St. Joseph School is dedicated to providing a strong Catholic religious formation and a quality academic education for students in grades TK through 8 in an ethnically diverse community. Students, parents, educators and parish community strive to empower our students to be service minded leaders for church and community. Service to others is a powerful component of St. Joseph School.
The school is dedicated to fostering each student’s relationship with God and others and the educational program is directed toward the growth of the whole child: spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and psychological.
To accomplish this end there is a multitude of student services including comprehensive Physical Education, Art history, Music, Reading Enrichment and Spanish programs, Special Needs, Extended Day Care program, Choir, Drama, Glee, Ecology, and Math clubs, 6th and 8th Grade Science Camps, library, field trips, school counseling, and a variety of CYO sports.
History
Established in 1960.
The school opened in September 1960 with 100 students and 2 Dominican sisters as their teachers. Kindergarten was added in 1987. A library was added in 1994. In 1997, St. Joseph School became a National Blue Ribbon School. Early in the school year 2013 – 2014, the Dominican Kindergarten was fully incorporated into Saint Joseph School with a beautiful new facility and play area.
Rooted in the Dominican spirit and tradition of excellence and truth, the school is committed to instilling Gospel values and providing a nurturing, faith-filled environment that strengthens the individual’s self-worth, appreciates diversity and encourages caring interdependence.
