr. Paul Todd, who later transferred ownership to his son. Dr. Robert Todd continued his father’s legacy while integrating advancing eye care technology into our well-​established and respected practice.

In 2011, Dr. Robert Todd transitioned the practice to Dr. Amy DeVries. Our practice has remained in the same location and we are recognized for our quality patient care and longstanding presence in the community.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. DeVries is originally from Canon City, Colorado. She graduated from Texas Tech University cum laude in honors studies with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. DeVries earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. While attending optometry school, she served as a class officer and was chairperson for the Department of Community Health.

Dr. DeVries has received honors in primary care, pediatrics, and low vision. She completed her optometric internships at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, the Center for the Partially Sighted in Santa Monica, and the Kaiser Permanente of Baldwin Park. Her training provided her the opportunity to evaluate and manage many complex cases and gain experience in several optometric specialties including pediatrics, contact lenses, and ocular disease diagnosis and management.

She is a Fremont Chamber of Commerce member and also active in both the American and Nebraska Optometric Associations.
