I met Maria at a local art festival and her jewelry caught my eye. Her specialty is designing jewelry with crystals, semi-precious stones and sterling silver. I bought a piece, intending to wear it for my wedding. It was a beautiful and uniquely designed blue gray moonstone necklace with turquoise crystals. When she found out I was buying it to wear for my wedding(my something blue,) she gave me her card and told me that if I changed my mind and wanted to wear something else or desired to have a piece designed, she would be willing to exchange what I just purchased. I realized later that it was her polite way of telling me that she felt my selection wasn’t suitable for a bride! I thought about what she said and gave her a call to schedule an appointment. I told her I loved that the necklace was unique but what would she have in mind for a bride? She told me that if I wanted to still have a necklace in that design, she would like to use white moonstone and showed me a couple of white moonstones she had in her collection. Maria said that she was going to a gem show that weekend and, if I was interested, she would look specifically for white moonstone. Maria was so passionate about the beauty of white stone and how it would make a beautiful bridal necklace that I told her I would be open to seeing how it would all work out. Maria and I met a couple more times. Each time, she made sure that I loved what she was doing or, if she sensed apprehension, would suggest other things until I was really happy with the necklace. She ended using the design from the original necklace I bought but with completely different colored stones and crystals. And she was right! It is absolutely perfect for my beach wedding. It is a touch fancier than the other necklace and still had hints of blue from the crystals and white moonstone. Maria genuinely loves designing jewelry and loves people! She wants to make sure her customers love the pieces she makes. Her prices are reasonable, considering that she wants your input so you that you are in love with the jewelry and that she puts her all into every piece she makes. If you want inexpensive, I suggest you buy something premade. But if you want something unique and obviously created by an artist, Maria is the designer for you!
