Tried to go here tonight. advertised as dog friendly patio on Paws in the Plaza Thursdays(first Thursday of the month). We were a party of 6 plus 1 pug. After waiting about 15 minutes we were advised(despite claims on Paws in the Plaza website) the absolutely no dogs were allowed on patio. False(free) advertising? We went across the street to Signatures where pets are always welcome and had a great time. Note: we are not«those people» who expect to take our pup every where we go. We take her to events like this maybe 4 times a year.

Another great neighborhood bar in the downtown Gahanna area(also try Signature’s across from the street). It used to be cooler when the upstairs was open– not sure if that happens all the time. You can obtain snacks from Old Bag of Nails if you’re feeling peckish. Also, there are tons of TVs if you’re here to watch a game. However, it can get a little loud because the establish doesn’t command a lot of square footage.

Low key place to chill and just enjoy the Creekside scenery. Honors happy hour specials of Old Bucket of Nails, small but does the trick

I had been into, and did a small review of, the Pour House Tavern’s parent restaurant, The Old Bag of Nails, which is right next door. When the Old Bag of Nails closed for repairs last December after a fire(they have since reopened), I stopped into The Pour House Tavern. From the outset, I have to say«Best Happy Hour Around»(4 – 7). The draft beer is half price, and five of the appetizers, such as a pound of wings, onion rings, nachos(chicken or beef) are also half price. Wine is too, as are mixed drinks. The atmosphere is just OK, it’s a little sparse, but it has six or seven TVs tuned into several different sports channels down on the first floor. The food comes from the Old Bag of Nails twenty feet away, and you can order anything off of the main menu. There is a second floor with additional seating, and quite a bit more room. The staff is wonderful. I have dealt with a gentleman named Patrick on a couple of occasions, and the rest of the time with Heather. They, and all of the staff, are courteous, friendly, smile and are genuinely thoughtful. The best deal on the appetizer menu is the full pound of wings. They come in a light breading, but they will make them«naked» for you if you like. There is hot, mild, sweet barbecue(like Baby Ray’s”), and my favorite of all, the sweet hot barbecue. A draft pint of Guinness and a pound of wings runs less than seven dollars. The beer is cold, the wings are hot, and if she has the time, Heather will finish off your Guinness with a shamrock design in the foam! I highly recommend this place as your happy hour or anytime stop.
