Pie in the Sky UYE

For a UYE, I was pretty impressed at what Michael pulled off. Everything was comped for 15+ people on a busy Friday night. Good pizza and great company so I couldn’t complain, especially since I live 5 minutes away :) I’ve been to Pie-​ology half a dozen times before this UYE and I was pleased to see that the quality and consistency of the pizzas were the same as my other visits.
Michael, sorry for not being able to join the meeting with the owner but I was in SF! You did a good job, nonetheless. And didn’t even need my help.

Michael W knows how to throw a party! He throws down! And seriously… needs to work for Unilocal.
He was somehow able to get the owner of Pieology to give his Unilocalers FREE pizza and a drink… AMAZING. Even tho for a whole pizza it’s $ 7.50… he somehow got it for free for us.
He brought name tags and another fellow Unilocaler brought cupcakes for everyone! So sweet!
I got there late because I was waiting for my sister FROM SANTA MONICA to come and I came from PASADENA… with horrible horrible traffic… but we still got there…
The pizza was great and we were going to do gelatto afterward, but my sister felt sick and I had to take her home. Sorry Michael!!!
I got to meet a lot of people and it was really cool! FOOD TRUCK Bill was there! YAY!

I patiently explained to Michael that a place like this wasn’t going to comp the meals of 20 Unilocalers.
I explained that Pieology already had a successful start and they had over 170 reviews; most were damned good.
I pointed out that Friday was probably their busiest night, and therefore the LEAST LIKELY night they would want to host us.
But Michael refused to listen to me.
And about 20 of us got free pizza, soft drinks, and host Ding Dongs. And the famous Elizabeth V. brought red velvet and banana-​nut cupcakes from this place she knows in Compton.
And then we went for Gelato afterwards.
And I am not blaming Michael because my gelato tasted like seaweed. It was still fun.

Michael, I’m not sure how you do it, but you get stuff done. Which is a good thing, though I’m pretty sure you’re now banned from Pieology.
Great little event of what had to be around 20 people. I forgot what time it actually was, so I spent a bit more time drinking than I should have at the Bruery. Whoops.
Even though the line was really long. hey, who would have thunk it on a Friday night? gee! the pay out to the event was a-​okay in that you got a free pizza ($ 8 value), soda, and well, I don’t know how you managed it but they comped the meal entirely.
Good job Michael. You get a special star sticker for this one.
The only negative to this was the post events. It was bad enough we were walking on the edge of the blade going into the land of fullerton, but then the gelato place was a block away from where that homeless dude got beat to death by the cops?
You trying to kill me?
All around it was great to chill and get some pizza, shoot the breeze with other Unilocalers and just hang on a Friday night.
Again Michael, good job. You done good for this UYE.

Poor Pineapple Guy. He’s stressing about tables for us. Apparently the person he spoke with had an emergency and Pie in the Sky almost became a UYE fail.
The big hand in the sky of Pieology dropped out of the sky and BAM free pizza was born to those who wore the heavy duty name tags compliments of random UYE king.

Getting anything free at a UYE is rare. Free pizza, drinks, and a ding dong. That’s how this UYE rolls.
The pizza was great, the lines were just as incredible, and I was stuffed.

We drove all the way to Fullerton for this pizza place. (And I’m glad we did.)
There was a line. The manager was supposed to be there and wasn’t. The tables were full.
But they hooked us up with free pizza! Awesome!
