Electric Chair Tattoo

I came in for a tattoo appointment with Slick Rick a few years ago and there was some mix up with the scheduling — I had expected to get tattoo’d on that day but wasn’t actually in his calendar. He had another tattoo to do that evening but still found time to fit me in. He knocked out a tattoo on my inner arm in about 4 hours and it was the most painful tattoo I’ve ever had because the skin in that area is so sensitive. Slick Rick let me know that he typically does touch ups a month after he does the tattoo just for maintenance but since it was convention season for Rick AND the pain was so excruciating, I never got a chance to schedule a touch up session.
It’s almost 3 years since I’ve gotten the tattoo and it looks as if I got it 2 weeks ago. The skill and application of color in the tattoo truly shows that it stands the test of time. I get compliments of this tattoo all the time. I follow Slick Rick on social media and always see his work and am convinced he is a versatile artist that can do most styles.

Rick is the best! He’s been doing all my tattoos for over 10 years. His shop is always clean and professional. I attended the Friday the 13^th events and they were PACKED. People are complaining about waiting, ect in other reviews. Ummm… what did you think was going to happen when tattoos are $ 20. If you don’t want to wait… get your cheap ass to make an appointment and leave a $ 50 deposit so you don’t have to wait. I think the artists spend way more then $ 20 just setting up for you. I would recommend this shop and all the artists.

I had a great Friday the 13^th tattoo experience. I made sure I got there early and even though I did have to wait a while, the woman at the front desk was very nice and answered any questions I had. When my name was called the artist asked what I wanted and didn’t rush while doing my tattoo. I love how it came out and really want to come back for more work.

Went here super excited for my Friday the 13^th tattoo. I heard this place was good so I decided to drive all the way from foothill ranch to try it out. I put my name on the waiting list at 2:40 pm and was told it would be and hour to 2 hour wait. After sitting and waiting 2 hours, I decided to check what number they were on and the girl at the front desk had a horrible attitude. I was also told that it was going to be another hour. Since I had waiting 2 hours already and drove a while to get there, I decided to stay. I was really wanting this tattoo also. I checked in about 4 more times throughout a few hour period. The girl was never sure what number they were on and confessed that she was hopping around the list. It was 6:30 by the time I decided to leave. I had waisted my whole day sitting there. Never going back again, expecially because I was lied to about the wait time.

Terribly run especially on Friday 13^th, I have never in my life been to a tattoo shop that gives rain checks because they couldn’t get through every single customer. And I have NEVER Waited 6 hours just to be told it was closed. Artists family has priority over a paying customer who has been waiting for over 5 hours, and when told he says he doesn’t care. I will not be coming here again.

If it were possible to give this tattoo shop a lower rating than 1 star, I would. Just experienced my first Fri 13 event and it was the most poorly thought out, unprepared Fri 13^th I’ve ever been to. There were only about 4 artists working the entire time and at least 2 were only taking large, custom comissions. After I had been waiting for over 5 hours, an artist’s family member walked in with her entourage of friends in tow. When brought to the managers attention that the girls had only been waiting 20 min and a huge group of us were upset because we’ve all waited 5 – 6 hours, I was told that she lets the artists do whatever they want. That they are the reason she makes money. The artists pay her. Well, where do you think the artists get their money to pay you? Oh yeah. The customers. And the customers are obviously the least of concern in this shop. Long story short, the tattoo artist friend of the line cutters threw a tantrum and the shop closed immediately after. Their solution to kicking out so many customers was to give out tickets to come back next week and wait again. Oh and they blamed kicking us out on the cops. As if no one saw the artist’s breakdown. But apparently it was all the fault of amount of people and THEIR ILLEGAL SALE OF BOOZE. Wait excuse me, I should use their terminology. ‘Too many people were caught drinking.’
After attending multiple Fri 13^th events I thought the point was for the artist to meet as many people as possible and hopefully gain new clients. This is apparently not the case at Electric Chair Tattoo. I think their aim was honestly to upset as many people as possible so the majority would leave and they could do more of their ‘CUSTOM EXCLUSIVE 2 HOUR FLASH PIECES’. I was told 5 times by the shop manager that their flash was exclusive and custom. Did I mention exclusive? After having hundreds of hours of quality work done on my body I think I know exclusive when I see it and a couple of pages of The Simpsons is not it. I was made to feel like an idiot for never having heard about Electric Chair besides it popping up in a search for local Fri 13^th deals. I was told ever so kindly by the manager that I could Google it but I think I’d rather waste my time picking my ass or something.
If only the shop could’ve heard how many terrible comments I heard as people were leaving. I was sitting by the exit the entire time. More than half resounded with a ‘hell no I’m not coming back next week!!’

First of all one of the girls said she called my name and i wasn’t there when I was there the whole time then while i proceeded to talk to her, she answered the phone and did a hand signal to me like stop talking. I found that pretty rude. My artist was Suriel. He didn’t really have a conversation with me to lower my nerves. He forgot a shading part and i told one of the ladies there and he told her to tell me i should wait til its healed and then come back because they were too busy. He also had a rough hand I have a tat on my wrist and it didn’t hurt nearly as much. Overall not the greatest experience…

I’ve been into Electric Chair 4 times so far to get work done from Marco, and have never once been disappointed. He exceeds my expectations every time, and it’s obvious the amount of time and detail he puts into his work. I get compliments weekly on the work he has done on my arm. He listens and takes time to consider everything I want, need, have questions about. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Orange County/​Los Angeles/​surrounding areas. Definitely 5 stars!!!

This is a great shop, very clean and professional. All of the artists are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Great atmosphere and great work being put out by all the artists! I’ve gotten many tattoos here and today I just got diamonds put on my teeth as well! Would recommend to anyone

Marco Romo is the man! An excellent tattoo artist and an even nicer guy. Shot some ideas at him and he brought my ideas to life. An amazing artists that can translate a thought or an idea, to paper, and then to skin. He made me feel comfortable the whole time and explained every detail to me before he started inking. He was quick but highly detailed with my art. I highly recommend this man. All around great guy and great artist! I got a badass tiger on my chest and I’m currently in the middle of a Buddha tat on my back. I’m looking to get a cover up done and I know who I’m going to for that!

great tattoo shop, easy to find, & nice place!

Came in here a few times already, couple of times for piercings (went nice & quick). Recently came in to change a piercing and Scott convinced me to get the tattoo I’ve been wanting that day so decided to be spontaneous and get it. Scott is super friendly and helpful and he’ll get you out of there happy. Like this place too cause it’s clean. You will feel comfortable here. Definitely coming back!

I still stand by what I said, this is one of the best tattoo shops you can visit. The artists are all very knowledgeable, not to mention talented. Marco is doing my most recent tattoo and I couldn’t be happier. If you’re looking for some amazing work, this is definitely the place to be.

Great experience with Rick. I was very indecisive and where wanted my nose to be pierced but he was very patient and waited until I found the perfect spot. Not only that he even cleaned my tears after my nose was pierced. Lol Fun and great experience! Will be definitely be visiting again for more piercings.

I was referred to Rick by a friend and I’m glad I came to him. he did my memorial tattoo for my sister and I loved it. A star wars tattoo too. And many more to come. Very clean shop. Awesome tattoo artist there. Awesome shop! I’d recommend anyone here.

My experience was a great one. Had a tat done by Andreas and he really hit it out of the park. They’re friendly and the shop was clean and they had some great music playing too.

I have been a client of Slick Rick’s for years. I am stopped constantly because of my tattoos done by Slick. The line work is amazingly clean, color pops (and lasts) and his art work is out of this world. His prices are exceptionally reasonable for the quality of work delivered.
The shop is always clean. They recently expanded & added on a barber shop, as well as more tattoo stations. Even though I will always remember Electric Chair for it’s close, coziness pre-​expansion, the new shop face-​lift is awesome and really fits the growing needs of this shop.
Being a long time client, I have met lots of other EC artists & seen a lot of their work. Karina is amazing! She specializes in old school/​traditional and this girl does it right! Suriel is also an incredible artist. He really knows what he is doing & will always turn out amazing pieces. Ern is great artist too & won’t disappoint. All other things aside, all the folks at Electric Chair are great at what they do & super pleasant to be around.
I tip my hat to everyone at Electric Chair for offering professional tattooing in a great environment. Can’t wait to make my next appointment with Slick!

I am super excited about this find. I have been walking past this place everyday since april. It was Friday the 13^th. Decided to get a fun filler piece for my sleeve. They had so many options to choose from. They were super busy even late. Every one was really nice.
Nikkiblaize did my tattoo. I paid a little extra to get a larger peice. She was amazing. She is nice. Did a great job over all.

I recently used a Living Social coupon or Groupon (can’t remember which?). I chose «Slick Rick» because of an award he recently won at a tattoo show. I met for the consultation about a week prior and everything went pretty well. We actually planned out two tattoos but only had time for the one during the sitting.
My tattoo was not only my first but has a very deep personal and memorial meaning of my father. So it was extremely important for me that it went as close to perfect as possible. Rick did not disappoint me one bit. In fact, I firmly believe I got the better end of this deal. His work was stellar and almost beyond words. Truly a piece of art that pops off my skin to capture your attention (though I rarely show it in public).
Thank you Rick! I look forward to coming back for my «Karma» symbol piece we weren’t able to get to.
