Ted Craig Regional Park

Craig Park is an awesome park to come walk, run, go on a picnic, take the kids to the playground, and just relax. It’s a fairly large park and you can easily get lost in here. The area is kept very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, it’s not free to get in, but I’d say it’s worth the price of admission. You can also purchase a season pass. If that’s not something you want to do, you can also park outside on the street, but it fills up fast.

Craig Park is beautiful! Rolling hills, a lake, creeks, endless walkways, playgrounds, and a sports complex. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy here. This park oasis is less than a block away from Brea Mall.
Since this is a regional park, there is a parking fee-​$ 3 on weekdays and $ 5 on weekends and holidays.
Tip 1-​Plan to spend the day at the park. Take a picnic, a blanket, bikes, roller skates, etc. The family will have tons to do.
Tip 2-​If you dont plan on spending the whole day at the park, park outside and skip paying the parking fee. If you have kids and/​or you plan on spending the whole day at the park, pay the parking fee. The park is 120+ acres and there are several areas you’ll want to explore.

Great park for jogging and taking the kids. It’s never overcrowded and always clean. I jog here every morning and always find nice people walking and jogging. A healthy park for healthy people :)

This park is just gorgeous and huge. There is a mini lake with alot of ducks and other exotic birds plus from what i saw, like about 3 big playgrounds and a sports area. This place is perfect for birthdays and events. This park does allow dogs but there are signs that they must be leashed, which is reasonable because you can come across a duck randomly walking next to you or behind you. Pricing is very reasonable; I am absolutely sure they use this to keep maintance for the park which is absolutely worth coming by and viewing this beautiful park.

This is such a beautiful park, the nature here is breathtaking! This is a really beautiful park to walk around. It’s nice to get away from the city and explore what this park has to offer. The only thing is that you gotta pay to drive around in the park. There’s free street parking, but that gets filled up pretty fast. Regardless though, this park is beautiful, and I loved wasting hours just exploring it.

Beautiful place to come for birthday parties, picnics, a run, etc. I love it! You have to pay a 5 dollar fee to get in during the weekends but think of it as giving back to the community and being able to enjoy the beautification of the park. It’s got a lake, tennis courts, handball courts, clean bathrooms, and just an overall pretty place to spend an afternoon.

Beautiful park, and well kept. It’s a nice park to jog at and has a lot of inclines so it’s a good challenge. A lot of wild life, I didn’t think that there would be such a beautiful park in the middle of a freeway and main roads. It’s truly a gem! Been running here for more than a year. I’m going to try out the sand volleyball courts next!

I have visited this park countless times throughout my life. This park has parking, but you have to pay an entry fee. Many people park on the street outside the park on State College, but this can get crowded. You can also park further down on Rolling Hills Drive near The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-​day Saints, and walk down the hill and you’ll be in the far end of the park by the basketball courts and volleyball nets.
This park is quite diverse and is equipped for people to participate in various activities. You can fish at the lake, play volleyball at the court, play basketball, baseball, run, walk, or take your children to the playground. You can even arrange with the park staff members to reserve a spot to throw a party or barbecue.

Love this park. Take my pooch here for walks often. It’s not as crowded as other OC parks, at least not the «lower» part. If you park on the street on St College, there’s an opening for you to walk straight down and onto a paved trail which leads you straight to a nice lake at the end, right before the baseball field. This is my usual path. It’s simple, clean, relaxing, and my puppy meets furry friends along the way. :) They have blue puppy poop bags along this trail free for use so that’s always a plus!

I wanted to explore a different trail for a walk. I am a teacher and my motto for this summer is free, cheap, or groupon. During the week the parking is $ 3… So it fits with my cheap motto. There appears to more than one trail, but I stuck with the paved one. There wAs enough shade provided by trees, a pretty pond, courts to play on, playground equipment for little people, and the perimeter of the park was just enough to get in a decent workout. Next time I will have to explore the dam trail that you can catch at the back of the park.

Beautiful park! It’s very large and has various things to do here. There are several ponds with sucks which I see people fishing in, there’s several playgrounds for children, softball and football fields, basketball and tennis courts. There is so much to do! A ton of grass, trees and trails to walk or bike as well. Along with it being a gorgeous, large park, it is also dog friendly!

My family and I love this park. First, the setting is peaceful and feels reasonably removed from the city surrounding it. The grounds have many quiet, shady places to set up camp for a few hours of relaxing in nature. Second, this park is wonderful for a walk or jog. There are many paths and little hills to add some challenge and interest. Third, it’s very clean. I hate seeing a lot of litter while I’m at the park, or ever really, so the fact that for whatever reason I’ve not seen a mess there is a big positive for me. Finally they have a great selection of playgrounds. Each one is different from the others with clean and engaging equipment that will keep your little ones entertained for hours.
Bring a blanket and some snacks, your kids and your pups and pass a lovely day at this park.

This park is great for a relaxing stroll along a winding pathway through tree studded grassy knolls.
My dog has never been happier on a leashed walk. For the most part, the city is obscured by foilage and traffic sounds fade away as soon as you enter the park.
There are many benches, shaded picnic tables and lush quiet green spots for relaxing. There is a body of water that small streams empty into. Ducks and other birds hang out here. For active folks, there are baseball diamonds, basketball, racquet ball courts, even horseshoes.
We walked a two mile loop around the park, then went to Lazy Dog Café afterwards. We parked on State Collage for free this time but I don’t have a problem paying for a parking pass on our next visit. The park is well maintained and very clean. We will be coming back often.

You have to pay for entry to this park, but it is worth every penny.
It’s very well kept and it is also one of the most beautiful parks that I have ever been to! You can either rent out your very own section to have a celebration (which is really spacious with plenty of tables/​benches by the way) or you can just bring a blanket to enjoy a nice picnic. It’s very family friendly, peaceful, and relaxing.

This place is a great hidden treasure in Brea. Right off the 57 near the Hat. A great scenic place to take a walk, or have a romantic picnic with a significant other, to feed the ducks with the kids, or cruise around with your bike.
I use to go here everyday to jog around their awesome pond/​small lake. Now I’m here at least once a week. It’s never the same when I visit, the birds and ducks change seasonally.
Best place to go during is during the Fall and Summer. Of course during summer there’s more people. Perfect time is around 5−7pm when it’s still light out, but a nice breeze to avoid the summer heat. They had concert nights every Thursday during the summer but that lasted 2 months.
There are lots of water fountains, as well as puppy «poopie» bags all around the park. Around 4 – 5 public restrooms as well. Overall this park is very kept up and clean.
You can pay to park inside the park ($ 2 dollars I think), but I usually park on State College since it’s free. NOTE: Be careful and read the signs when parking! There’s signs where it says, «No parking beyond this point.» I’ve seen cars getting ticketed who parked past the sign. Also at 5 – 5:30 it’s more difficult to find parking. That’s why I go around 6 or 7 since there’s much more parking spaces then.
This place is perfect for all ages! Two thumbs up!

I love this park!
I come here to go jogging or to just go on a walk. This park has one huge walking trail that’s about 3 miles, if I’m remembering that correctly. It is a concrete trail that as an entrance to a dirt trail, if you choose to go that route. This park is very well maintained– the grass is green throughout the whole park and the bathrooms are pretty clean.
There’s a small lake in the middle of the park with plenty of benches and tables around it. A stream starts from the entrance of the park, continues to the lake in the middle, making walks I take here quite scenic. There’s tons of ducks and birds who call this little lake home, too!
If you have kids, know that there are at least 2 play areas here (I only recall 2 but there might be more).
Parking is not free. Their rates are listed on a sign when you enter. If you don’t want to pay for parking, I suggest you park on the street just outside the park (it’s free!). You can also take your chances by parking at The Hat… but I don’t know if that is a good idea if you plan to stay longer than 30mins.-1 hr.

Beautiful well kept park. I didn’t expect to pay for parking, so we ended up parking on the street. I wouldn’t count on finding a spot there because space is limited.
The park grounds were very nice. There were plenty of clean tables/​benches, a few play areas, a lake, and some hilly areas. I didn’t even explore the whole park so there is probably much more. There was mention of a rose garden on a map but I wasn’t able to locate it. I was only disappointed that many of the pathways didn’t match up and I found myself walking through a parking lot to get to the next sidewalk. It would be nice if the paths were continuous. Overall it was a lovely park.

A park that is over 120 acres and offers plenty of shaded spots is what you will find here! This is one of my favorite parks for 2 reasons:
1) It’s right next to The Hat.
2) It’s simply a peaceful and beautiful park.
There is parking inside the park, but I don’t know if there is a fee or not. We for years have always just parked along State College and walked into the park. It seems the joggers and dog walkers park along there and people who are renting out a picnic area who have coolers, chairs, etc., park inside so they don’t have to carry stuff far.
It is small, but there is a playground here for the kiddos. This park is really more for suited for people who want to get out and walk, jog, bike ride and escape the city life for a moment even though there are softball/​baseball fields, volleyball court, basketball court and horseshoe pits. There are lots of hills so come with proper shoes and water. There is a small lake where you can fish for catfish and bluegill if you have your CA fishing license. The park is dog friendly and dogs need to be on leashes at all times and cleaned up after. My dog, Brownie loves this park and seeing all of the different birds and wildlife. So, go to The Hat, grab a pastrami sandwich and head to the park to relax!

I came here over the weekend for a baby shower. The baby shower was reserved at the shelter #1 which is right by the entrance to the park. Make sure you have $ 5 cash for parking. They also don’t accept bills over $ 20.
The park itself is pretty large in size. We had a great time playing soccer and throwing the nerf ball along with talking with family. The park is well kept and I think the parking fee of $ 5 is well spent. They have staff going throughout the park cleaning up trash and just keeping an eye on everything. I heard you have to reserve a shelter before hand. It’s a great park if you are planning a large picnic or party.
Also, make sure you go to the entrance on State College. We just looked at the map since it looked like they also have entrances on the back side of the park, but they have those blocked off with a gate. The entrance is just south of Imperial.

I’ve been coming here for years… it’s a great park with a well kept cement 2+ mile walking/​running «trail». Fairly easy path with a few nice steep hills. There are plenty of trees, lots of grass and a few lakes that you forget you are surrounded by a bustling shopping mall area and busy freeway.
There are softball/​baseball diamonds, basketball courts, handball courts and also a dirt trail for horses. Parking does cost if you choose to park inside the actual park itself, however there is plenty of parking on the street if you choose to do so. There are picnic areas and group areas that are available for reservations. Bathrooms are almost always clean and well stocked. Ducks, birds, turtles and other wildlife reside in this protected area… be kind and respectful.
Leashed dogs are welcome and there are pickup stations so you can pick up after your little stinker.
It’s definitely a nice park and a great way to spend the day if you want to escape into the «great outdoors»
I like to buy the OC Park parking pass and frequent all the OC Parks… definitely saves money on parking and encourages me to get out and enjoy the sunshine with my dog! :)
