Binding Price Moving

While researching long distance moving companies, I read a lot of horror stories about companies that overcharged on pick-​up, held people’s belongings hostage until they paid more upon delivery, or conveniently «lost» or flat out stole things from the inventory. So far, I have not had any of those things happen, but my stuff is still in storage and I will update this review when Binding Price delivers my things to my new digs.
Re. my experience with this company, I worked with Edward at Binding Price Moving. Edward called me a LOT until I committed to using his company, but he was always friendly, down to earth, and understood how stressed I was about moving. He was particularly helpful when it got closer to the pick-​up date. I updated my inventory pretty frequently so that Edward’s quoted estimate was very close to my actual price on pick-​up (I went over by one box or so).
Edward said the moving team (3 guys) would arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 am on moving day. They arrived early and started a little before 9:00 so that they were done around 10:00. They were really fast, courteous, appropriately careful with my fragile things, pad-​wrapped my furniture. I admit I’m a tad worried about how my things are treated when I’m not there, but the moving team that day was great.
Like most moving companies, Binding Price offers up to 30-​days of free storage, which gives you a little wiggle room with moving in dates and gives them wiggle room for delivery dates (the 30 days includes the travel time it takes them to get your things to your new city). I got an additional 30-​days of free storage through a promotion Edward was offering. This turned out to be really useful since it took me longer to find an apt. in the new city.
If everything goes as planned and there are no additional fees or broken/​lost things, using Binding Price Moving will have been a better value for me than PODS, U-​Pack, or moving myself using U-​Haul/​Budget. (Note: the pick up and delivery teams for long distance moves will likely be different guys, so plan your tips accordingly.)

In Jan 2015 this moving company ripped me off in 3 ways… 1). they over charged me when packing the truck (They brought their own empty boxes to make it look like the truck was more full than it was.
2). The stole the expensive bike-​lock and key off my bike when they were breaking it down.
3). They dropped more boxes than I can count and breaking little knick-​nacks and damaging my filing cabinet and other items.
Their Rep Herbert has not returned my calls or emails.

An employee from this company stole one of our 47 inch TVs, and Binding Price Moving did nothing to rectify the situation AND IN FACT even made it harder for me to recover money for the damage by challenging the credit card charge dispute I initiated. The reason that I had to resort to disputing the credit card charge was because their «claims company» «Claims Service International» is a complete SHAM. I was told that I would have to wait NINETY DAYS in order to even get a decision as to what, if any, money I would get in order to be reimbursed for the $ 500+ TV that was STOLEN from us.
Well, it is now been more than 120 days, and I just received an e-​mail from Claims Service International that I have pasted below:
Subject: Documents Request
«Dear Sir /​Madam,
A claim /​complaint under the above listed customer name and move job # has been received on 08/**/2015 PM.
In order for us to properly analyze this claim and determine compensation amount we must review the following documents:
1. Delivery Bill of Lading (+ Valuation Addendum if applicable)
2. Delivery Inventory (if Applicable)
3. Original Estimate & Revised Estimate (if applicable)
4. Packing Certificate (if packing service provided)
5. Weight Tickets (if charged by weight)
6.
The sooner we are able to receive legible copies of the required documents, the faster we will resolve the claim /​complaint. Keep in mind that the claims process must meet local and federal deadlines.

What a JOKE! There isn’t even anything listed by #6. Anyways, I got my money back from the credit card company, because I guess they agreed that both of these companies are shams as well.

Binding price moving came this morning to pick up my stuff, im moving from NYC to Florida. Abraham (Abby), the supervisor, was extremely professional. He made sure the guys moved and packed my stuff perfectly. He went through every single item that was being charged. They quoted me $ 1,074, for my one room and I ended up paying $ 1,274, as I had an extra big box, picture frames that I tried to wrap myself but weren’t wrapped correctly so they had to wrap them again and a metal love seat that I originally was not going to take. The movers were super professional as well, very quick and hard workers, they took great care of my stuff. Overall it has been a great experience and hopefully it is the same upon delivering my items. I will update my post once my items are delivered to Florida, but as of now it’s been excelent. Make sure to be as precise as possible when they are doing your quote in order not to get charged more, I called them about 4 times before my move so they could update my list of items, you will have more stuff than you think you have.

Just awful and dishonest. For example, AFTER everything is loaded on the truck and stored until delivery, the estimate changes dramatically. Never believe the expected delivery date and watch out for the final crew asking for more money. Do not use!

Do your self a favor and save your self never end harassment
Since Sept 11 2015 till today Oct 27^th (6.5 weeks) Mr. Herbert Simpsom have called me more then 45 times, he continuously calling and leaving me a voice mail (some time more then once a day) I clearly indicated Mr Herbert, that I’m not interested in their services, but despite that It didn’t prevent from Mr. Herbert to continue calling me and leave me Voice Mail every single day.

I have reported them to both the bette buiness bureau and ARAP since it was my moms stuff and she is a senior.

had another move scheduled a 4000 square foot house from NJ to Long Island and i canceled i used RJJohnson Moving they charged as much as binding charge for an 18 mile move of 600 square foot apt.
i would use RJJohnson again without hesitation

Despite reading numerous bad reviews on this company, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and chose them for our move from NY to FL. On July 17^th 2015, I spoke with Beyonkia. We were not scheduled to be in Florida until August 1^st, but chose a pick up date of Friday July 24^th in order for our things to be down there the following day, August 2^nd which it states in my estimate that was emailed to me. Pick up day came, and we were charged an additional fee due to some extra items that were not on the inventory list. Understandable. Two pieces of paper I signed that day stated «delivery date» and «agreed delivery date» of August 1^st, 2015. August 2^nd we called the company. Was given the run around several times by customer service and a man named Kevin, who is believed to be the manager. I was told dispatch would be in later that day and that I would receive a call with further information. I called THREE more times that day and Kevin could not give me any more information. Called several days after that and was given more excuses, «dispatch isn’t in today» or «my system is down» and each time I was promised a call back which I NEVER RECEIVED. I had to continually call and call to attempt to get some information about our move. Finally on Friday August 7^th I called and was told «the truck is being loaded today» which meant I should have my items within a few days. Sunday August 9^th I received a phone call from the truck driver saying he would be delivering our stuff the following day, sometime after 2pm. Monday August 10^th I received another call from the driver stating he would be to us around 6pm. 6 came and went, finally at 9:10 PM the truck showed up. A police officer who lives in my complex saw the truck pulling in and advised him unless he can back it in, there is no way he can come into the complex due to there only being one exit/​entrance. The driver complied and backed the truck into the complex. Two men proceeded to get out of the truck, ask me which door is our and handed me paperwork at which time he said «now you just owe us $ 150». I said excuse me? He said it was for a «long walk fee.» The distance to where the truck was parked to the door of my apartment was the SAME distance if not less from my house in NY in which the drivers had to go to the basement, walk out the back door, through the back yard, down the driveway and into the street. My boyfriend and I told them we will absolutely NOT pay them any additional fees, then he said to us «fine just pay me $ 75 instead.» We refused to pay them ANY money at this point, at which time the drivers wanted to up and leave and told us we would need to rent a smaller truck. We informed them we would NOT allow them to leave with our things that we have been waiting over a week for and told them to leave our belongings and we would take care of it on our own. So my boyfriend and I moved ALL the boxes on our own, a dresser, two tv stands, our large ottoman, dining room table, 4 chairs, all of our daughters toys and several other things. It wasn’t until the VERY END where the movers brought in our couch and two full beds. (probably because they were looking for a tip). The job we agreed upon was NOT fulfilled due to us doing all the moving on our own AND we put back together the bed frames which was part of THEIR job. We have a 6 year old so for an entire WEEK she had minimal toys to play with, we had to go out and buy air mattresses for us to sleep on, pots and pans to cook with amongst other things because ALL of our items were still in the warehouse when they were supposed to be at our apartment. The contract states east coast deliveries are delivered 7 – 10 business days from pick-​up, we had it in 11 days but the contract also had one date on it and we didn’t receive our things until a week AFTER that date. Then on Tuesday August 11^th, a customer of theirs CALLED AND TEXT ME because the moving company gave him MY personal cell phone number to ask if we had any of his boxes that were missing! That is horribly wrong and a total breach of privacy. If I could give this company ZERO stars, I would. They are AWFUL

Came in this morning. Apparently, all the list of items I wanted to move (that I provided via email and went through each item over the phone) weren’t included and going to charge more. Instead of amicably trying to resolve, they blamed me for not providing the necessary feedback to correct it and was going to charge me 10+% more for my move. I told them to leave so they left shortly after.
I should have relied on Unilocal reviews and never had gone with them. What a mistake. Go to at DOT websites, too. They have numerous complaints about this and I guess this is how they try to make more money. Provide a low quote so you will put a deposit down and buy their service and get jibbed when they come pick it up.
DON’T EVER USE THEM

Binding Price Moving came through for us today. We to move out company today and they helped move us into a 13,000 sq foot space, moving over 40 employees.
I could not believe how fast and efficient they worked, and with an amazing attitude the entire time. Even when they ran into addl work that was out of scope, they took care of it with no pressure.
To top it off, they were very competitive with pricing and was flexible to our budget. I would highly recommend Binding Price Moving for any move, big or small.

I must say I am completely lost of words with the superb service. My company recently moved into newly acquired work space, and we needed a company to help get us relocated. I was unaware of Binding Price Moving, but after the moving day, I am definitely up to date with this company. These guys were punctual. They arrived 10 minutes before they had to be there, and they immediately starting setting up. They prepared for the move as well. We did not have to advise them of the best way to do things. Binding Price Moving already knew what to do. They were very trustworthy with our equipment. Nothing was harmed or damaged in the moving process. This kind of top tier service at a very affordable price is to be commended. I highly suggest giving Binding Price Moving a try.

Binding Price Moving really assisted my company in moving from Howard Beach, Queens to Elmont, Long Island in the fastest and safest way possible. The service was inexpensive, effective and right on point. I will always refer the service as they are reliable, fast and professional movers.

I highly recommend Binding Price Moving Co. to all. It was a positive experience from start to finish – from my first conversation with Russ, to Rafael and the entire moving staff — -to the long distance guys on the other end. Thanks very much for making it efficient and pleasant and competitively priced.

Damon Cameron helped me move. He had the best customer service and helped me out big time through my complicated moving situation! He was very nice and trustworthy and I would definitely recommend his service. This was also the best price around with one flat rate company estimating triple the price! It ended up being a bit more than my estimate but I still think I got a great deal.
Only reason I took off one star was because I had a few broken items (corner of standing mirror glass chipped, broken wine glass, 5 broken ceramic plates, one broken ceramic bowl). All the broken kitchenware was in a box that wasn’t labeled fragile so it may have been my fault. Otherwise, they did a great job at wrapping my items to keep them from breaking and scratching the walls.

HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE. First, it’s overpriced. They charge per hour, and it took 3 movers 7 hours to move my stuff out of a tiny apartment with an elevator. They banged up most of my furniture with huge gashes in the wood and pieces of wood missing because they clearly threw things in the back of the truck and didn’t care. I was only able to oversee one of the movers, so I couldn’t see them loading the truck simultaneously. Also, one of the movers said he was offended that I expected «3 grown men to share a $ 100 tip,» which is rude and out of line. $ 160 tip on top of the $ 900 moving cost. It would have been cheaper to sell and buy all new furniture. The main guy overseeing the other two was very nice and apologized for his horrible teammates, but it is insufficient. He also filed a claim for negligent damage, and after 4 follow-​ups, I still never got the call I was waiting on from the supervisor.

I ordered the service in May for a move from New York City to Athens, Georgia. The final delivery was on 7÷18÷2014. In a word, it is deplorable service. The original estimate was around $ 2500, and we ended up paying more than $ 3000 for horrible service.
While the pick-​up service was on par with my expectation with additional charge about $ 200 (not including the tip. The movers are rude, unsatisfied with my original tip saying that the company only pays them very little), I am totally disappointed by the delivery service, which makes me feel totally ripped of.
The truck came to the front gate of my apt complex at Athens on a Friday afternoon around 5pm. The mover Patrick checked access to my apt, and concluded that the truck can’t come in and I need to pay an additional fee $ 250 (later I was informed by the community that similar trucks come to my community every month). The mover P then asked me to pick up a U-​haul and pay for it.
Fraud No.1: Since I paid the additional $ 250, what service am I getting if I still need to get the U-​haul and pay for it?. But that is fine, I want to get my furniture assp so my family can rest before dinner.
When I got the U-​haul truck back (2 miles away, it took only 20 minutes), the truck was gone!
Fraud No.2: The driver drove away without even notifying me! Now I was sitting in the U-​haul right in front of my apt complex with my furniture gone, frustrated! It turned out that the driver drove the truck to the motel he stayed!!! And then the driver demanded me, the client who paid for the delivery service and the additional fee, to pick it up. Further, he demanded me to pay the remaining balance before I check off the item list! He threatened that if I argue with me about this, he would either raise the price more or refuse to give me the furniture today.
I have never heard of such horrible service, and I can’t believe that they get good Unilocal review (though only one). I then called the company’s headquarter many times, and the officer told me that they have no control whatsoever, ZERO customer service, and said the only way is to obey the driver.
We ended up going 30 miles in the U-​Haul I rented to pick up my furniture from the motel (needed two trips since the only available U-​haul was too small) and the move was finally done at midnight with my wife and baby waiting (well past the promised 3−5pm delivery time).
Eventually, I not only paid for the $ 250 for nothing, I also paid the movers $ 100 in tip since they work very late (12AM) to get my stuffs in. On top of that, I paid more than $ 100 for the U-​haul miles and gas.
In a word, stay away from this company if you want hassle free moving service.

I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the guys at Binding Price! I put in a search for movers and they were the first to respond to me on a Sunday afternoon! Edward was a very well-​spoken, friendly, knowledgeable representative, and he informed me he would be my coordinator.
I was very impressed with Ed, and knowing I needed to have packing and moving done by the very next Friday for a large 1BR, he asked if he could personally visit with an estimator. Since that was tough for me, I suggested I’d make a youtube walkthrough vid and take some photos and he gave me his personal email address to send them. The very next day he came back with a very attractive flat price for 4 men and a truck to pack for 2 hrs and move for 6 hrs.
I also put in calls with his competitors, including one highly recommended by a friend but «not cheap». Most of the competitors weren’t even able to read my files because of an error I made posting, but Ed had taken the time to figure out and correct the error! Eventually a lot of other movers, some with flat rates, some with hourly rates, came back with quotes that were between 50−100% more than Ed’s quote! Several top movers actually warned me away from Binding Price and directed me to a string of horrible «hidden» reviews on Unilocal.This of course gave me concern, but more on that later. One company actually came in at about 10% below BP, but when I saw their contract was full of grammar errors, that really turned me off. Some really big name companies (who wanted to charge a flat rate of almost double) were so indignant that I would consider BP that they said «there’s NO WAY just four guys» can move all the stuff they saw in the video that quickly-​they wanted to send me 5 guys at a much higher price. They argued an hourly rate company had no incentive to move quickly and would wind up being double what was quoted. When I discussed my concerns about reviews with Ed, he asked me to name specific reviews so he could answer in detail why a customer had complained, and he was open about saying they were a real company, and there are two sides to every story. He even mentioned that in some cases competitors will «pad» Unilocal with negative reviews, which is a practice that Binding Price does not engage in.
Edward sounded the most human, and the fact that he personally guaranteed my price would not exceed the agreed upon quote assured me in my heart that Binding Price would be the best choice for me.
I was not disappointed.
On Friday, 4 men came at 8:30 am sharp headed by the wonderful foreman Rafael! I showed them the few things that would not need to go, and the many empty boxes I had purchased in advance for the move (they use your supplies first to save money). The 4 guys worked VERY efficiently to pack half my stuff (I had packed 50% beforehand, and believe me it took me over 10 hours with a friend!) and move it into their truck such that we left the Bronx at 12:30pm sharp! The half they packed came out to over 41 small to large boxes. Unlike me, they knew how to pack all my weird odds and ends (both valuable items along with clutter) just perfectly! I’ve never seen guys so efficient at setting up a new box, packing it and sealing it securely. At one point I told Rafael I couldn’t even see his hands taping up the box! He grinned and said he’d been doing this for quite a number of years.
The crew arrived in Yonkers 1:30 pm, and they were so efficient, they were completely done by 2:30-a full two hours ahead of schedule! I did notice that my folding table set didn’t open when I tried pulling out the chairs. Rafael quickly got a screwdriver and made the proper adjustment to fix it in about 30 seconds and voila-​my chairs came right out!
Wouldn’t you know it, but Dave from customer service called me about a week later to ask if I was satisfied with the move, and I told him I was but mentioned that I thought the price might have dropped a little since the move was quite rapid. He agreed, apologized sincerely and told me a $ 265 refund was on it’s way!
Don’t be fooled by any negative reviews you might see out on Unilocal for Binding Price. They are a human company and no dobt aren’t perfect 100% of the time, and have perhaps even a few fake negative reviews against them from the Big Boys out there. All I can say is having tried to work out a deal with their competitors, these guys went the extra mile every step of the way, were very honest in their dealing with me, provided the best service I’ve ever had with movers, and worked quickly to fix any mistakes, as I’m sure they’d do for any of their customers. I now realize why their competitors kept putting them down-​because they’re THAT good! The competitors couldn’t even come close if their lives depended on it, and I’m sure that puts the fear of God into them. Once the cat is out of the bag about how great BP is, those Big Boys won’t be able to retain or increase their customer base, since y’all will be using BP! :-)

The guys moved me on may 22 2014. They were awesome and truely worked around a tough situation especially with the fact they were doing construction on my street. They made the move quick. and painless… I highly recommend them!

My wife and I chose Binding Price Moving to move from NYC to Florida two years ago. Up until then we had used a competitor of theirs, but for that specific move we decided to get a few other quotes and Binding Price gave us the best price. We were nervous that on the day of the move we’d get hit with a bunch of extra charges, but everything turned out to be exactly as quoted. All our stuff arrived in Florida in good condition and the movers were professional and easy to work with. Last month we moved back from Florida to NYC in a more complicated two part move. Once everything was picked up from our house we had to put our stuff in storage for a month until we found an apartment in NYC. Even though we were pretty sure we were going to use them from the beginning we reached out to three other moving companies and Binding Price still had the best price. I can’t say enough good things about Abraham, Edward, and Kevin in the Binding Price office. They provided me with very accurate estimates, helped coordinate the move, and followed up with me to make sure I was happy with how everything went. Anytime I had a question (and I had a lot) they were very easy to get in touch with. The actual movers were very good too, especially the main guy who picked our stuff up in Florida. I’d strongly recommend them and will definitely use them again for my next move.

I never write reviews, but this company deserves one and I feel it would be an injustice by not telling this story. These people are legit. They told me what they can, and more importantly, what they cannot do. They picked up my stuff on time and threw in a few free perks. They held it a couple days, as they said they would, and then delivered it over 600 miles to the Canadian border. The delivery time was extremely critical because I was meeting them on location at the specified time. I drove up the night before the drop-​off in some of the worst, most extreme weather conditions I’ve ever witnessed. First, the fog was so thick I could barely see two feet in front of my car so we decided to spend the night a little past the midway point assuming the weather would be better the next morning. We woke up early and headed out to discover some of the worst icy road conditions the state of Maine has seen since recorded history with accidents littering the side of the road. We thought for sure Binding Price Moving would be delayed, understandably, but to all our surprise they were up there waiting for us. Everything made it up and in the same condition it left. I had a very poor impression of moving companies because of all the bad press, and it was such a relief to have this very difficult part of my move from NY to ME transition without any problems.
