Nathan was fantastic and knew exactly what we wanted with our Holiday cards. While we chose an outdoor setting, in terms of the specific location, lighting and photo setting for our family of 5, they were all thoughtfully chosen and the pictures were beautiful. He also knew exactly how to deal with our crazy little ones to optimize the pics and ultimately they turned out fantastic! We would definitely use Nathan again and refer him to others!

We must have interviewed a hundred photographers before finally selecting Nathan to take our engagement and wedding photos. Photos are one of the most important things you’ll get from your wedding day to remember it by… so we wanted to be sure we were comfortable with who we picked. And I have to say, we absolutely made the right choice in going with Nathan!
Nathan and his team are so easy to work with, from start to finish. He is professional, prompt, and extremely amiable and easy going, which is very helpful during stressful wedding times. And if you’re rather camera-​shy like me, Nathan will help you out a bit to make sure your pictures still turn out creative and beautiful.
Both our engagement session and wedding day were primarily outdoors in various lights. Our reception was outside at night with minimal light. We also did some wedding shots down on the beach at sunset. Nathan was able to capture amazing photos in all settings. Some of our beach pictures were absolutely beautiful!

Nathan went above and beyond making our family photo session a resounding success. He’s very patient and took all of my phone calls and addressed all of my concerns before our scheduled session. I’ve been reluctant to start reviewing on Unilocal,but it’s time to break that. I wanted to save it for something special rather than some amazing food rec. So I decided to make my first Unilocal review go out to Nathan Nowack. I was referred to him by other friends of mine that had him as their photographer. Funny thing is, he already knew who I was as «the dancing guy» from my friend’s wedding, and he had proof of the dancing (I was a finalist in the dance off, so it shows I’ve got some dancing skills… or I just know how to make a fool of myself).
My then-​fiancée and now wife initially contacted him nearly 3 years ago (geez it was a while ago) when we initially started planning our wedding. His office in Fullerton was nice, cozy, and he made you feel welcome as well as well-​informed of what you would be getting with his services (you can also ask about his logo if you’re interested). We did not end up getting married then, and had to break the unfortunate news to Nathan. Fast forward 2 years later, we decided that it was time, and we knew we wanted to get Nathan back on our wedding crew! He was accommodating the whole way through, and even honored the initial deposit we had made when we first started planning with him!
He has been a top-​notch, very approachable, accommodating, and easy-​going professional who shares a love for coffee (if it’s going to be a long day, get him a cup of his favorite cold/​hot brew please). We had a great time going around downtown LA for our engagement session and having him and Benny shoot our wedding. Couldn’t have asked for better photographers for our big day! They are punctual, makes sure to keep track of time so you don’t, and captures all the important moments that will matter to you in future years to come with his exceptional work. If you’re thinking about going with Nathan as your photographer for whatever occasion, you won’t regret it!

We hired Nathan for our engagement and wedding day. Everything was perfect. My husband and I are not very creative in poses, and we’re the type that will make weird smiley faces because we’re camera shy. Nathan brought out the natural look and beauty in us! He was always on time, patient and kind. I wish I could be more detailed about our experience but I have a 5-​month old now and she’s a handful. This review was long overdo (my wedding was back in Oct 2013), but Nathan did such a wonderful job that I couldn’t let a 5 star review go! Thanks again, Nathan!

Nathan is awesome. We’ve had Nathan take our annual family photos 2 years in a row now and we are definitely calling him again next year! Ultra professional photographer, superior quality (crisp, clean pictures) and the BEST part is that he turns the pictures around in a week! We even ordered our photo album from him and it’s just perfection. He’s an artist and an efficient one! He’ll take an idea and exceed your expectations. Call him!

Nathan’s the best! We booked Nathan for our engagement session and wedding day photography. Our first meeting with Nathan went very smoothly. Met him at his studio in Fullerton to discuss photo package options, location and details. Had a great conversation with him discussing our story and answering questions that we had for him.
Day of engagement shoot, Nathan arrived early to our shooting spot and scoped out the area for possible photo op locations. He’s got a great eye for locations. We knew the area pretty well, but Nathan saw places that we didn’t even think of. We took pictures during the early afternoon-​sunset times and were able to get beautiful vibrant colors for the outdoor shots. Had a few shots located inside a building where the lighting needed a little help. Nathan brought along his trusty sidekick flashes and were able to get amazing indoor shots. Silhouette pictures came out great with the flash! Great use of natural and artificial lighting techniques. It was a little awkward in the beginning to know that we were being watched and photographed… but Nathan did a great job relieving us of our nerves with his comedian Nathan jokes and friendly conversations. After that, everything went very smoothly. We received our pictures back from him very quickly. Sneak peek pictures were up for viewing almost 2 days after the shoot.
Day of wedding. Nathan and his assistant were present for the ceremony, reception and additional location photographs. Nathan captured amazing shots of us during the ceremony and reception. He made everyone look amazing! we had a noon ceremony where the sun was bright and shinny right above us, but you couldn’t even tell with Nathan’s superb photographing skills. All the pictures came out so clear, you could almost see the sweat bead roll off the guest’s forehead =P During our reception, we walked the tables and thanked everyone for attending and had group pictures taken at that time. Nathan was great in capturing those moments and very patient while our guests were gabbing our ears away. We wanted extra time with Nathan after the wedding to take more photos at another location. That location is so popular for pictures, that when we arrived, there were at least 15 other groups there taking pictures! AND a wedding going on in one corner of the courtyard! Nathan being the exceptional professional that he is, found us a quaint corner and took our shots. the pictures turned out phenomenal! you couldn’t even tell that we were there with about 40 other people! Nathan did a great job framing the pictures that you never saw any other people in them.
We got our wedding day pictures back and were able to relive the day again with moments that we remember, and moments that we were so busy didn’t get to see. The candid smiles on everyone’s faces were a great sight. All the colors in the pictures came out crisp, clear and vibrant. We went to Costco to get the pictures printed. The photos viewed online were really nice and even printed didn’t loose it’s effect. Everything turned out wonderfully. We thank Nathan for his great job and being there with us to capture our moments that we will look back to see and reminisce.

Nathan is a true artist and I am very grateful for everything he did for us on our wedding day. My husband and I were married on June 1, 2014 at the Richard Nixon Library and Museum in Yorba Linda and Nathan was our photographer. Going with Nathan as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made during the process of planning our wedding. He was always professional, kind and understanding about all the details involved in planning such a major event. Nathan knows how to capture the best moments of your special occasion and make everyone look amazing in pictures! My husband and I are not photogenic but we looked amazing in our wedding pictures thanks to Nathan. He is very artistic and there are so many beautiful pictures from our special day that I am struggling to keep our wedding album limited on the number of pictures. He was also very timely on providing sneak peek images after our wedding day and sending the flash drive with all 1000 images.
Overall Nathan is worth every penny and no couple should cheap out and try to save money on a photographer for their wedding day. Take it from me – we actually did not use Nathan for our engagement pictures and had a cheap photographer take them and they were awful. We immediately fired him and found Nathan to help us on our wedding day. Going with that other photographer would have been a disaster for us.
Thanks to Nathan we have beautiful memories from the best day of our lives!

I found Nathan via Unilocal and I must say on 1^st impressions (the complimentary consultation) he is a spectacular person. We didn’t end up using Nathan’s services because we ended up going with a photographer that was referred to us by several non-​related/​independent friends but I felt compelled to say something about him.
So, we met with him at his studio and I was immediately impressed, his studio was bright, clean, not too cluttered with pics and smelled really nice… I couldn’t get over how nice his office smelled haha. Anyway, Nathan greeted us and sat us down and he had all these example booklets of past work to thumb through and an IPAD chockfull of examples, everything was very well organized, high quality and there was an impressive attention to detail, even his program packet was very well thought out and clipped together with a heart pin ahaha.
The only knock against Nathan… and it’s not really a knock but I guess a style preference — my fiancé loves candid, cute, off the cuff shots and stuff like that, she’s not really into the romantic static poses/​looks, so, a lot of the pictures we saw were either romantic and/​or static poses, which I think is fine, but chicks will be chicks. I’m sure if we had probed a bit more Nathan would have produced that kinda stuff but everything I saw was pretty damn good.
A small part of me regrets not going with Nathan, I think I would have loved to see him in action. He seems like the kind of dood who would have gotten to the location early, stayed late, would be up all night finishing his work and et al, but, the decision has been made and we’re moving forward, however, I did refer him to my wedding coordinator friends and see if they’d be willing to talk to him to add to their preferred vendor list.

When it comes to wedding vendors, they all play an important part. The most important, though, are the photographs, because they will last for years and years. I was picky when it came to photography style and quality, and I wasn’t going to skimp on the photographer. I know people who opted for less experienced photographers and it became their biggest regret.
I decided to meet up with Nathan after I read his Unilocal reviews and had some professional photographer friends and family members evaluate his work. Once I got the nod of approval, I went to meet with him. Nathan is genuinely friendly, energetic, and helpful in tailoring his packages to suit my needs.
On the day of the wedding, the other members of my wedding team had nothing but good things to say about Nathan and the second photographer, Jove (from Jovanni Photography). They worked flawlessly together and with my videographers and coordinators. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.
Upon receiving the photos from our wedding, I was delighted. Nathan and Jove captured all of the important moments and even snuck in intimate candid shots that trigger deep, profound emotions when I see them. They captured the beauty, excitement, and love from that day in the most artistic, beautiful way.
Nathan was always exceptional in his communication in both reasonable response time and quality of response. If you like his photography style (check out his portfolio), I wouldn’t hesitate to ask for a consultation. Should I ever need a professional photographer again, I know who I’m going to.

My husband and I were actually referred to Nathan by another photographer. You already know he will be a good one if another professional in the field will recommend him. before meeting Nathan, we have met up with multiple photographers for our wedding. those consultations weren’t bad… they weren’t good either. nothing stood out at all. But when we met Nathan, it was definitely different. He was friendly, different, professional, organized, and creative. I don’t mean to offend any photographers out there, but seriously, most of our encounters with them were so awkward. there lots of moments of silence during our meetings. Nathan immediately made us feel at ease during our initial consultation. we were totally relaxed and could actually imagine how fun it would be to have our wedding/​engagement photos taken by him.
His prices were very fair and he was very accommodating. His response time to any phone calls and emails are super fast too! With me being a complete control freak, I completely let go of anything that has to do with photography to Nathan because I trusted him. He got all of our engagement and wedding shots within the reasonable time he promised.
Overall, we were very happy with Nathan and I’ve already referred a few of my friends to him. =) Can’t wait to book him again for future events!

Nathan has been our exclusive company photographer since September 2011. During the interview process, Nathan’s work and personality definitely stood apart from the rest. It was obvious to me that he is a PRO and the one for us. I hired him to take headshots of our employees as well as to take some pictures at our social events. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the quality of his work and customer service! His warm personality, professionalism, and creative photography talents are second to none. My husband actually found Nathan through another website, we looked at his work and were very impressed by his shots. We emailed him and got a response right away. We met up with him the following week and it was all over! He was the one and only photographer we spoke to, and hired him right away back in September 2013. We didn’t have an engagement shoot, but we still felt so comfortable with him.
We were worried about our photographers being intrusive but Nathan and his staff were quote the opposite. Half the time we forgot he was even there! He captured shots organically, and didn’t have to «stage» us because he had missed a shot. We had the «typical» shots but he also knew how to capture our unique style as well and get those «fun» photos in. As an additional service, we had Nathan prepare some «getting ready» photos to be displayed at our slideshow at dinner and the guests loved it. They said they had never seen it done before! The poor guy had to work all day in 90 degree weather, sweating bullets but never once complained. He just powered through the entire day without letting up.
We had another reception a month after the wedding, and Nathan amazingly prepared about 100 photos ready for us to use for that as well. The rest of the photos we got back in a very timely manner. There were NO bad photos!
He has such great attention to detail! When we received our USB with our photos from him, it was in a personalized tin and the wooden USB drive was customized; carved with our names and our wedding date! The little things… made such an impression on us.
You can tell he loves his job, and it shows in his photos. We cannot say enough good things about Nathan… he is talented, professional, creative, fun, and easy to talk to and work with! He was worth every penny. Your wedding only happens once… your photos will last a lifetime, Nathan should be the one to capture it all. You will not regret hiring him!

I was living up in Northern California but was planning an Orange County wedding so where else would I go for great recommendations than my beloved Unilocal.I found Nathan and read all the reviews which were obviously positive but what really drew me to contact him was of course his amazing portfolio. The photos speak for themselves but what I am most impressed about Nathan as a photographer is not only his talent but his professionalism. He is very prompt and very organized in all of his communication. For a stressful event like a wedding you not only want great photos to look back on but you also want to work with vendors who are reliable and responsible. I highly with the utmost confidence recommend Nathan for your wedding or any other special occasion you want professionally photographed. Nathan is an absolute joy to work with, you won’t regret working with him.

I’ve said it before but… you get what you pay for. When my then-​soon-​to-​be-​wifey recommended (i.e., picked) Nathan for our wedding, I was skeptical. But Nathan and his crew was well worth it. He’s very responsive and receptive. He didn’t insist on the stereotypical wedding pictures we hate. He let us (ok, her) do a boudoir shoot instead of an engagement shoot. The pictures, albums (physical and online) and even cute little custom USB drive keepsake (yeah, that’s a thing, apparently) all turned out great.

Nathan Nowack is extremely talented and it was a pleasure to have him shoot my wedding. We just received the pictures and they are amazing. They are worth every penny.
I was really drawn to the photo-​journalistic style of Nathan’s photography. Since my husband (then fiancé) and I decided that wedding photography was going to be one of the most important part (aside from venue) for our budget.
Relatives may claim that they can take great pictures with their SLRs but it is just not the same. There is a world of difference between a professional wedding photographer and your friend or family member with an SLR. We felt that 90% of our wedding is taking pictures. There is no re-​wind button to go back and re-​capture those important moments. Nathan captured everything beautifully and knew exactly when, where, and how to capture those special moments. He is also has great customer service and is friendly. While we were taking pictures, he made us feel at ease even though we weren’t used to being photographed so much.
I also love that you get all of your photos on a USB flash drive so you can have the ability to print your own photos. This is not the case with all photographers and it was one of the most important things for me when searching for a photographer.
I would not hesitate for anyone to use Nathan for your photography. He is extremely professional, talented, and his prices are very reasonable.

Unilocal is not a dating site. That being said, my husband and I met on Unilocal a few years ago, so when it came to planning our wedding, naturally, we turned to Unilocal.
My husband works in the photography industry and we had gotten offers from various photographers to shoot our wedding (some we could afford and some we couldn’t), but none of them offered the style I was looking for. Nathan was one of the best reviewed photographers I found and I absolutely loved his style of photography.
We met with Nathan at his studio and he was so friendly and helpful and immediately put us at ease. He is incredibly professional and puts an amazing amount of detail into everything. Even the contract packet was pretty!
His style of photography is modern and timeless. He helped us tailor a package based on our budget and understood our wedding theme. He put us both at ease during the engagement shoot and really captured us as a couple.
On the wedding day, he and his team arrived on time and went straight to work. His wife Allison, who was his assistant for the day, was so incredibly sweet and got right to work helping him set up the shots based on a list I’d given him. He and Allison also reassured me and calmed me down when I had a little freak out about my wedding makeup. Nathan and his assistant (Jeremy Chou, also a wedding photographer) were super stealthy and I barely noticed them through out the night, but man, did they get some amazing shots! For the portraits, they both came up with some fun, unique ideas for pictures which was awesome! They captured moments that were a blur to me and when I saw the pictures, it was amazing to relive those moments. He even captured flattering candids, and as someone who has a tendency to be caught making weird faces at the wrong time, this was incredible!
I’ve gotten rave reviews on our pictures already, and the way they were presented to us with our personalized memory stick in a personalized tin was so lovely. It’s that kind of attention to presentation, detail, and professionalism that makes Nathan stand out. He even created a slide show for us set two of our favorite songs and it made everyone cry because it was so touching.
I know budget is a big concern for brides, but do yourself a favor and invest in a true, professional wedding photographer like Nathan. These photos are really an investment and you want the absolute best for your big day. Nathan knows how to stage wedding shots and how to photograph in various venues, and how to wrangle people in for group shots. It’s truly money well spent because your photos will come out breathtakingly beautiful.

Nathan did our engagement photo shoot back in March and he did a phenomenal job. I booked him back in January and through emails and calls we scheduled a face to face meeting. Communication with Nathan is seamless.
Nathan is extremely patient and understanding. He answered my (sometimes odd) questions without a flinch and even helped us tailor our photography package.
Our engagement photos came out beautiful and I get so many compliments on them. Nathan was very eager to please us and wanted our feedback as soon as possible. I got the sneak peak of my photos that same night and then Sunday morning I woke up to an email containing the other 150 photos take that day. All edited and softly touched up! This guy works his heart out!
We cannot wait for him to do our Wedding in November. His professionalism puts you at ease and his personality makes you feel like you’ve know him forever!

Nathan, and his posse of fellow photographers, Jeremy Chou and Erich Chen, did an AWESOME job capturing our 3-​day wedding in Cabo. Most of the time, we forgot they were working because they fit in so well with our group of friends and family.
It’s a great sign when your photographer shows up in some unforgettable photos having as good a time as you are.
