History
Established in 1981.
We began in 1981 when Ava White, M.Ed. was the only tutor. She found that there was more demand for help than she could handle personally, so she recruited other teachers to work with these students. She also found out that students needed assistance in subjects like Spanish, SAT or ACT, Geometry or Pre-Calculus. Since her background and training was in Special Education, these were areas which she had no experience or expertise. Ava found qualified teachers to work with students who needed academic support in these general education areas. This is how the business has grown to help struggling students in different stages of their education.

Ava White has a undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education from Peabody College of Education, which is part of Vanderbuilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She taught severely emotionally disturbed youngsters in Griffin, Ga., then moved to Gwinnett County and worked with special education students at Snellville Middle School. While she was there, she earned a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia. She moved back to Gainesville, Georgia and was the Educational Coordinator for the Alpine Psycho-Educational Center, a facility which served severely emotionally disturbed students.
In 1981 Ava decided to start tutoring students privately. She began working out of her home, but the demand grew so that she had to move to an office and hire other teachers to meet the requests. After that, she discovered Wilson Reading System, a program that helps students of all ages learn to read. She became a Wilson Trainer in 2006.
