Specialties

Come to Killahevlin where Southern Hospitality meets Irish Charm.

Visit other like-minded guests in our private pub, enjoy the fresh air in our Gazebo, or watch the sun set from the rocking chairs on the verandah.

Breakfast is a celebration! We always start with lots of fresh coffee. We can make a proper pot of tea upon request. No tea bags for you … we have a nice selection of loose teas.

Fresh baked scones are offered every morning along with a selection of juices.

Start with Dessert so you have room for it. Our «desserts» are really our fruit course. Something different is offered every morning and range from Baked Pears, to Strawberry Fool, or possibly individual fruit crisps or cobbler.

The «Main Event» is sure to please too. Everything is made fresh and to order. We cater to our guests and always offer everyone their choice.

Come to Killahevlin and prepare to be pampered.

History

Established in 1905.

Killahevlin was originally built as a private residence. The original owner was William E. Carson, an Irish Immigrant from Enniskillen. He and Governor Harry Byrd were friends and Mr. Byrd named Mr. Carson to be chairman of the State’s Commission on Conservation and Development during which Mr. Carson was responsible for the development of Skyline Drive along with parks at Williamsburg and Jamestown amoung others.

Killahevlin is now a Bed and Breakfast that gives its guests the opportunity to experience the elegance of a by-gone era. You may take a room in the main house … maybe Mr. Carson’s own, or enjoy a suite in the old Guest house where the Carsons entertained Presidents and other dignitaries.

Three acres of grounds give our guests peace and quiet and arguably the most beautiful location in Front Royal allows our guests to enjoy beautiful mountain vistas from three sides of the house and from all our guest rooms.
