Fullerton Downtown Plaza

When you stare at the computer monitor for most of your workday, you need to take a time out, go for a stroll and transport your spirit. Sometimes, I rove about in this mecca of downtown bars, cafés, restaurants, boutiques and end up here at Fullerton Downtown Plaza.
The emptiness and quietude is what willingly draws me close. There isn’t much to this strip other than a small museum, a couple of churches, a parking structure, a park and a pavilion area with some benches. At different moments of the day, you might find students, workers, transients, soccer mommies, nannies, pet walkers, artists, skaters, smokers or photographers passing through here.
It’s one of the more mellow sides of DTF; a place in the middle of it all where you can either take a breather or just use as a bridge to somewhere else (keep in mind, not literally a bridge).

yes it was wrong what fullerton pd did to kelly thomas but if you get pulled over for drunk driving you’re going to get a dui and the only person that you should blame is yourself for making such an idiotic mistake… not the police dept.

You want to get a DUI? Go on Friday or Saturday night. Local PD will pull you over like you just robbed a bank. If you’re homeless or mentally disabled, the police department might jump you and beat you to death… it wouldn’t be the first time.
My heart goes out to the family of Kelly Thomas. I hope Fullerton PD will enroll their officers in a class on ethics.
FACT: On a good weekend Fullerton PD will issue close to or over 100 DUIs.

The best part of The Downtown plaza is the site of the Downtown Fullerton Market, occurring on Thursday during happy hour time from April to October. (seperate review just for the Farmer’s Market to come soon)
The plaza is really great for the community. The Fullerton plaza not only hosts the Market but also the Fullerton car show, live entertainment, an interactive water fountain in the summer time, a huge christmas tree during the winter and it is right near the Fullerton Museum. This is just a great place to enjoy a beautiful day, chillen out with some friends or your pet.
