Plan 9 From Outer Space

What can you say about Plan 9 From Outer Space that needs to be said. The movie is B movie royalty and truly needs to be respected for what it is. This play that is quickly becoming a yearly tradition at the Maverick follows in the footsteps of the film to perfection.
For those of who seen the feature length film you already know what to expect. Terrible acting, a plot with many holes and laugh out loud moments and the cheesiest special effects that money can buy. The play does each of these to perfection but the charm of seeing this put on in front of you was truly epic. To look up during a pivotal scene with UFO’s only to see the special effects department above the stage spinning a bottle cap on string is laugh out loud funny. The acting is perfect and intentionally follows the droning and emotionless acting the film made famous.
This is definitely a perfect iteration of a classic B Movie film whose legacy will live forever. I will definitely be back to see this again next year and would recommend anyone who enjoys a good laugh to check it out. Even for those people who have never seen the film, I honestly feel you would still enjoy yourself and really get a sense of why this has become a B movie treasure. Check it out.
