This place was jammed packed on the weekend after Christmas 2015. My bff wanted to take me shoe shopping because I have a terrible time even finding tennis shoes that work for my feet. I was originally worried because there were so many people and I don’t know what work/doesn’t work. Thankfully, the nicest young lady helped me out. She pointed to all the shoes that would be the best fit for my type of feet. There were many pairs, including the first pair of tennis shoes in 45+ years that actually fit my feet and had high enough arch support for me. I didn’t buy those, but I did manage to get my wonderful, 100% leather and suede walking shoes as a Christmas gift from my friend, and score 75% off on some other casual shoes I truly love. Some of these other reviews strike me as not being very patient with the service there. I agree that the shop wasn’t huge and if the young lady had not helped me I would have walked out. You must have help in a store like Village Shoes, and I found it. If you can’t, it would be a bad experience because although I didn’t find them snobby, the two ladies at the register were a bit stressed out with the amount of people there and unknowledgeable about their stock on hand when I asked them a question. ~Ms. Ali

I went in to get my toddler new shoes for the summer. It’s a tiny shop; I didn’t realize how small the shop and their selection of shoes was until I was inside. For toddlers, the selection wasn’t that great. The brands that I saw were only two: crocs & pediped. On this trip I was specifically looking for crocs; I had been planning on going to Roxanne’s Birkenstock, but I wasn’t sure if they’d be open on a Sunday nor did I want to drive far. There were two sales ladies, both of which were very helpful and nice. I ended up also buying a pair of Birkenstocks — I had planned on getting them at Roxanne’s, but again, since I was in the shop already… When I compare the two shops, I have to say Roxanne’s has a much bigger selection in general, but the salespeople(& let’s be honest, the customers i’ve seen in there) in my opinion are a bit more snotty at Roxanne’s. The price of the crocs were average — exactly what I expected to pay, although they had a deal where if you buy one regular price croc you get another pair for 1 cent(off a certain rack, of course), so I was able to score crocs in the next size for my son for a penny. Good deal. Not so great is that I suspect I over payed for my Birks; i checked online & the same pair were a good $ 20-$ 30 cheaper. I’m debating whether I want to travel back to Fresno to take them back. If this place had a larger selection of shoes, I would add another star. Not sure if I’ll go back because of that. *Also: the return policy — You have 10 days to return for full refund, and 30 days for store credit*

Small selection. Staff is snobby if you don’t appear to «come from money.» They overcharge for the same thing you can readily buy from other stores even if the item is not something highly sought after(i.e. a boot care kit here is over $ 5 more than at other local stores and is more expensive here than on the branded website). There are better places in Fresno to spend your hard earned money.

Good products but poor presentation. Way too much stuff crammed into the small storefront, and the staff is minimally helpful. Not a fan.
