CVS pharmacy

«David» (manager or asst man.) was very attentive /​helpful when I went in to make my first photo book. It was for my aunt ‘s memorial service that happened that day.

I avoid this CVS pharmacy. They take FOREVER and are not not very friendly either. This morning, after taking my daughter to the ER at 3am and being there for 2 hours I tried to fill her prescriptions here because it was the only one open. They did not even have the flu medication-​during flu season! So now I have to wait for another. CVS to open before my daughter can get medicine. On top of that, the chick in the pharmacy barely acknowledged our presence and carried on counting boxes. I was patient until she started to open a new box to count. Really?!? I asked her if the pharmacy was closed and got a snarky no in return. Then to find out they don’t have the medicine and she was snippy about whether another CVS would have «How would I know?» UGH. Go anywhere else!

Worst pharmacy experience — Holly was incredibly unhelpful in helping me fulfill my prescription. CVS in Anaheim was a lot more helpful and POLITE. The CVS pharmacy in Anaheim even offered to provide a one day loaner prescription. This location lacks customer service.

Do not have yourprescription sent here. I thought it would be convenient since it is so close to St jude urgent care. Nope. I’m told there will be a 45 min wait. Ok, they’re busy. Unfortunately also too busy to be in any way polite. Made the mistake of telling the sweetie behind the counter that my Aetna card was one that had just renewed but all the info was the same. Nope says sweetie everything changes. Pretty sure it didn’t and I’m the one who set up the health plan at my office. She tells me I need the new card, which if I had I would have presented it to begin with. So I ask her if they will be able to run the meds (I had 5 scrips). She wasn’t sure and she was much too busy to check. Picturing a 45 min wait only to be told they couldn’t do it, I asked for my scrips back. Sweetie says they would need to transfer them and of course she was much too busy to do that. So I call the rx number on the card and explain the situation. Aetna says everything on the card is the same and target put through a rx a week ago with no issues. Yep, wish I’d gone to target but now I’m stuck at cvs. So I wait in line to let the dear thing know that the card was fine. She had me wait while she Checked something in the computer then let me know meds would be ready an hour from then. I reminded her that she had said they’d be ready a half hour before that. She says «it changed «. Well sure it did. So here’s what could have happened. She could have simply called the same number I did to verify coverage. Took an entire 5 minutes. Or, when I did her job for her and came back with the results she could have thanked me and kept to the original time. I’m going to start calling st jude tomorrow and see if I can’t get them to offer something other than this place. PS watch out for the sweetie her name is elva.

Still a terrible pharmacy — I have switched all my prescriptions to Walgreens (where it’s cheaper and faster) but I had to come here recently for a 10pm flu medicine run. The staff behind the pharmacy counter were extremely disrespectful an talking about a patient who had just lefts prescriptions and laughing at their embarrassing health issues. And they are still terribly slow. Overall go somewhere, anywhere else if possible. The actual cvs staff here had always been professional and friendly — it’s the pharmacy I have issues with.

What delightful staff at this cvs! I’ve never met such genuinely happy and sweet cvs salespeople. I want to make this one my regular cvs stop place just because the staff here is so awesome.
The two girls that checked me out were really sweet and seemed down to earth.

I have mixed emotions with this CVS pharmacy. Some days are good and some days are just so damn slow. Let’s start with drive thru… The slowest! Especially when there is a line of cars waiting. Your best bet is to go inside. Most of the time I take my chances and wait in the line and end up regretting it because I get stuck there for at least 10 minutes. Oh well. At least they’re service is friendly and helpful. Now when you drop off your prescription inside, either way the wait is long. There’s just so many people waiting and being impatient. Wish they were fully staffed. Service can go so much faster and people can walk out happier.

Horrible service ! My husband was trying to get a flu shot with me and after we went up and told them his name and date of birth the Asian lady was sooo monotone and had a idgaf attitude. Then she was like okay pay over there and totally brushed us off and then we waited and some guy I think his name was Brandon came up to us and said how can I help u and we said my husband needed a flu shot and he’s like ok and walked away! Everyone here doesn’t help the inside customers only drive thru! Wtf! So we walked out and we went to walgreens! I am now going to walgreens for my medications not cvs anymore. They just lost a customer.

The slowest pharmacy on the plan it. Needed a Z-​Pack and cough medication and it told km over an hour and a half to fill it. Never going here again!

The pros, it’s convenient to St. Jude. That’s about it.
The pharmacy is frequently understaffed, resulting is a long wait in the store or at the drive-​through. Of course, I’ve also been in when they’re not busy only to have to wait until all the personal conversations and inside jokes were wrapped up to be assisted.
The techs frequently neglect to offer consultation with the pharmacist even when the RX clearly says counsel.
My drugs allergies and current medications have to be updated because they seem to go missing from their system. I have gotten prescription information and called back with a follow up question only to receive contradictory information from another staff member. I recently noticed that my address had mysteriously been changed to a city I’ve never even lived in.
Luckily, I take responsibility for my health and verify all information with my doctor. If you’re relying on this pharmacy to spot potential drug interactions or allergies, good luck but like I said earlier, at least they’re close to St. Jude.

This is the worst cvs I have ever been to. It took a good six hours to fill two prescriptions and shortly upon returning they tell me they misplaced my insurance information. The staff is very unprofessional and unorganized. Their pharmacy needs to be staffed properly with equipped pharmacy technicians. The women that work here have the competence of a McDonald’s employee. This is Orange County, the standards should be held higher !

Twice I’ve come to this pharmacy after leaving the ER. Both visits have been nightmares. NEVER AGAIN! The first time I dropped off an ER prescription at 2am, I was the only person going through their drive-​thru, and I didn’t see anyone else waiting inside. After sitting in my car for an hour with a kidney stone, I went back in and asked if the prescription they said would be done in less than 30 minutes was ready. Nope, they hadn’t even begun to process it. I know this because they needed my insurance card. They could have called me at anytime during that hour of waiting.
In total, it took more than 2 hours and three trips through the drive-​thru to fill a script that they advised would be a 10 minute ER script.
Second time around, I’m one of three cars in the drive-​thru and I’ve been waiting for 45 minutes on an ER script I dropped ofF 12 hours ago. Absolutely horrendous!

They have everything you need and it is clean. The people at the pharmacy are quick and responsive.
Heads up about the passport photo service: I went here to get a photo for my young son, who is 2 years old, and it was difficult (the clerk wanted him to stand on a chair – yikes!). It was expensive too (about $ 12 – 13, I believe?) We got the picture and took it and his documents to get processed. Lo’ and behold, the person processing the paperwork said that the photo I paid for at CVS was too dark; it might be denied. Be aware: just because they offer passport photos does not mean they know how to take a proper photo.

For the past 12 months I have switch from a few different CVS to this location. First reason was because they are 24 hours, you can pick your meds up at any time! Second reason why was it was close to home.
My advice is drop off your prescription during business hours and ask if it’s in stock. Do this at ANY pharmacy (Walgreens, costco, Walmart, wherever). You don’t want to drop it off and a few hours later get a phone call them notifying you that they don’t have it in stock. And you have to come back to pick up your prescription to take it to another location. Hassle. Tip numbero uno.
Another tip is pick up your meds during down time. Not during lunch breaks, after school hours, after work hours or before work hours. That’s rush hour. Duh. Avoid the rush. And you’ll be in and out like the burger joint. :)
The over the counter meds are a rip here. The iron meds for 150 caps nature brand was $ 15! I got mine at costco for $ 6 after $ 2 coupon for 300 caps (yep same brand «nature»). Don’t buy anything here if you can plan well and stock on the stuff you need. Those of you who are procrastinators OR emergency scenario where you have to get it last minute — get ready to spend some $ bc it can get quite costly.
Cosmetics and over the counter meds are pretty expensive here. Go to target, Amazon, or costco!
Prescriptions here are great. Normally in stock and the staff are great! If it’s too costly because of lack of insurance or your insurance suck you can ask them if they have a discount program or AAA discount! (This applies to any pharmacy fyi!)

This review is for the pharmacy. They never have the prescriptions ready and are always out of stock. The techs are not too bright either. It’s nice having a 24 hour drive thru, but not when they can’t fill your medical needs. I don’t understand how this happens.

I want Long’s Back…
This CVS store is small, location is not great due to busy corner (I often find myself driving a direction I don’t want to go), but most of all it is impersonal with self-​checkout and huge revolving pharmacy staff. I miss the Long’s which used to be across the street until CVS bought Longs. I have more than once ordered a prescription refill well in advance only to arrive and have it not available. They always leave me annoying computerized phone message that it is time to reorder — could they not take the time to tell me my order is not avail. They are not friendly, have minimal stock and poor customer service and bad location.
The only plus — why the 2 stars is that they have a drive thru window.

Clean newer location with a drive through pharmacy and a redbox out front.
The downside is a small parking lot and no customer service.
This location has the self checkout and odds are they will need an override. Good luck finding help here.

ive been coming to this pharma for since 2013. at first, i didnt know anything abt medicare and medi cal but these folks helped me tremendously understand the nuances of Cali’s and America’s socialized medical system. it is very confusing and i feel sorry for those who struggle with it.
initially i was frustrated, as some of you are aware, with my mother’s permanent physical ailments but this has been an unquantifiable experience. hopefully none of u have to experience this life passage called watching your parents age. i thought my father situation and death prepared me but i was wrong. dealing with a mother from a son’s perspective is a gazillion times harder but it might be that women are just harder to deal with as a man: P
this cvs has saved my ass a lot. being ²⁴⁄₇ and my mother telling me stuff at midnight, this is a perfect combo.
the cvs has many facets to improve upon. the service is slow and questionable but after over 50 plus visits, i began to observe and realize the common obstacles and complaints, especially with the man in the mirror.
in the end, the staff is handcuffed by a horrendous medical system combined with cvs limited supply chain, antiquated information system and mountains of paperwork. i observed, most disgruntled patients were not asking the right questions including myself. experience has taught me to ask effective questions for timely resolution. i encourage u to do likewise and use this poorous dilemma to your advantage.
some helpful remedies and inquiries…
if your insurance doesnt allow for billing til the next cycle, lets say five days, just ask the pharmacist or asst if u have a five day supply and credit the rest upon the billing period or until the doctor transmit the proper dosages. pharmacists are human, many are compassionate and understand the longer term negative consequences when a patient can not have access to proper prescriptions. this has worked 100% of the time unless they were out of stock.
another remedy for out of stock supply is to ask them to check their database for local cvs that might have the requisite prescriptions. i have asked this, after an asst voluntarily checked for me, and went to other cvs to pick stuff up.
a common grumbling, incluuding myself, occurs when the pharmacy is severely understaffed with a long line. the workers are human and have two arms and legs. they arent omnipresent to deliver as fast as we would like. unfortunately medication is a sensitive issue and can get the better of our emotions. my strongest emotion often tends to be my achilles heel so this is a work in process.
anyhoo these are my two pesos. may u live a fulfilled life of granduer purpose that transcends your limits :)

If you want a quiet, chill and not a very busy pharmacy… This place is NOT it. Granted, they are right next to St. Jude’s Hospital. This is by far the busiest pharmacy I have ever been to. Hands down.
Pros. They have plenty of help. Every time I picked up the twins’ formula, there always at least a half a dozen or so people working. They need it. The place is a zoo.
They do try to be quick and fast. TRY is the key word here. Which brings me to the CON.
Cons. They seem to never know exactly what is going on with my prescription. OK. full disclosure. I have twin boys that drink formula that was prescribed to them. Maybe pharmacies aren’t used to twins or what not, but there’s always a hold up. They do end up figuring everything out and I go home with the formula. I just give in and expect it now.
So what did we learn, this place is one busy pharmacy. And if you are bringing a complicated prescription, expect some issues. They will figure it out, but it might just be a little painful until then… 2 stars.

I don’t use the pharmacy very often unless I’m sick, however each time I have they are as swift as a pharmacy can be given they are pretty busy bc of their location right across from St. Jude’s hosp. If u expect to come in here and get your prescription in 5 min bc your case is the only one that’s special or in dire need, don’t come here Prince or Princess bc it’s not gonna happen. The pharmacy staff is always moving doing something so better they take their time and give u the right med. then hurry and give u the wrong one. Patience is a Virtue so be patient, shop around and be well. :)
