Established in 2011.

Steve Childress became owner in 2011, after working for previous owner fpr over 15 years. As of January 2014 he took over all aspects of the business with his wife Tammy as «Office Manager».

Steve has worked in the transmission business for over 25 years, he is an honest and respectful business owner that cares about his customers or potential customers. He will stay late and/​or work weekends if that is what it takes to get a customers vehicle in the time frame he gave to the customer. He builds quality transmissions with quality parts. No «After market».

These guys are the best. The dealer was going to charge 4 times what Better-​Built charged to replace our transmission. They did the job very quickly, and the trans has been perfect for going on a year now. And, even more impressive, Better-​Built just called me to remind me that we should bring it in for the yearly check-​up. Talk about service!

Called for an estimate on having my transmission rebuilt. Kevin gave me a $ 900 estimate. I took my vehicle in, then days later when finally getting to my vehicle proceeds to tell me it’s going to be over $ 2,500. I feel bamboozled. He estimated a very low price just so we would go there, then turned around and charged me triple the estimate. I suggest you get estimates in WRITING with this guy because he’ll turn around and say you misunderstood him. I do NOT recommend bringing your business here. I well be reporting to Better Business Bureau.

Kevin, and everyone at Better Built, is as good and as honest as they come. They went to great lengths to secure a reasonable, used part for my hurting car. They were kind and forthcoming and very, very good. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

hella cheap transmission parts and repairs. i needed my transmission filter replaced and i called a bunch of places and this was by far the cheapest. plus i found a coupon on the phonebook so it ended up being $ 30 cheaper than the next cheapest place (another transmission place) and $ 50 cheaper than the cheapest regular auto place, and over $ 200 cheaper than the most expensive place I found.
they fit me in towards the end of the day and one employee had to forego part of his lunch break to fit me in, which I felt bad about but was really nice.
So they’re very inexpensive and told me the rest of my transmission was in great shape so they seem honest and seem serious about transmissions.
