DaVita Fullerton Dialysis

I been coming here for 15 years and i must say i been taken care of very well. Everyone is nice and i sometimes get put on the machine on time. Most of the time i dont get put on on time because they some times have issues with the machines or patience sometimes I bleed so it takes them a little while to stop the bleeding I always tell people that don’t ever count on being on time when you are getting put on the machine just try to be there early as you can about 30 to 15 minutes early if you don’t get put on if your time is 10 o’clock and you don’t give it up within 15 to 30 minutes let them know and tell them that you been waiting 30 minutes and if your machine is ready everybody has to remember that you’re not the only patient there they are planning a patient there is about 24 patients that are being taken care of and it’s not easy taking care of 24 patients everybody gets put on different everybody has a hard time getting hooked up you just have to understand how they work ingot the Rhythm once you know how they work in the routine they do you can actually get put on really quick also always check your dialyzer sometimes people make mistakes check your dialyzer check with them nurse indignation are doing ask questions don’t be ashame of not asking questions they will answer any question you have asked what’s that for what it is or why this why that just keep asking questions like I said I’ve been on dialysis for 15 years but I’ve been on and off dialysis for 25 years and I’ve had kidney failure for 33 years so I know the ropes really good

I’m hoping that it was just bad luck but I did not have a good experience here. I went here for a couple weeks, working on transferring to a different center.
As a bit of background, I’m a third generation American (half japanese/​chinese), born in california.
More than 75% of the nurses at this facility are Korean and speak Korean as their primary language. Not only did I have an incredible hard time understanding what my nurse as saying but they would occasionally speak among themselves in Korean in front of me, I can only assume it was about my health but this unknown felt unprofessional. I have no problem with other ethnicities, my high school was extremely diverse and many of my friends were korean. Having a half hour delay because… my chair is not ready, they want to call my doctor/​give me Tylenol because my temperature is 1 degree too high (have to wear multiple blankets etc because it’s so cold), having to manually set my machine every 5 seconds because it’s not working correctly, and literally neglecting to take me off the machine because my nurse had 4 hours of sleep the night before (the entire time the alarm on my machine was blaring). The only time I believe I was allowed to leave on time, I had a bit of a temperature so the nurse had me swish cold water in my mouth. Time /​delays are very troubling when you haven’t been able to eat from 9am to 2 pm and have an at-​home nurse administering IV antibiotics at 2:30. coming out of the icu after cardiac arrest, I also had some sanitation concerns with this location.
