They did not have what I was looking for but Paul was very helpful and really took his time trying to help me out.

My alternator broke on a trip down to LA from Oakland and we got stranded. I got towed to Fresno to this shop on AAA’s recommendation. They open at 8 am, and since we were outside they took us at 7:45. We had a new alternator and charged battery for $ 241. On the road again before 11am. My mechanic back home quoted me $ 350. This speedy and well priced repair has saved my vacation.
Also a notice to Darryl who offered efficient and direct service throughout.
If I lived in Fresno I’d be back here in a heartbeat

This used to be one of my go-​to parts stores, especially since they car some specialty parts no other store in town carries. However, the service in-​store has slipped over the years and after being ignored my last TWO visits, i’m done.
The clincher was waiting to be helped at the counter to ask if they had what i was looking for, 3 guys tapping away at their computers, another family comes up to wait, and gets taken ahead of me. one of the other guys just grins at me and continues at his computer, leaving me waiting.
I really do try to keep my money local, but if this is what local gets me, i’ll do my shopping online instead, or make the ~1 hour drive out of town to a certain performance shop. i wonder if some of the slip can be attributed to their only other direct competition in town falling by the wayside a few years back.

After taking our car to the dealer for years I was fed up with their high prices & incompetency. My daughters VW had a loud growling sound that the Dealer could not find out what the problem was & charged us $ 125 diagnosis. A friend of mine told me about Sebring West. I called and the Service Advisor (Darryl) was VERY knowledgable about cars. They diagnosed bad wheel bearings. Sebring West repaired it for a very reasonable fee. They even WASHED the Car! I read some other reviews who said that they were expensive. But you pay for what you get! At $ 100 hour you get a very knowledgeable Technician who I think will save you in the Long Run. If it takes longer they do NOT overcharge you. Sebring West is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Sebring is simply the best. They have maintained four of my vehicles over the years. They do things right at a reasonable cost and they are wonderful to deal with. VERY highly recommended.

It might a really good shop but the price is out of reach for anyone I know. I got a quote for a starter to be done because my normal mechanic was out of town for awhile. My mechanic quoted me a price of 198.23 out the door and when I called Sebring their price was over 300. WOW! What a difference. I like a good auto shop to fix my car but I don’t want to be burglarized in the process.

One of the hardest things about moving to a new place is having finding a good auto mechanic all over again. Going through bad ones can be very costly and time consuming. I am happy that I came across Sebring pretty early on when I first got to Fresno.
Pros:
The facility is large and clean. The mechanics really know their stuff.
They aren’t afraid to outsource when something is beyond their capabilities instead of trying to jury-​rig a solution.
When they fix something, it is what needed to be fixed, and it stays fixed. I have only had to return once from a repair, and that ended up being because one of the parts they used had a defect.
If a repair goes awry, they don’t argue with you about it or try to make up some reason to charge you more for the second repair. Instead they fix it again with no charge. Their turnaround is usually within the day.
Cons:
They can be slow with small things like oil changes and smog. If you are trying to fit an oil change in before work, you are better off using Jiffy Lube.
They are a little pricey. I know I can get most repairs done for less somewhere else, but that savings goes away very quickly just one bad repair (see my review of Van Ness Auto). I also think I am at the age where I’d rather pay a few dollars more and just have it done right. Sebring does that for me.
Other:
They offer free shuttle from their shop to your home/​work when you drop your vehicle off. They do not offer shuttle service when you pick your vehicle up.
