Fullerton Golf Course

This course may be on the shorter side with many par 3’s but it is far from easy. The GREENS are moderately fast and there are many planes which make them challenging. The pin placement was pretty rough overall which didn’t help my putting game. I still had plenty of 3-​putts which isn’t common for me.
The FAIRWAYS are pretty yellowed out (good ol’ CA drought) which is the responsible thing to do. Unfortunately, it isn’t very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Maybe we’ll get used to it.
The course has many hills and angles and slopes which will create a lot of uneven lies. Overall, it is a very fun play.

Epic fail by the Fullerton GC staff this past Saturday. My 4-​some had an 11:45 tee time and the course was so backed up we didn’t get off until 20 after 12.
I have lived in the area for years, and Fullerton continues to pack the groups in like sardines to squeeze every dime they can out of profit, while creating a bad playing experience and slow pace of play. The tee boxes at holes #1, and #3 are consistently packed with 4 or 5 carts. The marshals need to do a better job of pushing pace.
I enjoy certain facets of the course, particularly the back nine, and the price is the cheapest in the area. Hence the reason I will play it once or twice a year.
If they could regulate their tee times and pace a litle better, it could be a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.

The tall bald skinny guy in pro shop who checked us in was rude, obnoxious, condescending and was just a jerk. He thinks he owns the place and not an employee. He started us off on the wrong foot right away.
Drinks: very expensive.
Now to the golf: narrow, dead patches of fairways (sucks when you stripe your drive), greens with dead areas with lots of ball marks. Bunkers are not raked. I like the elevations to offer varieties.
Not worth the price or aggravation. Our group will take our money elsewhere.

Good course for the money but you’ll never start on time and the pace of play is bad.

This is a great course for intermediate golfers. The course has many valleys and awesome views, especially the back 9. The grounds are kept fairly decent. The staff us very friendly and helpful. Booked tee time for $ 35/​person with cart but when we got there, they told us there was a special to include a drink (beer) and a combo meal breakfast or lunch to $ 30. Awesome deal and for $ 5 less than i was going to pay. Would definitely come back again.

This course has been overhauled from when I used to come here years ago. The greens are vastly improved. I would consider the greens up there with country club greens. The course and has a lot of par 3’s. On the non par 3’s the course makes you think about your tee shot before just grabbing the driver and swinging as hard as you can. They do have a couple par 5’s and of course par 4’s.The fairways are improved from the last time I played here. They were doing some work on some the tee boxes but I’m sure it’s only going to make the course better when all is said and done. They also have various specials once you sign up for their e-​mail club. I will be back to play this course in the future for sure.

This is my home turf. I play this course more than any other course because it is the best value course in Southern California.
Friendly and flexible staff. They make an effort to accommodate you, which is unusual considering the overwhelming amount of business they get.
Biggest downfall is the crowd. Expect long waits, especially on weekends, when playing during peak season. Another downfall is that the practice area is very small (not much room for chipping and no sand traps). There are two practice greens total (neither is anything special).
The course layout is really nice (2 par 5’s, 9 par 4’s, and 7 par 3’s). Par 68. This place is enough of a challenge for me.
Overall, I love this place!

Decent price. The fairways are really narrow and a lot of up and downs. Greens are fairly well kept. It’s usually pretty crowded after 3 is when I usually play because the price drops to $ 10 for club members. I play here pretty often.

Updating my review after golfing here a few more times, things have gotten better. Seems like they overhauled the staff with some people that understand their customers and the course itself is in good shape along with the greens are nice.

I played here for the first time several weeks ago. With a 1pm tee time in January, on a Sunday no less, I thought it would be near-​impossible for us to finish.
Well I was wrong. We did finish, with maybe 15 minutes before darkness hit.
Course condition — Average, 3.5÷5. Fairways are barren at times. The course reminded me of a budget version of Coyote Hills, around the corner.
Course layout — below average, ²⁄₅. I don’t know, I just didn’t like the course layout. It was narrow at times, which is fine, but just felt unnecessarily narrow. For example, hole (2? 3?), the par 5, has canyon/​weeds along the left side, but a highly sloping hill to the right. There are places with mandatory lay-​ups on par 4’s, cutting the short course even shorter. Probably only 2 – 3 drivable holes.

Don’t be deceived with the pictures. Currently, the golf course requires maintenance. The course is narrow, lots of uphills and downhills, an opportunity for miracle shots. Better greeneries are needed. The shop needed to hire another person to answer the phones. Only one person doing everything. Although, I have to say she juggled everything pretty well, but delayed our TEE time. The line got long for check-​in and to pay. Cost is okay.

Worst experience ever! Do not golf here. They send out as many people as they possibly can. I’ve been waiting for my cart for 45 mins. This is BS. Save yourself the frustration and money.

It’s no PGA course, and bring plenty of balls if you’re a hack, because once it’s gone, it’s gone. Friends and I play summers here every Friday. People here usually keep a good pace, and it’s CHEAP! After 5PM Monday through Friday it’s only $ 10 w/​cart. Friendly staff, some challenging holes, and a few long greens.

Overcrowded, only made it the first two holes and the pace of play was looking about 5.5−6 hours. I’ll pay a litlte more and go elsewhere next time.

Been here few times, not the greatest golf course out there, but you get what you pay for, and you can’t really ask for more.

I’ve played here for over 5 years, never had any issues until now. Since new management, prices have shot up and the worst part is they’re OVERBOOKING! SMH. They’re letting 5somes out now. It’s turning into crappy La Mirada course. I’m done playing here.

Been playing here for two years now and I honestly love Fullerton GC. I give it 4 stars based on value and convenience. 3 stars because of the conditions of the fairways. Greens are good and playability. their twilight of 10 – 14 dollars is awesome. (Seasonal) the breakfast burritos are awesome too! They have a players club now that is $ 29.99 per month and that gives u free balls, free green fees, and lessons. Love fullerton gc. Recommend for new players learning. Staff is very friendly!

Friendly service and a great value. This course could use a little TLC, but it is still very playable. Check out the discount sites for rounds under $ 20, even on the wkends. Not perfect, but it works for me!

I come here all the time, 3 – 5 times per month, and that’s a understatement. I noticed all the employees are wearing really nice orange Nike dry fit shirts. Well I think I may have bought a few for the staff Sunday.
$ 18 for 2 bloody marys is our usual order for my buddy and I, plus a bag of beers after hole 9, well this last weekend a buddy and I did our usual 2 bloody mary’s to start the day and my buddy said to me that the bartender charged him $ 28 for 2 drinks. We just laughed it off, we know this day out at the course is not gonna be a cheap one. I already paid my green fees plus I bought a box of balls, not a sleeve.
Well it gets worse, the cart girl pours us two LITTLE bloody mary’s and takes my card to charge it at the bar, never mentioning the price once. She comes back with a tab for $ 41. I almost lost my mind. A little warning would of been nice I tell her, I would of said to forget the drinks. And I could of easily got something else, all I was told by the cart girl was «we have new management, I know its expensive» .
I decided that I will take my $ 140 I plan on spending here to another golf course. So will my group I play with.
This is not a pool party in Vegas, its a golf course. I wonder why this place is dead every time I come. Fullerton Golf course you lost your mind.

Even though I grew up in Orange County, I never played golf anywhere outside of South County/​Santa Ana area. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this course and only wish I had found it sooner. The course is reasonably priced, somewhat challenging, has a beautiful layout (especially for a muni) and the employees are pretty chill.
As much as I look forward to coming back home and playing this course again, it does get two strike against it. First and the biggest strike, lets call it a strike and a half, is that it is run by American Golf… These guys run the golf course like a damn sweat shop focusing on numbers instead of quality, hence probably the three star Unilocal Rating. They stack their tee’s times every 7.5 minutes which leads to tons of backups up and down the course. We played during week and it still took us five hours to finish. God forbid you play on a weekend, as I bet you it will take close to six hours. The other strike I have against this place is the lack of a dress code. I really don’t care if you play in denim or even a t-​shirt, but please, tank tops and cut off tee’s? Your playing golf, not going to the gym. Have some respect people.
