Bad service and staff is unclear of protocol apparently. I called and was on the phone for about 10 minutes to set up an appointment for an installation of a cooktop. On the phone they asked for various information and the cooktop model/​serial number. I couldn’t get the information and they said that’s fine. I get a call back 5 – 10 minutes later saying in order to give an estimate when they come they have to have the model number. The reason is beyond me, then I go try and find the model/​serial number and they say they no longer to installs? Are you screwing around or is this how you treat potential customers?

We had a dishwasher that was not responding to keypad presses, so we called tri-​city appliance. An elderly man came out and did some diagnosis and informed us that the front panel of the dishwasher would have to be replaced. He said it would cost around $ 278.00 for parts and labor. He charged us a down payment of $ 209.00 for the diagnosis and projected labor, and that we would pay for the part once it comes in. I stupidly paid him the $ 209.00. Well a few days later, I discovered that the front panel was responding again, so I called to let them know that I would not need the part — that the dishwasher was working fine now. They usually charge $ 69.00 for diagnosis, so I figured that I would get the difference of $ 209 — $ 69 back as a refund. I have called them 6 times over the last 8 weeks and they keep telling me, «we’ll let the technician know, he will take care of it» The last time I called them it was a week and a half ago and they said, «we understand and we will take care of it» No response since then. This business is dishonest and a rip off. I highly suggest that you do not do business with them.

Probably the most important thing other than the service is the price the company charges for their services. I have found that Tri-​City Appliance are very expensive.
I called them to report a problem with my dishwasher. The problem was that ON push button was not working. They said that they will send a technician who will charge $ 69.95 for diagnosing the problem. When the problem is as simple as ON button now working, I wonder what is there to diagnose. Anyway I understand that for a service rep to show up, every company will charge a certain amount, and if Tri-​City charges $ 69.96 then so be it.
The service rep showed up at the appointed time, and looked at the problem and said that console that has all the various dishwasher modes and power buttons needs to be changed. He took the model number of the Maytag dishwasher to find the cost of the console. He came back and told me that it would cost $ 185 for the console (and it will take a week for them to get it) and labor would be $ 130 and including tax and everything the total cost would be $ 332. I decided not to go with them.
After that googling for the part, I could find them at various online sites for $ 120. It also appeared that the labor involved to install this would be for a maximum of 30mins. This clearly shows that these guys are out there to rip you off. My advise: stay away from them.

It has been over ONE MONTH. I have called repeatedly and even left a note. No one has called me back. They just seem content to ignore me.

I can’t imagine better service. Polite, forthright and speedy. I have a working washer and it took less than an hour. They even worked to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday because I was completely out of clean clothes. Repair is always a headache, but these guys are the remedy!

HORRIBLE!!! would never use again and am shocked at the positive review. John came to our home to fix our oven which was flashing an error code and was locking up. First, John electricuted himself and burned out a door switch in the process. He claimed that the door/​light switch was the cause of the problem. he took the oven doors off and put a dent in 1 of the door handles. he reset the oven and left with his payment of $ 189.00. 5 minutes later, the oven started beeping and was flashing the same error code again. We scheduled again for an 8:00 am meeting the next day.
So, the next morning we waited…9:30– we called customer service and were told he was coming…10:30-we called again and they said he was on his way…11:45 we called again and were told that he would not be coming and we needed to schedule for Thursday. We scheduled again and waited again. John arrived on time and my husband told him the error code was for the main sensor board (we called fridgidaire and checked with them). John then replaced a temperature sensor. he reset the oven and 10 minutes later — the same error code, beeping and a non-​operational oven. we called customer services immediately-​and at 8:00pm he called and said «what do you expect magic? you want me to perform miracles? I am done with you and I am done dealing with you». Wow! Such service. I would never tell anyone to use this company and will make sure to spread the word on how he failed to repair our oven! I would have given no stars and a sad face if that was an option.

I was so pleased. I called at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, my washing machine had not been working right all weekend and finally gave out on Sunday. John got to my house by 1:45 p.m. and my machine was fixed by 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Quick, friendly and honest service. I will definitely call them again, next time I am in need of service!

He came well within the scheduled time period; he called about 10 minutes before he arrived. He diagnosed the problem immediately and gave me fair estimate. He had the part on his truck and the machine was repaired within another 10 minutes. He was professional and pleasant.
I tried Sears first but they gave me the runaround. The automatic phone tree tried to schedule a visit 5 days later and for 79.99. When I talked to an operator, the price was 129.99 and a week and a half out. Mr. Appliance was quicker, honest, and no doubt more proficient. I’d use him again.

My challenge is that I’m trying to figure out if I buy a new unit or have this one repaired. I like buying local so I emailed the wine cooler manufacturer –VinoTemp– they recommended Mr. Appliance and one other service provider. The other service folks gave me a quote over the phone to replace the freon, but the woman in the Mr. Appliance call center refused to help me understand the range of costs. She simply kept repeating «All I have, SIR, is a diagnostic fee that will be credited to your service costs if you decide to have us do the repair.»
COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. WHY WOULD I HIRE YOU TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM I ALREADY KNOW ABOUT?!? JUST TELL ME APPROXIMATELY HOW MUCH I NEED TO PAY YOU FOR THE KNOWN PROBLEM.

When I had problems with my dishwasher, Mr. Appliance did a great job. When my fridge/​freezer started to make an terrible noise at 2am over the past weekend, I called them again. The noise had stopped, but there was water coming out of the freezer. I was concerned that the freezer had stopped working.
John showed up during the 2 hour window. He checked everything out including the fridge portion. I was happy the hear that everything was working correctly and that the water leaking might have been caused by the water being turned off a few days earlier.
The cost for diagnosing the problem was $ 79.50 which would have been waived if they did any repairs.
Completely satisfied with this recent service as well as the previous service.
Why not 5 stars? When I call them again for the next issue and get the same great level of service, I’ll give them 5 stars.

Problem: The fridge compartment of my 3 year old Maytag stopped working.
Solution: Finding the source of the problem was a little tricky and took a few service calls. At first it looked like the defrost thermometer was the culprit, but the fridge still broke down after it was replaced. The freezer kept icing up and cutting off cold air to the fridge. Ultimately, Mr. Appliance techs discovered the control board went bad.

Steven, from Mr. Appliance just came to fix our washer. He knew in 2 seconds that it was a «cracked coupling». Unfortunately, he did not have the part, but was able to get it in 15 minutes. He was efficient, friendly, comfortable and got the job done sooner than I expected. I would definitely call these guys again to fix any of our appliances. By the way, the initial call was easy and the scheduler was ready to have someone out the next morning already.

I had trouble finding someone who would look at my LG Dryer. Called Mr. Appliance on Wednesday and they had their tech out here Friday afternoon. The gentleman who worked on the dryer is named Juan. I say this because he deserves a good shout out for his courteous, friendly, and professional manner. He knew what he was doing got right to work and finished the job quickly. Can’t say enough positives about the Mr. Appliance team, the woman who took my call and set up the appointment was also courteous, friendly, and professional. Thank you so much!

In December, I set up an appointment with Mr. Appliance through Whirlpool for washer machine service and received a confirmation number for a January date. On that date, I called Mr. Appliance after never receiving any confirmation calls and was told they had no record of my appointment, despite my confirmation number. They scheduled a new appointment for me that afternoon between 2−4pm. At 4pm, I received a call from the technician saying he was lost, so I told him I would reschedule at a later date because I had other plans that evening and couldn’t wait.
About a month later, I called to reschedule. I was told that the ‘scheduler’ was out of the office and would call me back (I’m not sure why the lady who answered my call was unable to schedule the appointment for me). A week later, I had not been called back so I called again and was told this time that a technician would call me back to schedule an appointment (again, I have no idea why the person who answers calls can’t seem to schedule appointments). At the end of the day, I called back a final time and said forget it. I received no apology or explanation, and I’m left flat-​out bewildered as to how this company actually has any business without being able to schedule a simple appointment.

My rangetop microwave went kablooie while defrosting meat. Dreading the thought of replacing an old appliance with weird mountings, I called Mr. Appliance. They scheduled a visit in two days with a two hour window, and arrived half an hour into the window.
The tech diagnosed the problem quickly and went to get a replacement part, and within an hour our ancient microwave was once again spewing death rays to heat up my coffee. Total cost was ~ $ 130 (yes, I know, new microwaves are cheap, but having your cabinets re-​done is not).
They also have portable credit card scanners for billing, in case you are check-​less.

These guys are great! I called about a broken microwave and described the problem to them on the phone. They came out the next day (unlike the GE people who needed 3 days to come out). Based on our conversation, they brought a part with them that they thought might be the problem. It was and the microwave was fixed within 20 minutes of them being in the house. Awesome.
They were clean, prompt, and not as expensive as the competition. I would definitely use them again.

My dishwasher broke; I called Maytag and asked for a repair person. The first person said he would be there between 1 – 5. I called him @ 5:30, he answered the phone but did not identify himself and then hung up.
I called Maytag and asked them for another vendor they would approve of. They gave me three names and I chose Mr. Appliance of Fremont. I made an appointment with Mr. Appliance and they gave me a two hour window. Two of them showed up and they were on time. They put covers on their shoes when they came into the house. They were very clean, neat and courteous! It took them ½ hour to fix my dishwasher. They were very efficient and knew what they were doing. That was six months ago and I haven’t had any problems since, it works like new! I highly recommend Mr. Appliance of Fremont. If you want it done right the first time and don’t want to wait, call Mr. Appliance of Fremont!
