Legacy Montessori Academy

This was a terrible experience. I was appalled at the things I saw. The director, Baljeet, actually fed a child with her bare hands right in front of me! I have no idea whether or not she had washed her hands first, but the point is moot. Texas minimum standards require that child care professionals always wear disposable gloves when handling food.
There are several children in the school who are a danger to themselves and/​or others, but the school has made no attempt to address those issues. Eventually one of those children will seriously injure themselves or another child.
Several of the teachers I spoke with were not even familiar with Texas minimum standards. As a child care professional, that is a MUST.
Baljeet is so concerned with appearances, she neglects the needs of the children themselves. She wants parents to see perfection when they walk through the school – on the surface. What lies beneath is something quite different. Many children are being neglected in favor of others who Baljeet deems more important.
The school has a difficult time keeping teachers because of the lack of respect management shows them. The high teacher turnover rate is very detrimental to the mental and emotional development of the children.
If you are looking for a place to take your child for a positive learning experience, this is definitely NOT the place to go. A much better alternative for people in Frisco would be Kids R Kids of Lawler Farm on Independence. Even better would be to find a home daycare that actually cares about your child as an individual.

My son (2.5 years old) has absolutely LOVED his time at LMA. He is so excited for school every day, and I have total peace of mind when I drop him off. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone who is looking for:
* Challenging and interesting lessons with Montessori-​certified teachers
* Clean, safe and new facilities with fingerprint entry and video monitors in every classroom
* A huge area for kids to play, including an indoor gym and a great outdoor playground with space to ride trikes
* Nutritious, organic school lunches with vegetarian options
* Diversity in the student body and staff
*Starting at age 18 months, which is hard to find (most Montessori programs start at age 2)
* Flexible options allowing parents to choose 2, 3 or 5 days and either a half day, full day (8 – 3) or extended day (6:30−6:30) depending on parent schedules.
—This is perhaps the most important point, as I found it very difficult to find an 8 – 3 program. I found many daycares, but I didn’t need that many hours. I also found many «Mom’s Day Out» programs, but I needed more hours than that. This was a wonderful balance offered.
