I ordered a half/half bowl and mid way through my meal i found all these bones. I was lucky i didn’t chip at damn tooth. Anyway i was so hungry i spit it out and kept eating. The beef seemed rubbery and dry like it had be sitting out. The chicken was ok. Also, the sun shines 90 degrees into this place i was sweating in there and all they have are fans on low. No one else was eating there everyone took it to go probably because of that.

The service was great, the food was better than the flame broiler on Euclid & commonwealth. The only thing I didn’t like was that the girl that took my order had long painted acrylic nails. I’ve taken a serve safe class & that is not allowed. Whether your taking the order or cooking, long painted finger nails are not allowed. Dirt is easier to stay on long nails, the paint can chip & get in the food, since the nails are fake one can break off & get in the food. She wasn’t cooking but was putting lids on the bowls. I hate to give such a bad review on her because she was nice but that really turned me away from going back.

Ok. So let me start by saying the service is amazing. I think I’ve been about 5 times to this location. There’s a tall Asian guys there. He’s the best. He always smiles. Never rude. He will chat with you. He’s a cool dude. I like going there because I always take enough of the sauce for my meal. They never give me attitude. I feel comfortable coming here. The food is good. I’m a fan of flame broiler so I like the food anyway. But the customer service is what makes this location the best.

Chicken was dry, not enough vegetables and to end there isn’t a restroom even though there is a dine-in area. Unbelievable!

Don’t recommend this location. If you been to other flame broilers you’ll understand. This location totally skimps you on proportions to where the regular bowl doesn’t even have as much meat as a small would at other locations.

YUMMM, I wish there was one in Santa Barbara! Whenever I go down south, I try to stop at a Flame Broiler. Fresh steamed veggies on top of brown rice with grilled chicken drizzled with teriyaki sauce… it’s healthy and less than 600 calories!

Good healthy alternative if you don’t feel like eating junk food. I like the fact that you have a choice between white or brown rice with no extra charge for the brown rice. I usually order the chicken veggie bowl with brown rice and white chicken. The chicken is cooked right and the magic sauce is tasty. This location is great because they have the green hot hot sauce. This Flame Broiler is small, so seating at this location is quite limited.

Staff: A+ always friendly, polite, and professional(from my experience). Food: A+ for being«fast food,» this place is a healthy and delicious option. I’ve always been satisfied by their food. Location: A– clean on the inside; parking is very limited, fyi.

Consistently good teriyaki bowls. What’s more to say about grilled chicken, green onions, and teriyaki sauce? Oh yes, you can switch up your rice to brown if you’re feeling healthy. You can also add some beef to your chicken and get a COMBO bowl… Flamebroiler thanks for making me make healthy choices… kinda haha

Though flame broiler has been around for a while, I have just recently started eating their food. I find it convenient as its on the way to school(FJC), decently priced, and a healthier choice then generic fast food restaurants. This location has become a favorite spot of mine. So far, all my visits have been good. Great customer services, good food, fast service, and overall good experiences every time. I wish the bowls were a little bigger, and I say that as the food is pretty good. I usually get chicken with rice, sometimes substitute rice for more vegetables. Simple meal, tastes good, and fills me up for the most part. Clean restaurant, small parking lot — but its usually easy to find a spot. I will definitely continue coming here before class for my lunch every now and then.

Great place that doesn’t measure their chicken before putting it over your rice. Go here and avoid the one on Harbor next to Ralph’s…they measure their chicken in a measuring cup.

This is the healthiest lunch that is fast, that I can grab on the go, when I have had no time to pack a meal and am rushing to make it to class on time. I get the«works» bowl with brown rice and it is so good. Its a lot of protein and brown rice. It keeps me full for hours. The customer service is great. I especially like the Latin guy that works in the afternoon. He is so nice. Everyone is really really nice though. I have never waited longer than a few minutes for my bowl and it always tastes fresh.

The chicken bowl was really good as well as the service up until I bit on chicken bones half way into my meal! #sorrynotsorry

Old owner was my favorite, she was so sweet and funny. This one is still good but not my favorite anymore. The one real complaint I had is that half of my half and half bowl is cabbage. Does anyone actually like cabbage after more than a few pieces?

Really clean place. People were super nice. Food was fresh and tasty. Need I say more? I’ve always felt better about myself eating something that I don’t have to feel guilty about taking my family to so this flame broiler I would highly recommend. The food taste better here than the one next to the college. They are both the same franchise but this place seemed fresher.

Neighbors!!! Do not eat at this Flame Broiler!!! My husband and I ordered 2 chicken bowls, no rice. The chicken was pre-cooked and they just warmed it up on the grill. When my husband asked for fresh chicken, the pulled out a few pieces of pre-boiled chicken and cooked it on the grill. They were NOT happy about this request. We paid $ 14.47 for two bowls with mostly cabbage, 2 – 3 pieces of broccoli and a couple of pieces of carrots. The chicken was tasteless and the services people were rude. I have enjoyed Flame Broiler food until now. If it weren’t for the extra we paid for the veggies(ahem — if you can call 90% cabbage«veggies») I would not have wasted my time posting this. If there was a way for me to post pictures, I would. They tell the story WAY better than this post could ever tell it.

The Rib Plate is Korean-style marinated short ribs atop your choice of white or brown rice, and served with salad and fruit garnish. The short ribs were pretty good for fast food. The ribs were definitely marinated for quite a while as the flavor penetrated the meat really well, tasting almost like teriyaki. You feel your carnivorous side come out as you gnaw on the bone to get each piece of meat off. I prefer the brown rice as it has more flavor than just white rice. A little bit a shoyu(soy sauce) and/or «Happy Sauce» and you’re good to go. The salad was fresh and house sesame supreme dressing was very good. Thumbs up! The Half & Half Plate is beef and chicken with the same choices as above. If you can’t make up your mind, the Chicken and Beef Plate is the way to go. They give you a lot of meat on the plate dishes so you’ll definitely get your fill of protein. The chicken is okay on its own, but once you top it with some the Happy Sauce, it’s amazing! The Happy Sauce really does make everything happy whether it is meat, vegetables, or rice. The beef was perfectly marinated and cooked. It was just great all by itself with some rice. This version also comes in a mini or regular bowl option too. Thumbs up!

I’ve been to this Flame Broiler at least 20 times over the past five years, and have NEVER been disappointed. Great food and service. One of the men who worked there recognized me during several of my stops and he always made it a point to say«hello» and go out of his way to ask how I’ve been. Inside there isn’t much seating, so be aware if making a stop here. The drive through works fine as well if you don’t have time to step inside.

Like so many others have said, this store is INDEED the KING(Queen?) of the Flame Broilers! I get the Works plate with both meats and NO rice, all vegetables with onions! You get a little lettuce salad with a slightly creamy Italian dressing and a cleverly cut orange that easily comes apart to eat off the peel. With NOMSG, the sodium is pretty low in these, but if you want to really keep sodium down, they will custom broil the meats with no coating. That just takes a few minutes. Their sodium chart says 870 mg sodium for the WHOLE plate WITH the marinade on the meat, so I get it now. They have a dark teriyaki sauce that is surely a sodium hell but sure tastes good, but for me they have a red spicy hot sauce that is actually CAJUNCHEF Hot Sauce, even though the containers are now unlabeled(they used to be labeled). I LOVEIT! That is a Louisiana hot sauce which I have tried to buy online TWICE and both vendors NEVER delivered! I sure wish FB would sell it, but if ANYONE knows where a store may have it here in Orange county, please let me know!

I now claim this Flame Broiler the Mecca of all Flame Broilers! This place is the reason I must come at least once a week to eat the wonderful, delicious food. I can’t believe I’ve been coming from school all these years on Chapman and not stopped by. Instead, I’ve been going to the one on Commonwealth and Euclid. I now know the true Flame Broiler. I’ve been coming here for about two months now, and what this place is different from other Flame Broilers is definitely the service as well as the food. Service is very important to me and the owner makes sure I get what I want without rushing me. Whether it’s extra meat or extra onions, she makes sure I get it. And if you want something customized, I’m sure she’ll do whatever your taste buds like. Are you a jalapeño fanatic? This place has a huge supply of them, unlike other places which have jalapenos in a small, watery jar/container. The owner is very down to earth and has a very vibrant personality. She’s always smiling and has a positive attitude. I think I have to make time in my schedule to come twice a week now. The amazing food, the excellent service, and the great atmosphere are something I longed for in a fast food restaurant and it finally came true. Although I already had a chicken bowl for lunch, I’m craving for another one for dinner!
