Berkeley School

My daughter attends this school and loves it! I love it too for its one-​on-​one attention to the students and their needs.
The art and gardening and yoga, in addition to the three R’s, are a wonderful, rounded approach to grooming young people.
The owners and teachers truly care about each child, this is obvious by the way they interact.
We are lucky to have this gem and you would be lucky to have a child here.

Berkeley School has been amazing for our son. We enrolled him mid year into TK and he is now finishing up his 1^st grade. The teaching style used at this school fits so well with our son and many of the other students. They teach to the needs of the child and try different approaches to find how the child learns best. Small class sizes help but if the classes grew, I don’t believe it would hinder the staffs ability to continue to educate each child on their level and to support them in reaching higher levels. Along with the normal, reading, writing, math courses, they also have science that is interactive, art, dance, cultures, computers, PE, yoga, lego engineering, spanish, music, urban gardening and drama. I may have forgotten more… oh and a karate instructor that holds a few classes for the students. They have all children involved in performances such as the Spring Sing and once a year everyone is involved in a Shakespearean play. Yes, elementary children reciting Shakespeare! It’s awesome! What I love most about this school is that so much is offered to the students. You would think that this school would be one of those academies where the children are more like robots. 6 year olds who sit quietly and never get out of hand. Not the case. Here the children are children. The staff understands their needs for excitement and movement and works with each student to help them learn self control but not stifle their development and curiosity. I never hear from our son that he doesn’t want to go to school and he loves all his teachers and friends at Berkeley. This place is truely a gem. As a bonus, they try to keep tuition down to the lower Orange County rates. These are people who love educating the young even after doing it for 40 years and they try to make their services affordable. The before and after school care prices are the lowest I’ve seen also.
Berkeley School has become more than just the school our son attends. It’s part of our family.

Both of my daughters love this school! My older child was falling through the cracks at public school, so I did some research and found Bekeley School. Here the class sizes are small and the children get the extra attention they need. The teachers here are all amazing. Positive reinforcement. Firm & consistent with requests. Great communication with teachers so the home & school environment can be consistent. The program is fantastic and teaches to the whole child. In addition to academics they provide instruction in Urban Gardening, Yoga, Science, Art, Music, and Dance. Starting every school day off with dance is a great way to get the brain ready to learn. My kids even use what they have learned in school at home, unprompted on their own, so they are integrating what they are learning not just memorizing to pass a test. My kids are thriving here. The whole community of Berkely School is welcoming and it’s really a pleasure to be a part of the Bekeley School Family!

Berkeley school is the reason my twin boys are succeeding in school! I am so happy that an educator and dear friend introduced us to Berkeley School. I cannot say enough about how much the teachers know, understand and teach children. They are experts and have been experts in the educational field for over 30 years. Their research based methods on how to approach learning works. They focus on the «Whole» child and model many of the successful European educational schools. I would highly recommend you call, take a tour and enroll your child in Berkeley School if you want to see «real» long term success for your child. We did and we are grateful!!!

Our grandson attends Berkeley School and simply excels from the extra attention he gets from being in this great little school. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and the kids are so very, very excited to go to school each day. This school is a treasure and we are so glad Timmy is a student there. Last night they put on an amazing production of Macbeth-​superb! Our hats off to the staff-​YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

My daughter attends this school and I can not tell you how much she loves it and how much I love the improvement that she has made while attending. The individualized attention that she receives is amazing. The teachers are so nurturing, caring, positive and exceptional. My daughter receives dance lessons, Spanish lessons, science, computer, and she is only in kindergarten. I am so glad that we sent her here. The school is very small and because of that they can give a child so much attention. The school is housed in two small buildings next to the Fullerton Museum, but don’t let the small outside appearance dissuade you from going in and seeing what it is like inside and talking to the amazing staff. They can do wonderful things in those little buildings. If you are looking for a good school, I would absolutely recommend that you come and talk to Mrs. Childres
