Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale/Downtown Las Olas Area

Single night stay in my hometown, if you want an affordable hotel in the middle of downtown then you’ll love this place.

Worth the dollars that I spent for the evening, the staff was wonderful and even comp’d my parking.

Let me start by saying I looked up this hotel and knew what to expect before booking. Last year I came to ft lauderdale and stayed right on the beach and was awesome however this time we wanted to be closer to Las Olas Blvd to bar area so we could just walk. Wasn’t sure with reviews whether we could or not but you totally can! Less then 10 min walk to bars. Hotel is nothing fancy from outside but still nice. Nice, clean room. Pool and jacuzzi were also nice. Breakfast was great, good options.
Only thing I would say for management is I saw staff standing around in front of front desk both times I went or on their phone next to breakfast, just didn’t look very professional. Customer Service wasn’t bad but wasn’t the nice real friendly service you get at hotels either. Would come back to be close to las olas area again.

I only stay there for one night so there isn’t much I can say about the hotel besides the fact that they had a good breakfast!

I live by booking because of reviews of past guests, so I need to do my part and help others as well. Stayed here with my mom after our cruise earlier this month. Great location! About a 10 min walk to the restaurants and shops. You just need to cross a big street to get to the main drag. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I had a parking issue, but the front desk was quick to accommodate.
The room was clean, the beds very comfy and we were very satisfied. Loved the breakfast, and that was available throughout the day. Much more to offer than the place we stayed before our cruise. Going to make it a point to stay at other Hampton Inns because of all the extra amenities. We recommend and would stay here again!

The only redeeming quality about this place is the location. It is convenient in downtown and located near good restaurants. It’s a good thing because the food they serve on the second floor is fried and packaged. They DO have a refrigerator and microwave in the room which I remembered from the last visit so I packed my dinners and warned them up throughout the week.
Here’s a few experiences that irk me: I left a robe here the last time I stayed and called to make sure they found and kept so I could have them ship it back. They said they would call me back when housekeeping got the to room and didn’t. I called back to inquire and they said the same thing. I’ll chalk it up to a lost cause. They don’t clean the room very well because there were sticky gum spots on the floor. My most recent visit I checked in and received my keys and the envelope it came in said a room on floor 10. Well I went to that room and heard a tv on and saw the do not disturb sign on the door. «Lugged» all my luggage back down to the lobby to be told I was actually in a room on the 7^th floor. Kinda scary. I hope my key wouldn’t have worked on the 10^th floor room.
The parking turns me off about this place every time. It’s so condensed and structured so poorly you can tell cars hit the side walls because there are scratches, paint and chunks taken out of the concrete walls. You have to have a key to enter floors 2+ which for security I think is great, but floor 2 is the restaurant and I loaded up my car on the day of checkout (no more room key in possession) and the tried to get back in for breakfast. It’s just not convenient.

Loved the location of the hotel. It’s very close to Las Olas Blvd, I’d say within a 10 minute walk. Hubby and I had just gotten off of a 7 night, food gorging cruise so we decided to go for a walk down Las Olas Blvd, all the way down to Ft. Lauderdale Beach. About 6.5 miles round trip for anyone who wants to attempt it. Its definitely a doable walk and we were glad we had the opportunity to go to the beach! Lots of great sights along the way. Also right by the hotel is several museums.
The hotel itself needs some updates. We could tell the place was run down. The bathrooms were as clean as they could be. There were some spots in the sink where I couldn’t tell if it was gunk or just part of the enamel that had come off. I tried not to look too closely because if it was gunk, I would have been seriously grossed out. Water pressure wasn’t the greatest either. There were cracks in some of the corners of the bathroom and just throughout the room. I think housekeeping try their best to clean but it’s hard to «clean» cracks showing in the wall or sinks where the enamel has come off.
They do not offer shuttle service to FLL airport, it’s about a $ 20 taxi ride including tip. The front desk staff in the morning and afternoon shifts were very friendly.

Last room on New Years Eve! Lenox Bellman was so gracious with his time and customer service. I definitely will contact Hilton and give him praise for his sweetness. Room was fine. Overall customer service made the stay enjoyable

I hate starting a review with I’m a Hilton Diamond member but this should speak to the fact that I stay in a ton of Hilton properties for work and this was one of the worst I’ve stayed in. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at suggesting a place to eat but the pleasant experience ended there. We were driving a Ford 350 dually and had almost no place to park. The hotel has a parking garage but apparently only sized for smart cars. We had to park in a loading zone which was cleared by one of the helpful hotel staff members. The hotel reminded me of something out of Scarface. It had a very musty smell as you walked into the lobby and had an even worse smell in both elevators. It smelled like a fisherman cleaned his catch in the elevator. Then the room… oh the room. The room was equally musty and was very dark. The bedside lamp switch didn’t work so I had to unscrew and screw in the light bulb to turn the light on and off. The TV was sitting on top of the dresser directly in front of the bed but was angled to the right. I thought that was strange so I straightened it out to watch tv but realized that the tv cord wasn’t long enough to sit straight and it unplugged the tv. I felt like I was in a sketchy motel. Though the price was reasonable, you definitely got what you paid for. I will not be returning to this location and I advise you do the same.

Overall a solid stay. Very close to the fashionable Las Olas downtown area, this hotel is a bit dated, but very secure and clean. The staff here is quite amazing — all very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Marcus and Widny are particularly stellar employees, so be on the lookout as they are solid resources for all things related to your stay inside and outside of the hotel. Pool area very nice and gym is always kept very clean as well.

Front desk experience wasn’t the best. Check-​in was rushed and there was no mention of my hhonors benefits, including wifi. When I got to my room, I tried to call down, but it took two calls and about 15 rings each before someone finally answered.
Enjoying the «pantry», we stopped by there often and had to verbally try to alert staff sitting in the back that we needed to make a purchase.
The room was clean, though it took both nights for the AC to finally catch up and cool the room. I was going to complain after the first hot night, but it finally started to perform that day.
Breakfast staff was super friendly and always smiled and said hello. It really made breakfast time enjoyable.
Would likely look for another hotel to stay at, should I visit the area again. So many other choices in the area.

Yikes. Keep looking, folks. This is basically an old, dirty motel in a sketchy area of town. To label the hotel as Las Olas area is kind of a joke. I cannot believe what they charge per night for this place. I felt acutely uncomfortable inside my room because of how filthy it was and I did not even want to think about all the people who had been in it before me. Yuck. Shower is a lukewarm trickle.

Great price. Easy location in relation to airport and port for cruising. $ 21 cab ride from the airport. Hotel offers $ 10/​person shuttle to cruise ports. Overall simple hotel. Clean room. Bar/​restaurant was lacking. They close the kitchen based on demand. Complimentary breakfast M-​F with a multitude of healthy options. Over all a good stay for a limited number of nights.

I have to say I was nervous when I booked this hotel as I had read a few reviews online that were not good. Let me say they were all wrong. Not only is this hotel in a good area but it was secure and clean.
Our room was spacious, clean and well stocked. We had a great view. Even when our air went out in the middle of the night the night desk reception was quick to change our room to one that had sir and a great view as well.
The pool are is lovely and the hot tub was amazing. Parking garage is secure as is hotel no one get s in without a room key. We were in walking distance from wonderful restaurants, and historic downtown where we could shop and just relax.
Breakfast was very good from hot cereal and cold to eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea and juice. Simply wonderful. At night they offer drinks and tapas.
A wonderful place for a great price. Plus a huge shout out to Lawrence who was not only friendly, helpful and efficient but also had a great sense of humor. He so made our stay the best possible he deserves a raise.

I hate to do this but must say that this hotel is a disappointment. The bathroom was full of hair upon check in. I called and they wanted to send someone up to clean it. I told the manager I was getting dressed so would go by the desk when going out so may come and clean it. I put my Do Not Distrub sign on the door. Well, they came knocking on the door while I was getting dressed. So, the room was not properly cleaned, the manager didnt fully listen to what I was saying and all I got was a I am sorry. I know Hampton Inn is not one of the top hotels or expensive ones on the Hilton chain but I am paying for a clean toom and I am a Diamond Member.

I stayed at this Hampton Inn before flying back to California after a two week road trip around the south. The area was a little odd. I have never been to Ft. Lauderdale, so I don’t know if it was par for the course, but the immediate area around the hotel is a little surreal and Twilight Zone-​ish. We were there on Sunday and Monday and there were no other human beings outside at all. There were a few homeless dudes enjoying the free AC at the library a few blocks away, but other than that I felt like were all alone in the city. Even Las Olas, which I thought was the main street in Ft. Lauderdale was dead. That being said, our rooms were nice, with nice beds and linens, and a good TV to watch some women’s World Cup. House keeping was great. The girls at the front desk were friendly, and helpful. We even got a free drink coupon, which was nice. If I was in the area again, I would certainly stay here again, considering the price and amenities.

After a not so nice drive from Orlando we checked in here last minute because all the other hotels on the beach were fully booked. The woman at the desk Fatima was very helpful and sympathetic for our not so good drive after hitting a huge man hole in the road and possibly damaging our new vehicle. She gave my fiancé a discount on the room as well as a $ 20 gift card to cracker barrel and two drink vouchers! We checked in around 10:30 pm and headed to get two glasses of wine at the hotel bar. We were pretty pleased with our room and the cleanliness of the hotel. After getting changed we headed out for a late dinner and we’re shocked we were walking distance to all the hot spots on Las Olas. This hotel is in a great location with decent rates! We will definitely be back to this Hampton Inn.

The staff at Hampton Inn went above and beyond on several occasions to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. I arrived prior to normal check in and no rooms were yet available. The desk clerk at the time made sure that I was able to get the first room cleaned. I waited less than an hour after my arrival to get a clean room in a sold out hotel. Another desk clerk helped me several times with my room keys, which I seemed to have the most difficult time with. All around, if you want a nice quiet hotel for vacation or work trip that is close enough from the beach to still be able to easily enjoy it without having to stay near the beach, Hampton Inn is a great option.

Musty smelling rooms, could use some spring cleaning, very friendly staff, elevators are possessed & work sporadically, excellent swimming area– very clean, okay breakfast with disorganized layout, coffee is terrible, free (although tight) secured garage parking with room key, about 10 blocks from downtown shopping. This hotel is obviously for vacation travelers and not geared toward business travelers. The only outlets I could find were being the bed and the outlet covers were falling off.
Something that made me feel uncomfortable was the guy cleaning the pool area this morning had a broom in his hands and a cigarette in his mouth. I thought this was extremely unprofessional and contributed to the overall dirty feeling I got from this hotel.
I’ve stayed at many other Hilton properties, including Hampton Inn, but have to say that this is my all time least favorite property.

Good location in downtown Ft Laud with the ability to walk to Las Olas or Riverwalk
The rooms are decent, a bit outdated but fine for a night or 2 on a business trip.

Rooms are adequate. Nice size and clean.
Flat screen tv’s with plenty of channels including HBO.
Microwave, mini fridge and in room safe.
Complimentary shuttle over to the cruise ports. They give you a time and a coupon.
Our room was right by a cute little balcony looking off into the city.
Would certainly stay here again.
