I have been a patient here for over 20 years. I have stayed with the same hygienist this whole time, Dana. I used to hate going for dental appointments until I started going here. Since I’ve been here, I have never had any issues. There is very seldom any wait time, if anything, maybe 5 minutes. Can’t complain about that! Dana, Amy, and the rest of the staff there are extremely pleasant. I highly recommend going to Dr. Cheng’s.

Best dentist I have ever had! After searching and settling for mediocre dentist, I am thrilled to have found a dentist that I plan to use forever. :)
Dr. Cheng is knowledgeable and a great dentist. He extracted my 4 wisdom teeth without having to put me under and I was back to eating solids within a few days. If this isn’t a testament to his expertise, I don’t know what is.
My husband who has very high standards of customer service is beyond happy with this great find.
All around I can’t recommend this office enough. :)

I’m one of those crazy dental-​anxiety people. After avoiding all but emergency dental care for the past five years or so, I have a bunch of issues that could not be put off any longer.
I basically picked Dr. Cheng’s practice based on their Unilocal reviews (my insurance is a PPO so they pay regardless of network).
So far I’ve have one root canal and have to go back for a lot more work. The office does provide nitrous (gas) sedation and I believe Dr. Cheng will prescribe oral sedation like Valium after a consult/​discussion. They do not offer IV sedation. My experience was as good as a root canal could be. I can’t get too flowery about it because hey, it’s someone drilling into your teeth!
Dr. Cheng and his staff are all very kind and professional. Christy (I think that is her name?) the chair side dental assistant is a saint — she gave me a teddy bear to hold when I got upset. The ladies at the front desk have been very thorough in explaining my benefits so far.
I’ll keep on coming back here until my smile is in tip-​top shape again.

Being on time is very important at any office. My bf is currently a pt here and he has never been seen on time. His longest wait time was 40min. Today I went in with him because we had to be somewhere right after, it was suppose to be a quick appt. He waited about 10 min, which wasn’t bad according to him. While we sat there, another guy asked if he will be seen anytime soon as he has already been waiting for more than 30 min. When we left, he was still waiting, which brings his total to 50. That is not professional. My dentist rarely ever runs behind and if he does, it is because the pt before me was late. His receptionist would call if there is a delay and an option of rescheduling is given if the wait time is more than 15min. It’s probably not an issue if the pt is retired or not working but that guy kept saying he was on his lunch hour and that he would have not scheduled if he knew. Based on what I heard from a few other of his pts, it seems to be a frequent thing. Schedule a little extra time for each pt so this doesn’t happen every day. I know we won’t be going back, I have a feeling many others would think twice about it too. 3 stars because once you are in the chair, my bf said things are great. I hope they will adjust things because time is money for everyone.

Dr. Murakami retired at the end of 2014, and this practice is now just Dr. Cheng. From my perspective as a patient, this transition has been very smooth, and I’m happy to continue being a patient of Dr. Cheng’s (my first appointment in 2015 was not the first time I’d seen him, though I did usually see Dr. Murakami in the past).

I visited Dr. Cheng on a referral from a friend. I needed a second opinion and wanted a dentist I could trust. Dr. Cheng asked lots a questions, examined my teeth, and came up with an alternative treatment within a very short time. His painless treatment helped me avoid two unnecessary root canals and saved me a lot of money. I can’t thank him enough.

I would highly recommend Dr Cheng for any dental work. He is a kind, friendly and a true professional. His work is top notch, his staff is top notch and his charges are more than reasonable. I have recommended Dr Cheng to my family members and friends. Dr Cheng came to my rescue when a cap fell off and my normal dentist could not help me on an emergency bases, but Dr Cheng went out of his way to get my cap fixed and I have not stopped using his dental service ever since. I’ve been going to this dentist for about 20 years… I did try a different dentistry in Livermore when I lived there but nothing is as best as this dentistry! So lucky I communte to Fremont that I can go back to ths denistry and continue to many more years to come!!! Thank you for all your patience over those years!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Murakami (and now Dr. Cheng) for over 20 years. My family grew up coming to Dr. Murakami. The doctors are the best there is! I do not like going to the dentist but the entire staff treat you like you are their family, listen to your concerns, fears etc and do everything to make you as comfortable as possible — which THEY DO!!!
From the reception staff, to billing/​insurance, hygienists and assistants — they are all great. Some of the gals have been there as long as I’ve been coming to this office and we reminisce about families etc every time I go in. The newer staff still treat you like they’ve known you forever as well.
Dr. Murakami and Dr. Cheng are very gentle, understanding, kind and they listen to you — your fears of whatever procedure you may be having. I drive over 30 minutes just to see them. You cannot go wrong here — they are the best.
