Nasty cashier! Why wouldn’t management train them properly? It’s obvious they don’t like their job. Very rude. Won’t be going here again.

Only a couple blocks from my house, and can always count on it to have whatever it is that I’m missing. The cashier staff can sometimes be nasty and hasty, even rude to customers, something management might want to address? One time I asked about the pricing of an item and the lady cashier, who clearly has an accent herself, screamed at me and said «You can’t read english on the sign?!» I gave her the benefit of the doubt and take it that she had a rough week. Besides from that, they have good sales, a private parking lot, and serves it’s purpose. I still return regularly.

It suffices as the local supermarket, prices are decent and is convenient. Something about the store layout is not as pleasant as the Waldbaums over by St. Francis Prep-​though they did buy out the corner deli and expanded a couple years ago. I can’t complain, when I need a late night ice cream stop, I’m happy to come here.

I really can’t hate on this place because I’ve been coming here for so many years. Of course there are better supermarkets out there but if this place wasn’t here I’d be forced to travel farther to get something in a pinch. The selection is better than the fine fair and the associated (which is now also a key food). If you go at the right time you can be in an out in under five minutes but on the weekends expect to wait in line. There’s usually several checkout’s open. The employees are all friendly and they pretty much know my entire family.

Really convenient location for picking up a few things I forgot at Stop-​n-​shop. The parking spots seem like they were made for Fiats and Mini Coopers though. I try to park in the street to avoid having everyone else’s paint on my car doors.
The manager looks like Daryl from Storage Wars. (Nothing to do with anything just a random fact).
Fruits and veggies are always fresh and I can always count on them to have the organic milk my daughter drinks and my favorite Bacon. Thank you.

Key Foods in Fresh Meadows consistently over-​charges their loyal clients. The other day I needed a carton of organic chicken broth for a recipe my wife was making. Instead of going to Fairway Market I decided to go, grudgingly, to Key Foods. What a mistake. I find the broth, take it to the counter, swipe my card and realize that they have just changed me $ 6.00 for the soup. $ 6.00 for a carton of soup that costs more than a dollar less at Walbaum’s and about $ 1.50 more than Fairway.
My neighborhood is populated predominantly by older folks who rely on the proximity of this store. They are taken advantage of of as they have no other recourse. if I can be charged 25% more on a single item think of how that impacts a person who buys all of their groceries at this place.
When I told the casqhier that I wanted my money back he insisted that I go to the front office. When I did the manager seemd put out that I questioned their pricing. A lot of nerve. Key Foods is a rip-​off.

For a moment, I thought the management for this Key Food took a step in the right direction right after the reno was done by having new and more professional staff. Unfortunately the new staff was only there for a couple of weeks. This negative review is not based on the entire staff, because there are a few who understand their jobs and the value of customer service. As I always say, if you don’t like your job and go about showing it to everyone, there’s the exit. There are plenty of unemployed people out there who are far more deserving and more capable of doing these tasks correctly. Being rude and incompetent on bagging items are elementary mistakes I find frequently when I’m here. Until then, 2 stars.

I’m not usually a fan of Key food because I can get fresher and cheaper food elsewhere but it’s conveniently located 3 blocks from my house, therefore I purely come here out of laziness. The staff are super nice whenever I needed help getting something though. The place also looks a lot nicer after they expanded.
One thing I absolutely love getting here is their chocolate babka. I dont know why, but they only have it like twice a year. It’s absolutely delicious!

This is an okay store, you can pretty much find whatever you are looking for. What can I say its Key Food.

As disgusting as could be!
I went there today to buy cold cuts and cheeses from the deli counter. I’ve been going there for years and never saw a problem but today the cold cuts were exposed to the air and there were more than a dozen flies sitting on and eating the food. They were flying on all the meats. Three guys behind the counter were standing around, talking, but none cared about the insect problem. I wasn’t buying anything here, needless to say, and I asked for the manager. A skinny guy named Nelson came over and said he was the manager. I showed him all the flying insects. He said, «so what, they don’t eat too much!» And said he’d look into it. Just then I saw roaches crawling on the salads and told him after 29 years, I’d never be coming back. He told me to get out because he didn’t need my business. It was totaling sickening. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR — STAY AWAY THIS PLACE.

This is the best store in the area!!! I have a serious back derangement, and can’t shop for myself. The entire staff from Paul the Manager, Pauline the Assistant Manager, the Cashiers (who assist me in shopping) to the Stockmen, all treat me as if I were the owner. The shelves are always fully stocked, the Stockmen are always replenishing the stock. The Meat, and Deli Departments selections are always fresh. I have always found whatever I needed, and if so needed, the Stockmen from that department will go into the Stockroom, and find the product that I have requested. Please patronize this store, you will be pleased!

The outside of the supermarket looks dingy, but inside is clean. Good selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks. Reasonable prices and full stocked. Some of the cashiers have little attitudes like really, but their are a few nice ones.

The sales they have are the only reason I go. Otherwise stay away from their meat dept! Usually when you bring home steaks or chicken cutlets, if you flip them over while prepping them, they’re already darkened and bruised from being out a bit too long…
The chop meat suffers the same fate. They package the outside with fresh meat to make it look bright, red, and appetizing. Then you bring it home and find that in the middle is dark meat that’s days old and hidden.
The deli doesn’t clean their slicers between uses or have a partition between meat and cheese, so there’s always remnants of other meats on your cuts — and they place the deli meat OPEN back on the racks after use. OPEN! They don’t even reseal them. That’s unsanitary!
My last straw was the other day I got a package of greek olives, sealed and not expired, but found mold growing in the brine. It was left too long outside of storage temperature in their store. No wonder they were on sale…
Don’t bother. If it isn’t processed, out of their hands, it isn’t safe.

This Key food has recently expanded and although the produce is not always the best, it’s a great little neighborhood store and the cashiers and managers are good, we prefer it to the other store on Parsons & Jewel, and also to the other too-​large supermarket on Kissena. The Key Food tuna is the best! I tried the one from the large supermarket on Kissena and had to throw it out.

they have what you need but its small and cramped. really you have to put your cart in the middle of the aisle when its so small! come on people! oh i forgot only you count!

other than the cramped space/​parkling lot, i have no problem with this keyfood
also its right across a great pizzeria, Napolis, if you have not been there, i suggest getting the chicken vodka slice!!! its to die for

A great place for grocery shopping!
They have all kinds of possible products. Especially they have lots of kinds of tea/​coffee selection. It’s not so crowded, and the store is relatively clean.
Come on, people! What do you expect from a supermarket more than that? :P

Services is bad, unfriendly cashiers that seem as they hate their jobs, the stocking people are not helpful. Selection is terrible, their produce department looks is rejects from other stores, very low quality Not a good selection on any other items… they do not even have wild rice or good bread. Layout of store horrible, going down the isles is like going thru an obsticole course, unfortunately most customers are also rude, must be the neighboorhood. Anyhing nice to say? NO! Defenitively Ghetto!

for a supermarket this place is so small and all the employees are either mexican or spanish– And they all share at you while you are checking out the items. NASTY! I prefer Waldbaums

Key food is so ghetto, so dirty, and blah.
Every time I’ve gone there I wish I would have just gone to Waldbaums.
Selection is horrible, service is slow…
Why 2 stars? Because it’s cheap.
