Amazing worship and meditation. This temple follows the teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda. It also recognizes Jesus as a prophet. The people are always friendly. I really like the cosmic chants Ohhhhhhhhmmmmm!!!

This place offers an unlikely peaceful place for meditation amidst the chaotic mix of students, bar hoppers, apt residents and weekly Fullerton fair visitors.
Once referred to as the «The Church of All Religions», Self Realization Fellowship teaches the practice of meditation for people of any religion or no religion at all. It was founded by a Hindu/​Christian by the name of Paramahansa Yogananda, in the Early 1900s whose goal it was to show the similarities of truths between religions. There are many SRF locations, most popular are the «Lakeshrine”(in Pacific Palisades) and the Encinitas location. SRF’s beautiful meditation gardens attract many. This particular SRF location is a humble one, with a small, cozy interior and quiet garden in the back. Because of its humble appearance, this Fullerton SRF location attracts those who are more serious about learning how to meditate (rather than a crowd of tourists).
It offers free women’s yoga asana classes on Monday evenings. Regular intros to meditation on Thursdays at 8pm (usually followed by an inspirational talk — which usually incorporates both Chrisitan and Hindu references), Sunday services, and silent 3-​hour meditations once a week, among other events and activities. They have a calendar posted outside the temple with the current months events. They also have a website calendar (which you can google — SRF fullerton).
I highly enjoy attending the Thursday evening intros to meditations (as an uplifting mid-​week pick me up) and the Sunday morning services (11am)

I’ve gone here twice so far for a guided meditation. Before I was never into meditation and never understood the beauty of it. I feel that to attend these kinds of events, you have to have the right mindset. With so much going on, it’s really relaxing to unwind and let things go. Meditation has definitely changed my life for the better. My sleeping habits improved a lot and I’m feeling a lot better every morning. The people here are so nice and are very helpful to beginners that’s are unfamiliar with the process. I highly encourage others to try it! It’s a very uplifting experience.
