My wife and I came for eye exams. Amazing friendly staff. Great customer service. Detailed and understandable explanation of everything. Huge selection of frames. Glad we came here.

Had a bad experience here, they told me false information about my coverage insurance wise they checked it and told me I was good to go for my exam, and then I come a few days later to have them tell me I was not covered and I needed to pay over 100 dollars, when they told me I was covered to begin with, that was their mistake for Miss reading my plan, and it shouldn’t be my fault and they wouldn’t give me my prescription, and they charged my benefits to now where I can’t go anywhere else cause they made it seem like I used all my benefits there when I didn’t get any glasses or even my prescription, I will not ever come here again, very disappointed in my first visit here ! I would recommend Fullerton Vision Center best place I been to and they took care of me in such a positive kind way !

Took about 20 to 30 minutes… quick and easy.
Dr. Land as was friendly and she answered all my questions.
I will be coming back for sure… I found my new eye Dr.

Really bad service and not professional, I made appointment for eye exam but wait really long time to get exam, Staff does not told me anything.
I don’t know why I need appointment :(

To start off with, they were extremely unorganized. They wrote multiple things wrong on my file like my name, and then confused me with my sisters file. Which should be a separate file from mine to begin with. The ladies working there seem nice and friendly but should not be talking about their personal issues in front of clients. Once given the contacts i had to call for a follow up because i was having issues with them. When i came back they gave me a different brand and didn’t even have the ones i needed. So they gave me one of the correct prescriptions and than one that was 25% off of my actual prescription. Than i called back a few days later to see if they could sell me one more contact of the right prescription and they said i would have to buy an entire box off of them. Which by the way they go through their own company of contacts and they are way more expensive by a good 10 – 20 dollars. Also i would like to say i have one of the best insurance policies you can have and they are WAY over priced than other places. Would i recommend them to others, Probably not.

Dr. Arellano and his whole staff are absolutely amazing. I’ve been going to eye doctors a few times a year for my entire life and I’ve never met a doctor that cared as much as Dr. Arellano! They have modern equipment to help you find the perfect prescription. The office is pretty small, but they have a large selection of frames in the «showroom». They will also happily order any frames they don’t have.
If you’re looking for a new optometrist, I can’t recommend Focal Point enough!

My family & I have been coming here for years. The staff has always been wonderful every time. Very professional & friendly. The Doctors don’t let you leave until you understand what’s going on with your eye if anything & answer all your questions. My kids love this place too. I fully recommend this Optometry to any one who has had issues in the past with other optometry places. Not only is the staff awesome as well as the service but they also have a Keurig which makes waiting time pass very quickly.

Dr. Arellano and the whole team are terrific and find them all helpful whenever I have an eye related need.

This review is overdue, but since I’m due for my annual check I thought I could help others with my review.
Again, my visits were about a year ago. Prior to that visit, I haven’t been checked for maybe 2 years. I knew my vision got worse, but when the younger looking doctor told me that my prescription went up from –2.5 to –6.0 I could hardly believe. She gave me a trial pair to see how I would feel for a week. I came back for another check, this time with dr Alvin. After doing some testing, he concluded that I was at –3.5. This was more believable, also because I’ve been wearing lenses for a year and they fit great and I see great.
Also, each time I went there, the front desk girls could never explain to me what my co-​pay was and why my insurance covered this and not that. I had one girl tell me one thing over the phone and then another giving me dirty looks in person by supposedly «doing me a favor» by charging me what another girl said. I was so confused and frustrated that I didn’t want to order lenses from them, but rather get it online.
I liked dr Alvin, but I’m not going back there. I get to do this once a year and don’t want to have unpleasant experience.

Ambience is lovely and inviting. I’m not a regular customer of eye places but I’m pretty sure the equipment here is state-​of-​the-​art. Frames selection is good. People are super nice and great with kids.
It may sound like a super suck-​up, but I’ve been here 3 times already a I’ve got nothing negative to report minus the turnaround for my glasses. But then again they do not fill them in-​house, and that’s ok too.

Brought my wife and kids all three got glasses here. super costumer service. defenently will recommend.

I have brought my son here for the past three years and I have never had a bad experience. The staff is very friendly. I am always called back on time to my appointments. They have a great selection of glasses for affordable prices. The facility is very clean.

I went here for my annual eye exam. I am a new customer and the staff was very welcoming. Dr. Landas explained my retina photograph by keeping it light, and making it easy to understand (no eye doctor lingo). She answered all of my questions and saw me in a timely manner. When my exam was complete, I went to the reception area and was asked if I wanted to look at frames. My current prescription was pretty much the same as last time, so I decided to not get any glasses. I informed the staff that I would not be getting frames and they were not pushy at all. Most of the eye doctor’s offices that I have been to try to get me to buy new frames. I was surprised and appreciated that I was pressured to buy frames. Thanks to the staff for a great eye exam visit!

I went to this office today and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff had already had all of my insurance information prepared and educated on what was covered and what discounts I would get beyond what my insurance covered. This was my first visit with an optometrist in years and the first time I’ve needed glasses. The doctor was very thorough and willing to answer any questions I had including questions regarding the equipment. The front desk girls were very friendly and we’re very helpful in helping me select a pair of glasses that looked good on me and matched my budget pretty well. The office was very clean and organized and everyone was very professional. While I was waiting the nurse even helped me get checked in as the receptionist was busy at the moment. Overall this was a very good experience and I will be sure to go back in the future!

I have been going to Focal Point & Dr. Alvin for about 7+ years. I used to live in Fullerton so it was the perfect location. Let me tell you, it is the most thorough and AMAZING eye exam you’ll ever get! I have always loved the attention from the front office staff and Dr. Arellano. Did I mention the prices are great? I have a horrible astigmatism and not only has he found the perfect lenses I don’t ever have to try new lenses.
Let me also say I have tried twice to go to two different eye doctors closer to me. I moved to Costa Mesa so Fullerton was a bit of a drive. Both doctors were HORRIBLE in comparison!!! I am glad to say, no matter WHERE, I move, I will forever be loyal to Focal Point!!!

This is a review for the front desk not the doctor. I made an appointment a week ago for my son as he needed new glasses. I specifically asked for Dr. Alvin. and to book me when he was available which would be a week later. I made it clear to the lady on the other end that I wanted son to be seen by him and to give a time when he would be able to. So I got an appointment a week later. Upon arriving I let the girl I had a 2:30pm appointment. She looks my son up and tells us to have a seat. Well while waiting I noticed other people coming in and out and figured they were seeing other eye doctors there. An hour later and I finally got tired of sitting there and walked up and informed the girls that I have been waiting for an hour and that I was just going to go and reschedule as I figured the doctor was probably busy. Turns out the girl at the front says to me «oh you haven’t been seen yet»? (Her desk is in visual view of me and son and at some point I was pacing trying to be patient) so not sure what was going on but I had enough. Two previous visits I had been scheduled to see the doctor at 1pm. Bad idea. The all lock up the doors and go to lunch. Well at 1pm until like 1:15pm I sat outside waiting for all of them to come back from lunch. Laughing and giggling telling me they are sorry (I hadn’t had a lunch yet). Then I had to wait for them to get inside and settle in before calling me to see the doctor. I didn’t say anything, I need my glasses and my sons too. But yesterday I decided to leave and was very angry for wasting my time sitting there. I planned on buying two pairs of glasses of glasses for my son that day of which i know were well over $ 150.00 each and order the ones I been wanting to get but at the time didn’t have money. So I am taking my business elsewhere. Like I said this review was for the front desk not the doctor, he happens to be very good with children but needs to train his staff a little better.

They provide great customer service. I recently got my new glasses here and was uncomfortable with them so I went back explained my concerns and they quickly resolved the issue. I was very pleased to find a place with friendly and helpful staff.

This review is for the front desk staff ONLY. I walked in and it was pretty full, so understandably I made an appointment for later that week. They can’t figure out if they accept my insurance, so they say they will take a look within the next few days and give me a call before my early morning appointment to let me know what they find out.
No call, so I’m assuming there are no issues. The lady at the front tells me the other girl did not call my insurance company and ask me if I can CALL MY OWN INSURANCE COMPANY to figure out if they will cover it. SHE DID NOT WANT TO CALL FOR ME either. I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY TO THE INSURANCE? «Do you allow me to go to Focal Point Optometry off Malvern?»
Honestly I felt it was so unprofessional when that’s their job. I tried to walk out, but finally she draws me back in by saying «I know we do accept it «
We figured it out in the end that my insurance was fine there. I left because I felt like for a healthcare business the little details were being overstepped. Why would I trust a place like that with my eyes?

Amazing!
I’m always studying at the Starbucks across from them, just the other week the screw came off that held my left lens together. My original Optometry was in Whittier but I didn’t feel like waiting until Friday when I was in town. So i decided to come in and see what they can do. They fixed my glasses with a new and better screw!
The place was very clean as well! and the personnel was very nice and friendly! Definitely coming here for my next pair of glasses!
