Welcome to San Juan Classic Day Sailing, where we offer Skippered Day Sails and Multiday Island Cruises throughout the beautiful San Juan Islands. Family owned and operated, our fleet of beautifully restored classic wooden sailboats is less than 100 feet from the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Friday Harbor, WA. From this ideal position at the heart of the islands, we are poised to sail through some of the best waters for sailing on the West Coast to many delightful and exciting local destinations! Guests are welcomed to participate in the sailing of the vessel as much as desired but no prior sailing experience is required. With great places for lunch and picnic stops, and always the chance to be surrounded by wildlife including the Orca whales, a day out on the water with us promises to be a truly memorable experience for you and your family and friends.

Established in 2008.

San Juan Classic Day Sailing is family owned and operated. It began with a love and passion for restoring classic wooden sail boats and has turned into a charter venture to share these magnificent, fully restored works of art with visitors to the San Juan Islands.

My husband and I had a wonderful late afternoon /​evening sail on the Iris out of Friday Harbor. The weather was perfect and the wind while on the lighter side was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and fun conversation with our Captain. We watched a seal pop up with a salmon in his mouth! Amazingly beautiful area — thank you ~

Our family had an amazing day out on their beautiful scooner. Captain Art and crew Casey and Kate were fantastic. They tailored the trip to suit us. We had a wide rang of ages 80 to 2 years. We were out for a full day. We were able to help with the sailing as well. Couldn’t ask for a better sailing trip. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a great experience sailing around the San Juan islands!!!

If you are looking for a fantastic day out while on San Juan Island, this is it. Captain Morgan is great, The Iris is great and seeing the San Juan Islands from a sailboat is great. Do not miss this adventure. It’s worth it.

Captain Morgan and her beautiful cutter «The Iris» was a huge highlight of my family’s 1st trip to San Juan Island. We were incredibly lucky to do a 4-​hour private charter on Mother Day’s day to celebrate my Mom’s 50th birthday. It was amazing to say the least! Every step of the way, from booking the trip to meeting up afterwards to give us something we left behind, Captain Morgan went above and beyond to take care of us and make our sailing experience extra special. Captain Morgan has been sailing for years and was obviously very skilled and knowledgable but also welcoming to our questions. She even let us take the helm! She was so kind and funny – by the end we were laughing up a storm together! The local nibbles and wine she brought were yummy and she didn’t bat an eye when we brought aboard a birthday cake and champagne. The four of us had a fantastic time and we ALL would highly recommend Captain Morgan and this lovely family-​run business!

Captain Morgan — yes, that’s really her name! — was such a pleasure to engage with from the get-​go. Responsive, friendly, accommodating. We were a last minute booking and she made it work for us. We are grateful! It was such an incredible experience. I saw and spent time on two of their boats, both beautiful and lovingly restored. They’re a family-​run operation with deep roots in the San Juan Islands. We are total novices, but they made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. They also do longer charters for more experienced sailors. I highly recommend them!

Much more intimate than the big party boats. Had a great afternoon of sailing in the channel between San Juan and Shaw Islands. Loved the smaller classic boat. Particularly enjoyed being with only a handful of people rather than crowded on to a big party boat. Definitely a much different experience. Even got to take the helm!

Awesome experience. Art and Morgan clearly love sailing and we had fun spending an afternoon with them. They are wonderful hosts, knowledgable sailors, and their boats are beautiful. Highly recommended.
