History

Established in 2010.

mojo comes to south florida by way of south jersey. Owners Domenick Falcione (the chef and artist) and his partner Anthony DeMaio opened their original mojo in Margate, NJ in 1999 a Zaggat rated restaurant tagged ‘where soho meets the shore.’ After selling in 2006 the duo opened Sails in Somers Point, NJ a gorgeous bay front restaurant (sorry to say it has changed hands and names) and continued operating a seasonal café named «I Love Lucy’s» on the beach in Margate, NJ sharing the same space with the famed National Historic Monument «Lucy the Elephant» After closing 15 years later in 2009 the boys decided to re-create their baby and give Ft Lauderdale a taste of mojo. mojo has something for everyone. mojo is for your eyes, ears, your taste buds and your soul.

Meet the Business Owner

Domenick F.

Business Owner

Domenick first learned to cook at home in Philadelphia with his mother and grandmother. At 17 he apprenticed at Sabitini’s in Florence, Italy. After graduating from the Restaurant School of Philadelphia he opened his first establishment, ‘Little Rock Café,’ in Ventnor, NJ with his sister. The ‘Little Rock Café’ was the perfect venue for this talented chef/artist to display his creations not only on the plate but also on the walls. Over the years he has developed his flare for creating unique dishes as well as his abstract art. He went on to open 3 more restaurants in South Jersey, I Love Lucy’s Beach Grille, mojo and Sails. After leaving the Jersey Shore he settled in South Florida and decided to re-create mojo in Ft Lauderdale. The restaurants’ design is casual yet elegant focusing on great affordable food and of course, the chefs abstract art work. Whether on the plate or the walls south florida dinners are in for a treat… mojo…‘get some’
