Moon and MacGinnis Orthodontics

I thought it would only be fair to write an update. We were back in the office several weeks ago to get another loose bracket fixed. This time the dentist came out to apologize and explained what he was going to do to hopefully prevent the brackets from coming loose so easily. Great news… not one bracket has come loose! Whoop Whoop I really do appreciate how Dr McGinnis took the time to talk with me in such a kind manner.

I began treatment here about 3 years ago after a discouraging experience with my previous orthodontist. Right from the first consultation, I immediately felt I was in much safer, wiser, and capable hands. The entire staff and both Dr. Moon and Dr. Macginnis were highly organized during my treatment (although the wait was sometimes quite lengthy) and were always checking up on my comfort with the progress of my teeth. I really appreciated the detailed explanations about my treatment with each visit, and I now confidently enjoy a better smile!

Dr. Macginnis and the entire staff are so wonderful, friendly and professional. I did Invisalign treatments with them and had amazing results. I live in northern CA now, but could not be more happy with the efficiency of the process and how easy they made it for me! 5 stars all day every day!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Moon since I was about 12 years old. His staff has always shown perfect customer service and always tends to my needs! They are literally like family. To see the transition of the business grow throughout the years is amazing. MacGinnis is also very kind and greets me when he sees me. He is superb!
I’ve had braces on twice and retainers for almost 6+ years. There’s no one I’d trust my teeth with then Dr. Moon!

So… My wife talked me into getting Invisalign, (after about 6 months of telling me why it’s so awesome), since she had them and loved the Orthodontist she was seeing. Since I had been wanting to fix a few misaligned teeth I agreed to check it out.
Right from the beginning, this Orthodontic practice has exceeded my expectations. I’m a bit of a stickler for efficiency and cleanliness and both of my needs were met. The initial consultation was friendly, complete and informative. I was told upfront how things would proceed, why and what to expect. Being a techie, I was pleasantly surprised to see state-​of-​the-​art equipment and expertly trained staff, all complementing a well laid out, clean and comfortable dental office.
As for the doctors, I’ve only dealt with Dr. MacGinnis thus far and he seems very friendly and knowledgeable with a pleasant demeanor, which makes me feel good that I’ve entrusted my Invisalign procedure to him and his staff.
The check-​in procedure is very efficient and easy, and the waiting room is clean and inviting.
Not much more I can say other than if you’re thinking about Orthodontics, this would be a great place to check out and see for yourself.

Dr. Macginnis & his staff are great! Been coming here for my braces for over a year now and very pleased with the results so far! The office is very clean and has state of the art equipment! Would highly recommend this place for any orthodontist work!

Dr. MacGinnis is so personable and cares about our needs. They do so much to care for their patients! Unlike most doctors.

I found Moon and MacGinnis Orthodontist after searching for a orthodontist on Unilocal.I decided to make appointment for more information on braces and Invisalign. Dr. MacGinnis was incredibly informative and patient with our meeting and he has helped me make an educated decision without being pushy. I honestly feel he truly cares about his patient’s best interest. 5 star!!! Will be returning :)

I was looking for an orthodontist that does Invisalign and found Moon and MacGinnis through Unilocal.After reading mostly positive reviews I decided to get a free consultation. Upon arrival, I was thoroughly impressed with their office! I met Dr. MacGinnis, who was instantly friendly along with the rest of the staff. Sadly, I found out that my dental insurance at the time didn’t cover orthodontics, but I told them I would make it a point during open enrollment to change my dental and they promised to follow up. A few months later they actually followed through with their promise and called me. I made my first appointment and the rest is history! Oh! Did I mention they play elevator music when they take your X-​rays with a machine that circles your entire head?!
During my second appointment, I found out the whole staff was going on a vegas vacation together and today, we had a patient appreciation day where they rented out 3 theaters at AMC fullerton (which are super nice since the renovation) and we got to bring our whole family and a friend to watch «The Good Dinosaur.» Donuts, popcorn, coffee, milk, juice water and prizes were provided!!! REALLY!!! I have never seen a business that genuinely take care of their employees and patients!
Thanks Dr. MacGuinnis for these past 6 months! I’m sad to see my treatment coming to an end but so thankful I found you guys :)
You can bet that when my kids are old enough to get braces I’ll be going here and I have and will be recommending this place to everyone I know.

This office is great. I have been treated by Dr. MacGinnis for the last two years and he has been a pleasure to work with. He is super friendly and someone that comes across as very genuine.
The staff is great but Jamie is my favorite. You won’t meet a sweeter person.

I went in for a free consultation earlier today.
The receptionist was very polite and smiley. They gave me a office tour and pretty much the whole place was upscale and clean. Overall, they made me feel real comfortable. My dental assistant that took my pictures and x-​rays was very professional and very kind. Courtney, the woman who went over my plan of action for treatment was also very professional, and wasn’t pushy like other consultants I’ve met. She broke down my financial options very clearly. I didn’t feel like I was at car dealership with pushy salespeople. Dr. MacGinnis, also made me feel very comfortable. His recommendations for treatment I trusted immediately. Also, being that I had received an opinion from another orthodontist, I will say Dr. MacGinnis’ plan for my treatment was much wiser. He obviously thought about a lot more factors than the other had and that was truly appreciated.
I’ve decided against treatment for financial reasons, but I would recommend anyone to come by and receive a free consultation. There is no pressure whatsoever, and I was actually going to go ahead with treatment if it hadn’t been for my finances.

This place is beyond amazing. The staff and Dr. MacGinnis are so friendly and nice, but Dominique (is that right??) is my favorite. I got my braces on yesterday and it was a great experience. I’m excited about my journey!

Beautiful office, extremely patient and attentive dentist and staff, and these dentists are top of the line. If you need a night guard (which I do) or orthodontics, I don’t think you could do much better than them. They are also recommended by holistic doctors, which for me is a major plus. Haven’t gotten the NTI night guard yet, but so far am impressed with the efficiency and reputation of the place.

I got braces about 11 years ago by Dr Moon. Dr Moon is a teeth magician. I had pretty horrible teeth and a bad overbite. I sure don’t miss having braces but he really knew what he was doing.
My two brothers and I all got braces by Dr Moon and to this day all three of us continue to have perfect straight teeth. They have not shifted and I always get told by dentist that my teeth are perfect. Money well spent ! Unilocal wasn’t invented back in the days but I’m glad it is now to let people know what an amazing doctor he is. I hope my future children don’t get my bad teeth but if they do I know where I’m taking them !

This is truly a practice that goes above and beyond! If I could give it more stars I would. The staff and Dr. MacGinnis are personable, extremely friendly and very professional. We haven’t met Dr. Moon yet but we’re sure he’s nice too if everyone else is top notch. Not many places of business conduct business in the manner that they do. For instance, Dr. MacGinnis has actually called after a bracket was installed in my son’s mouth to check on how he was feeling with the new device, if he was in pain or discomfort and even gave us a number to call in case of emergency. I’ve never ever had any doctors call to check on me before so I was not only impressed but very touched that they go to such lengths. I’m constantly recommending and referring their office to any of our friends who need ortho services.

Brought my daughter here for an orthodontic evaluation. We were greeted promptly upon entering this beautiful building and just as beautiful office. I was surprised to find the cute play area for my littles that tagged along to the appointment. X-​rays and photos were taken on my daughter then the treatment coordinator Courtney took us on a tour of the office then to the consultation room. There was a large bench for the littles to squirm around on! Dr. MacGinnis came in shortly after and introduced himself. He reviewed the pictures and x-​rays and took a look in her mouth. He recommended braces, which I already knew she needed! We worked out a financial agreement and got her started the same day with spacer things in between her teeth! This place is great, the staff is friendly, definitely will (already have) keep handing out their share a smile referral card. They also have a rewards program and contests in the office!

The office of Moon and MacGinnis Orthodontics has been the best orthodontics office I’ve visited. It is a great place to bring your kids and family. You are treated not just as a patient but as if you are a neighborhood friend. Everyone there knows your name and welcomes you with a warm smile. The doctor and staff provides expert care and the results speak for themselves. You will truly be impressed when you come in for a consultation. I recommend if you are looking for your children to also consider yourself. I have put braces on 3 children and I’m happy to say that I’m almost done with paying on the 3^rd and it will be my turn. I had braces but the technology and changes that you will get from Moon and MacGinnis Orthodontics will change your beautiful smile forever,

Well, it’s been YEARS since I got my braces off and time (and lack of a retainer) definitely started playing a bad joke on me… I started getting a gap between my front teeth! Noooooo!!! Clearly, something had to be done! Since it’s been more than 17 years since I had my braces taken off, my ortho had retired. I didn’t know what I was
going to do.
I am so thankful to have been referred to Dr MacGinnis’ office by a friend. What a high-​tech office and friendly staff. Super quick and easy appointment and best of all I got a new retainer sorted in NO TIME! I am so thankful to say my «madonna gap» is now gone — thanks to Dr MacGinnis–
and I’ve found an awesome new ortho to keep my smile looking nice and keep my teeth tight !

As a 40 year old adult, I underwent two years of Orthodontic treatment with Dr. Won Moon and Dr. Matthew Macginnis, of Moon and Macginnis Orthodontics, in Fullerton, CA. Drs. Moon and Macginnis came highly recommended by Dr. Vincent Medici (AKA, Vincent Saporito. Google his name for clues of why he changed it). Dr. Moon was trained at Harvard and is on the staff at UCLA. Dr. Macginnis was trained at UCLA. With these credentials, I didn’t expect them to make my Orthodontic situation worse.
Throughout the course of treatment I had significant issues and concerns (e.g., titanium pin («TAD») fracturing in my palate, toxicity & carcinogenicity of metals used in wires, brackets, and palatal expander, TMJ issues, malocclusion, etc.) all of which were brought to the attention of Drs. Moon and Macginnis, and dismissed or diminished.
The problems caused by treatment (particularly TMJ-​related ringing in ears, misalignment, scar tissue, etc.) and complications I continue to experience, are unacceptable, and will require treatment elsewhere to rectify. It’s likely that I will have Orthodontic complications for the foreseeable future, if not indefinitely.
I sought expert advice from additional practitioners, and was advised that the issues Drs. Moon and Macginnis caused could not be resolved with their methods. I presented these concerns to Drs. Moon and Macginnis, with CBCT films showing undesirable treatment outcomes. Drs. Moon and Macginnis are unwilling to acknowledge undesirable treatment outcomes.
Due to significant travel expenses (I don’t live in California), my poor experience, and losing complete faith in their ability to resolve the issues they created in the course of treatment, I discontinued treatment. (If it happens to you, they’ll send you a patient release form absolving them of any «complications or liability»). Based on this, as well as the disclaimer signed at the outset of treatment, they’re well aware of the adverse effects of their methods. In essence, they’re not responsible if anything they do turns out poorly. If you bring concerns to their attention they will minimize them, or otherwise spin it so they are not at fault. Are these the type of practitioners you want to entrust your health (not to mention, your money) with?
I highly recommend avoiding Moon and Macginnis Orthodontics.

The office is really nice. Everything is clean, modern, and kept up very well. Dr MacGinnis spent a lot of time explaining the treatment to me and answered all my questions. He presented everything clearly and was straight forward. All the staff that I had a chance to meet were very welcoming and professional.
If you are looking for an orthodontist, I would definitely recommend Dr MacGinnis.
