We’ve lived in Fremont for over 20 years and until we found Mission Peak we did not have a community that we felt we belonged to. This is a fabulous group of intelligent caring people who are welcoming and accepting of everyone. Our minister is relatively young and is leading the congregation to do more and be more of a presence in the community. We’ve lived here in Fremont for 20+ years now and had always had trouble finding a sense of ‘community’ here… until we found Mission Peak. We’ve been members now for 5 years or so and it just keeps getting better. This is a fabulous group of intelligent, open minded, caring people. We have a new, young, energetic minister who is leading the congregation in exciting new directions. I never thought I would so look forward to going to church. I was raised secular so didn’t always feel comfortable in churches but this one is so open, friendly, welcoming. .. . I just love it!

When my young child came home from her new public school talking about religious icons she’d never before heard of, and saying that she «loved them», I decided that it was time to get her involved in a religious education/​Sunday School of MY choosing. I wanted a place that would teach her all the beliefs that she would encounter as a citizen living in the broader Fremont community, without telling her that one was «right» and one was «wrong». See, my kid has that «a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing» personality going on, and will take a right and wrong position with just about everything, broadcasting it to everyone she encounters, including the kids from other countries and faiths that share her kindergarten class. What I found was MPUUC, which is super-​welcoming and provides opportunities to get involved in not only the children’s program but in a lot of community issues and congregational support groups as well. There are many spiritual beliefs here, and as a liberal Christian that studies things from both spiritual and historical perspectives I don’t usually fit into a lot of Christian churches once I open my mouth, so I’m glad that I found a place where I feel comfortable too.

Awesome congregation. Whatever you practice or don’t in spirituality, it’ll work here. Very welcoming. My daughter loves the kid programs. we love the social events, community garden and coffee. My base practice is Buddhism and it’s very welcomed here.
