Folks don’t take your car to this place. They would smog my car and say, You need this part to pass smog and told me this few times and l was going up to$ 300 in parts still not passing smog. The mechanics worked on my car and left scratches on both sides of my front ends. The idiots don’t use a cover when they lean inside your engine with tools as not to scratch cars. Cheap front customer service, dirty inside the building, two brainless mechanic’s who can’t figure why a car is not passing smog. This shop get’s no Unilocal stars.

This place is terrible. I had a smog and it failed then they told me it needed the timing adjusted. They adjusted the timing and tested it again. It failed for the second time. They told me to check the oil and get it smoged again for a third time. I took it to another reliable place and it passed smog with flying colors. There was no reason it should have failed. The Smog Repair Shop I went to that passed my car said they do not know what they are talking about and are tricking people. I called Contreraz back and they refused to give me any money back, not even for at least one smog. They lack in knowledge and have terrible service. I wasted my time and hundred of dollars. I am reporting them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). They completely took advantage of me.

Took my car here to smog last week, failed cause of catalytic converter. So replaced it and went back today, they didn’t want to smog it cause they said they didn’t have the info on car and the brand new catalytic converter look suspicious. Even though I have the paper work from catalytic converter from auto place,
Don’t go here there just make excuses and take your money

These guys are more focused on leaving, than getting business. They close before their hours state. But they are still here, if the guys want to stop working earlier, they should just change the hours. Standing around, giving you excuses why they don’t want to work isn’t good business

Don’t waste your time with Contreraz Budget Smog unless you like dealing with rude, unprofessional people.
I called an spoke with someone at Contreraz Budget Smog. He told me the price and said to bring my car down. This was at 3:45pm. I got there at 4:15pm. They were closed. There were three employees locking up who told me that they close at 4:30pm. I explained that it was 4:15pm and I had just driven across town after being told to «bring my car down.» They told me it was too bad and that I could come back tomorrow. It would have been great if the guy on phone had mentioned that they were going to close early.
I will never go back to Contreraz Budget Smog. They are unprofessional and rude.
I stopped at a Smog Master near Shields Ave and Clovis Ave. on my way home. They were about to close, but said they didn’t mind staying a few minutes late to smog my car. This was after I said I could come back the next day. Smog Master was less expensive than Contreraz Budget Smog too.

Great prices for oil change and friendly staff, highly recommended!
