I’m so glad I came and checked out this branch of the library. It was about as big as the Gillis branch on dakota and fruit but the neighborhood was more pleasant. There are so many movies for kids at this branch and there is also a play area for the kids here too. When I’m there with the kids, I stay in the kid section to keep an eye on them so I didn’t get to look at the rest of the selection but the children’s section is well stocked. The people there were friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking. It is in a shopping center so after you pick up some reading material you can stop and get a bite to eat.

The Fig Garden branch is is clean and quiet. It usually is not crowded and I am able to enjoy the quiet and find what ever I need without much trouble. The staff is helpful and nice. I enjoy coming to this branch of the Fresno Library system…

The children section has recently been redone and now includes a little kitchen setup and a small couch. I enjoy patronizing this place every other week to check out new reading material for my family. Although it’s an older library it is in a very convenient location and I appreciate the helpful staff who go out of their to locate materials.

Took my baby nephew here the other day(he’s 1 ½), and expected to just be in and out so my boyfriend could grab a few things. Well with the kids area, my nephew had a blast and didn’t want to leave! We stayed about an hour, and he loved it! It was great! Great selection of movies and CDs, not as many books, which is kinda weird.

Clean, quiet, generally friendly staff, what else can you expect from a library. I especially like the self check out system

I was recently at this branch to work. The library’s quiet atmosphere and low-key activities are conducive to writing. I visited the ultra-quiet«reading room,» unpacked my bag, and began to work. I soon became distracted by a patron who was bathed in migraine-inducing perfume. I tried to continue but could not. It felt like my nostrils were on fire. I went to a librarian and asked if anything could be done. I was told that while«some people»(the homeless?) could be «thrown out» for strong body odor, they could not do a thing about people wearing too much perfume even if it made patrons sick. I suggested a sign asking patrons to avoid heavy perfumes for the benefit of those who have severe allergies. I was told«no.» It troubles me that the library privileges the stench of the middle-class over those without a stick of deodorant. This was an eye-opening experience. I don’t wish to patronize a system that treats consumers differently based on the nature of their odor.

I love this place! I am at this branch at least 2 – 3 times a week. It’s always packed in there too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have the computerized self– checkout, so you can get in and out quickly. I use the online request system, so I get emailed when my items are ready to pick up. They have DVDs, VHS, video games, music cds available for free. You can’t beat that!

Although this branch of library is not the closest in proximity to where I reside, I like this branch because I am able to check out books without having to wait in line and wait for a library clerk to complete the check out process. I really enjoy the computer check out system. Usually, I place books on hold via the Fresno County libary web site, go into the library from the«hold» section and check out, using the computer check out system. All done with a great efficiency. If one does need help, then there are ample librarians and librarian techs available. Usually, the staff is cordial and helpful, without an attitude.

I really like this library, this coming from someone who doesn’t read much. I thoroughly enjoy reading magazines, cookbooks, and travel books, perfect fodor for my short attention span. This branch has a decent selection. Also, a great place to check for free movies on DVD and VHS and music cds.
