We specialize in personal in-​your-​home pet care. We offer overnight pet sitting, we can take care of horses and barn animals, we take care of birds, fish, and reptiles. We offer dog bathing, trips to the dog park, and we can teach and certify pet owners in Pet First Aid and CPR.

History

Established in 2005.

Rick Delgado started The Woof Pack after he got his Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University. He did dog walking and petsitting while he went to school, and after he graduated he started his business as he really enjoyed what he was doing and was really good at it.

The Woof Pack started out servicing Fremont, Newark, and Union City, but quickly grew and expanded into Hayward, San Leandro, and Castro Valley. The business continues to grow year over year, and we are currently expanding and now serving Pleasanton and Dublin.

Business Owner

Richard was an athletic child. Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, he played ice hockey from the ages of 5 to 13. He also played football, ran track, and lifted weights. As a child, Richard’s family had dogs and birds, and often rescued stray cats.

Moving to California at the age of 17, he worked several jobs including automotive painting. He quickly went on to manage the shop. Richard returned to school and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Conservation Biology (volunteering at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito).

Richard is a pet lover himself, currently caring for his dog Storm, and cat, Emily. He is also now caring for a Tennessee Walking Horse named Ginger. After pet sitting and walking dogs for extra money while working toward his Biology degree, Rick started The Woof Pack at the end of 2005. Rick loves caring for animals, with over 20 years experience. Rick is a Pet First Aid and Safety Instructor with Pet Tech, the leader in the Pet First Aid and Safety industry.

We have been using the Woof Pack (mostly Leyda but sometimes Rick and once Steve) to watch our Macaw and our kitties over the past two years. We cannot be happier with the service we receive. Leyda is kind, attentive and spoils our pets as if they are her own. Everyone is well fed, pampered and care for to a level that is beyond what we can dare hope for from a paid service. Leyda sends us text messages, writes us notes, and tells us stories about her time with our pets so that we know she really takes the time to be with our pets. She always takes time to ask about changes, updates and new routines, adjusts to anything that is new with the pets and is so flexible and wonderful.
We have tried to use other companies before but we will never have to consider having anyone else baby sit our family again! Thank you so much Woof Pack!

These guys are so cool that when they couldn’t accommodate me they gave me 3 awesome referrals that THEY would trust. Who does that? They answered me in less than 30 minutes when they were clearly walking doggies and busy. And put together a way for me to still have adequate dog care. That’s a professional crew

We have been using the Woof Pack for the last couple years when we go on family trips and cannot take our bulldog babies along. They have watched our little girl since she was a pup and have been taking care of our eldest as well and he is a handful!
The care and commitment that they show when you are away is beyond what you pay for. Most recently, my husband had work travel and I already had family obligations, they changed our reservations on short notice to accommodate the change of plans and when my flight was delayed and I did not have phone service, they took it upon themselves to go check on them again until I could get in contact them and let them know that I landed and would be able to continue care!
Their entire team are a huge relief and I always know that our babies are in good hands.

Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! I had a horrible accident and broke my neck. I needed someone to care for my 2 cats right away! The Woof Pack stepped right in, coming every day for 4 months! My cats were so well taken care of! I’m still healing but am back home. I can’t say enough good about The Woof Pack! I highly highly highly recommend them! I’m forever grateful to them for their excellent care!!!

From the moment I called with a last minute holiday pet sitting need the woof pack was so caring and helpful. They quickly found a way to fit me in and schedule my free consult. I have never used a pet sitter before and when Rick and Eileen came by they eased any worries. Eileen cared for my two kitties so well. She even took the time to text me an update and multiple pictures and videos each day. My usually shy cat warmed up to her instantly. I highly recommend the Woof Pack. We have used them for a year but recently stopped because we moved. THey were very reliable and always were able to accomodate changes with short notice. There was never a time that they couldn’t watch our dog. The overnight stays were great too and we had a very long detailed note from Rick as well as text messages with pictures while we were gone.

Kathy helped walk my puppy, Riley, for a couple months. I used the coupon offered here on Unilocal and it was well worth it! I needed help with my puppy because I was working the graveyard shift and seeing patients for class/​clinicals at the same time. Now that I’m done with all my requirements for my BSN, I can now walk Riley a little more without feeling like a zombie. LOL. The staff is friendly and highly recommend them if you need a little help with your furry friend =D

The WoofPack is a great pet sitting operation. They have always taken great care of my cat BB. It is a professional operation that does a great job feeding, playing, and keeping my cat happy while I am away. Been using them exclusively since 2011. I’ve been using Woof Pack for several years now both for my dog and cat. We love them for overnight and day visits. I don’t trust my fur babies or home to anyone else. They take the best care of our elder pup (she takes several medications and requires extra care) and they are kind, gentle, and patient with her. I HIGHLY recommend them. And they leave my home nicely cared for too!

Excellent! our very pampered Golden Retriever was walked daily (twice!) and given plenty of love by Kathy. This nervous dog mom received email updates on her girl every day (yes I’m a nut) and a written log of her adventures. I will definitely use again!

Having The Woof Pack just an email away has been our saving grace since my partner and I moved to Fremont without knowing anyone and, thus, having no assistance with our dog. Over the last year and a half Kathie (plus Rick a few times) has provided all the care our dog has needed so we could work long hours or still travel on the weekends/​over holidays. We had a very old and large St. Bernard, and Kathie never minded the hair, slobber, mess, or work required to pill him and meet his needs.
They are absolutely dependable and worth every penny. I never once had to worry that my dog was not receiving his food, water, or very important medications.
Sadly, our dog passed away recently so we won’t be needing their services. But I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional service for their animals.

I highly recommend The Woof Pack. I have 3 dogs who aren’t the friendliest bunch and are very particular about anyone new. When the sitter came over for the first time, she knew exactly how to handle new dogs… Treats! I immediately felt very comfortable after meeting her and the owner. I knew my dogs were in good hands.
They are very reasonably priced. I had contacted another service, Candy’s Pampered Pets, and they wanted to charge me $ 50 more for the same job! No thanks!
I will be using The Woof Pack every time I need a pet sitter. It’s so nice to have people you trust to take care of your «kids» while you go out of town!

Finally, a service that can be trusted.
I went through 3 pet sitting services. The first just left the patio door open for the dogs. One night, I’m in Pennsylvania at 2 AM and get a call from a neighbor that they found one of my 3 dogs. We called a friend and he found the other 2. They’d broken through our fence at night. We got cameras after that. The second service had a walker that would just rendezvous with her boyfriend in our house — we had cameras!
The third service started out ok, but was sold soon after to someone who (in my opinion) didn’t follow up on her walkers. They got unreliable quickly, not showing up, or coming late and just letting the dogs out. I didn’t need cameras to tell me the dogs hadn’t been exercised.
By the time we interviewed Rick, I was pretty skeptical. Fast forward 8 months and I have to say the Woof Pack has been really reliable and conscientious. I get notes if anything interesting happened. Dogs love the walkers. And I know from talking to them that Rick holds them to standards and keeps track. There’s no one at home for about a total of 3 weeks a year and I can honestly believe my babies are safe — I have 4 dogs now.

We used this service for over an year on several occasions when we had to be away, and The Woof Pack came to feed our cat. It was even more preferable then leaving our cat with friends. Unfortunately, we cannot use it anymore as we moved out of the area.
Rick is very dependable and really loves and understands animals. It was always interesting to read the notes he left during the visits, and his newsletter gives useful insights and tips.

When planning a trip, the first thing we check is availability of The Woof Pack to take care of our kitties. Once that is confirmed we move on to other reservations for the trip. Kitties come first and Rick and his staff have been taking care of our «kids» for a number of years. Twice we have used them when we were out of the country for longer periods. Rick is so patient and understanding when we call numerous times to confirm all is well.
He also made a pre-​visit last time as it had been awhile and one of our kitties is really timid so he wanted her to remember him!

Our dogs get stressed out so easily and being able to leave them in their familiar home environment is such a relief for both them and us when we’re away. I love that Rick and Woof Pack are so flexible and affordable with number of visits, items to be addressed at the house, etc. They really make it easy to customize whatever you need and our dogs and cat are much happier when we get home. I plan on using Woof Pack for a long time!

Can’t say enough good about The Woof Pack. They’re highly professional, do a great job of communicating how the pets are when we’re away, they do some solid, basic house security during visits, the staff are great. If you ever have doubts about using a pet sitter while away, I’d suggest giving them a call.

The Woof Pack has been helping me care for my animals for six years. I have 4 cats and a dog and I need all the help I can get. Rick comes by once a month to help me with brushing the cats, cutting there nails and putting advantage on them. They are a handful and I would not be able to do it myself. His fees are reasonable so I can afford his services.
During tax season, I have to focus on preparing taxes 100%. Having Rick, allows me to do that. Rick walks my dog and gives him a bath when I am busy. He really goes the extra mile to help you and make sure the animals are well cared for.
My cats and dog love him and I would be lost without him. He is very gentle and good with animals. I recommend him to all my clients and to anyone else that might have a need for pet sitting. I always tell him that I would hire The Wolf Pack to be my full time Pet Nanny if I could.
